I have created a forge app, for revit, using the provided deleteapps design automation template, and the design automation API. The goal of this app is to process and export content from revit file.
My question is, how to get the current working directory, in the app, when a workitem starts?

There is ModelPathUtils.ConvertUserVisiblePathToModelPath(model); but I dont want a path to a revit file, just a base path, where I can create folders.
Design Automation allows you to write to current working folder. It is a unique path for each job. You can call Directory.GetCurrentDirectory() to access the current folder.
string path = Directory.GetCurrentDirectory();
This will give you the root folder for a given job. You are allowed to create sub folders and save files within this folder.
You can also take a look at the current RVT Document PathName property. Not sure whether it lives in the current directory, though, but it might be interesting to check.

I'm using ReactJS to build a site, and I want to create a link (a href="relativepath") to a local HTML file so that when the user clicks on the link, it'll open up the html page. The local file is in a different folder X outside of the project, and I don't want to upload it into my src folder because the html file depends on a lot of other files in X. Is there a good way to do so?
I also want to upload a different local HTML file that is already within the src folder of my React App. I currently have something like this:

I already tried adding in webpack + an htmlLoader, but I think I followed the steps incorrectly as I wasn't able to get it to work. I uninstalled those packages, so I'm now back to square one.

Just linking to or importing from a local file in some other location won't work unless those local files are also deployed to the server in the same location relative to the app (and the web server has access to that location).
So you'll need to copy the file and its linked dependencies in a folder that will be deployed along with your react build, but not where it'll get treated as part of the react codebase so webpack will try to compile it (so not in src either).
If you used create-react-app to set up your application, for example, this would be the public folder; other webpack setups may use different names but the general concept is the same.

and it works fine with single revit file.
now i want to view revit document that has linked document and i found this post How to Set References with Revit Files for View and Data API
but i think it is an old version of api.
so i don't know how to apply these steps in the viewer code.
any help
A zipped file which is contained the host RVT file and corresponding linked files can help you archive this goal. After uploading this ZIP file to the Forge DM, you have to make sure that ‘compressedUrn: true’ and ‘rootFilename: {your host RVT filename with the sub filename .rvt}’ your input field of the job configuration body while submitting your translation job. If you do not want to manage the reference, while simply count on Forge detects the reference automatically, the choice is what Eason mentioned: package all files in an zip, upload, and ask Forge Post Job service to translate the zip. You only need to specify the root file.

If you want to manage the reference, e.g. in one time, you have uploaded all files of one version or only a few files of the package. While after some time, some files need to be updated, or are not referred anymore, but it is unnecessary to upload all related files again (as in #1, upload zip again).
In such scenario, the choice is, firstly, set reference manually by another Forge service (Set Reference):

As of 1/2020 Autodesk has said that they do not support reference endpoint when exporting to SVG so zip file is the only supported method currenty.
We run the offline viewer using the http-server command, how can we make it load more files other than the bubbles and to be able to send strings back to it to save as files on the file system?
Do we have to write a modified http-server for that? if so can we have some direction on how?
The Viewer is read-only, nothing is saved or changed on the model after the translation.
It's possible to get the current state, like zoom, perspective or position via Autodesk.Viewing.Viewer3D methods: getState() and restoreState(), but the state is not actually saved by default, you'll need to implement a JavaScript that communicate with your backend to POST and GET this information. This sample extends this state.
Another sample extend this to save changes on model back to server that comunicate to the original file. Again, everything is custom implemented.
In any case you'll need a back-end that store the changes and a JavaScript that read and restore it.

first you have to save your file in isolated storage and you need to use launcher this code would help you:

this launcher is available in windows phone 8 only.
As stated in MSDN :
"You can use file and URI associations in Windows Phone 8 to automatically launch your app when another app launches a specific file type or URI scheme. When launched, a deep link URI is used to send the file (a reference to the file) or URI to your app."
Basically you need to do following steps :
Register your application to be associated to a specific file type, for example .pdf file extension in this case. This step done by adding <Extension> in WMAppManifest.xml.
When your application get launched upon user opening a .pdf file, get file id from query string then get the physical file using SharedStorageAccessManager based on file id.
The rest is to handle opening the file in your application.

I am developing some web app to be used on my local pc only.
The question is that I want to be able to browse to some directory or file and get its path. So is this possible using some file/directory path picker (not the whole dir, just its path).
I don't want to manually type the path in the text input, rather to have some visualized way to navigate to the dir.
