Cakephp3 Email Message - cakephp-3.0

Im trying to send an email not using templates, the email is sent with the right subject but the message is always blank.
public function sendEmail($token = null, $recipient = null)
{
$path = "http://$_SERVER[HTTP_HOST]";
$controller = "/users/activate/";
$message = $path . $controller . $token;
$Email = new Email();
$Email->profile(['from' => 'xxxxxxxxxxxxx#gmail.com', 'transport' => 'default']);
$Email->to($recipient);
$Email->subject('Verification Email');
$Email->message('test');
//$Email->message($message);
if ( !$Email->send() ) {
$response = array('success' => false, 'message' => __('Error sending email', true),);
$this->sendResponse($response);
}
}
I've tried both a variable or plain text and it keeps sending the emails blank.
Any example of how to assign the message properly?

I kept testing and this is the correct way t assign the message to a simple email:
$Email->send($message);

$user->roles()->attach(Role::where('name','Admin')->first());
}
$user->save();
return redirect('admin/users')->with('success', 'user is successfully saved');
}
Your assignment $user is null because there is no record with the email you are providing.
Use findOrFail($request['email']) so that you throw a ModelNotFoundException in this scenario.
OR
$user = User::where('email',$request['email'])->first();
if(!is_null($user) { // check not null of $user here
$user->first_name = $request->input('first_name');
$user->last_name = $request->input('last_name');
}

You should use FindOrFail method instead
so instead of using this line:
$user = User::where('email',$request['email'])->first();
use this:
$user = User::findOrFail($id);
so FindOrFail will get the user by id and if it does not exist it will fail and show 404 Not found.

how to pass data using rest api of cakephp 3?

I am trying as follows:
From Client:
$link = 'http://app.itexpertbd.com/' . 'rest_filters/index.json';
$http = new Client();
$data['Phone']['name'] = 'New Phone';
$data['Phone']['manufacturer'] = 'New Phone Manufacturer';
$data['Phone']['description'] = 'New Phone Description';
$response = $http->get($link,$data);
And REST API end point:
public function index() {
$return = $data;
$this->set(array(
'return' => $return,
'_serialize' => array('return')
));
}
But when I inspect $response->body, it is empty. What is the problem in my approach?

Use JSON in Symfony controller

I'm looking for a way to execute a little bit of JSON from my Symfony (2.6 btw) controller, moreover than an other action (post data into database)
In fact, there is an register page with a controller which put data into database and then, redirect user to another page. But i need that my controller execute too a little bit of JSON to use Mailchimp API.
I've found a lot of docs about how to render JSON response, but, it seems to me that it's not what i want to be.
There is my controller
public function registerAction(Request $request)
{
/** #var $formFactory \FOS\UserBundle\Form\Factory\FactoryInterface */
$formFactory = $this->get('fos_user.registration.form.factory');
/** #var $userManager \FOS\UserBundle\Model\UserManagerInterface */
$userManager = $this->get('fos_user.user_manager');
/** #var $dispatcher \Symfony\Component\EventDispatcher\EventDispatcherInterface */
$dispatcher = $this->get('event_dispatcher');
$user = $userManager->createUser();
$user->setEnabled(true);
$event = new GetResponseUserEvent($user, $request);
$dispatcher->dispatch(FOSUserEvents::REGISTRATION_INITIALIZE, $event);
if (null !== $event->getResponse()) {
return $event->getResponse();
}
$form = $formFactory->createForm();
$form->setData($user);
$form->handleRequest($request);
if ($form->isValid()) {
// Gestion du type d'utilisateur et ajout du role
$user_type = $form->get('user_profile')->get('type')->getData();
$new_role = $this->roles[$user_type];
$event = new FormEvent($form, $request);
$user = $event->getForm()->getData();
$user->addRole($new_role);
$user->getUserProfile()->setEmail($user->getEmail());
$dispatcher->dispatch(FOSUserEvents::REGISTRATION_SUCCESS, $event);
$userManager->updateUser($user);
if (null === $response = $event->getResponse()) {
$url = $this->generateUrl('fos_user_registration_confirmed');
$response = new RedirectResponse($url);
}
$dispatcher->dispatch(FOSUserEvents::REGISTRATION_COMPLETED, new FilterUserResponseEvent($user, $request, $response));
return $response;
}
return $this->render('FOSUserBundle:Registration:register.html.twig', array(
'form' => $form->createView(),
));
}
There is my JSON request
{
"email_address": "$email",
"status": "subscribed",
"merge_fields": {
"FNAME": "$name",
"LNAME": "$lastname",
"DATE": "$date"
}
}
So, how can i do to execute this JSON with this controller ?
Thank you in advance for your help (and sorry for my excellent english)
You probably want to create the JSON from an array rather than try to pass variables. Try:
$data = [
'email_address' => $email,
'status' => 'subscribed',
'merge_fields' => [
'FNAME' => $name,
'LNAME' => $lastname,
'DATE' => $date,
],
];
$json = json_encode($data);
Then I'm assuming this data gets sent to MailChimp in a POST request? If so, you could use Guzzle to send the data to MailChimp:
First add the guzzle dependency in composer by running:
composer require guzzlehttp/guzzle
Then send the data:
$client = new \GuzzleHttp\Client();
$response = $client->request('POST', 'https://MAILCHIMP_URL', ['body' => $data]);
To send JSON instead of raw data, do the following:
$client = new \GuzzleHttp\Client();
$response = $client->request('POST', 'https://MAILCHIMP_URL', ['json' => $data]);
Depending on the response status, you can then handle the logic afterwards.
You can achieve this also using JsonResponse (Symfony\Component\HttpFoundation\JsonResponse)
use Symfony\Component\HttpFoundation\JsonResponse;
...
// if you know the data to send when creating the response
$data = [
'email_address' => $email,
'status' => 'subscribed',
'merge_fields' => [
'FNAME' => $name,
'LNAME' => $lastname,
'DATE' => $date,
]
];
$response = new JsonResponse($data);
return $response;

Send JSON from HTTPS to HTTP

I use Request solution for ajax-request, but I get an error:
reqwest.min.js:6 Mixed Content: The page at 'https://...' was loaded
over HTTPS, but requested an insecure XMLHttpRequest endpoint
'http://...'. This request has been blocked; the content must be
served over HTTPS.
Server-side code (i'm using wordpress plugin for this):
add_action('wp_ajax_nopriv_wpse144893_search', 'wpse144893_search_data'); // allow logged out users
add_action('wp_ajax_wpse144893_search', 'wpse144893_search_data'); // allow logged in users
function wpse144893_search_data(){
header('Content-type: application/json');
header('Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *');
$errors = array();
$data = array(
'status' => 'error',
'message' => '',
'result' => array()
);
if(!isset($_REQUEST['term']) || empty($_REQUEST['term']))
$errors[] = 'No search term given!';
if(!isset($_REQUEST['limit']) || empty($_REQUEST['limit']))
$limit = 10;
else
$limit = (int) $_REQUEST['limit'];
if(empty($errors)){
$term = sanitize_text_field($_REQUEST['term']);
// setup query data
$args = array(
'posts_per_page' => $limit,
's' => $term
);
$query = new WP_Query($args); // run query
$results = array();
if($query->have_posts()): while($query->have_posts()): $query->the_post();
$post_item = array(
'title' => get_the_title(),
'excerpt' => get_the_excerpt(),
'permalink' => get_permalink()
);
$results[] = $post_item;
endwhile;
$data['status'] = 'success';
$data['message'] = 'Results found!';
$data['result'] = $results;
else:
$errors[] = 'No post found!';
$data['message'] = $errors;
endif;
}
echo json_encode($data); // print json
die(); // kill the script
}
Client-side code (request plugin):
reqwest({
url: 'http://...'
, type: 'json'
, method: 'get'
, crossOrigin: true
, withCredentials: true
, error: function (err) { alert('1'); }
, success: function (resp) {
alert('2');
}
})
I tried use this header('Content-type: application/json');header('Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *'); (see in server code above) but it does not solve the problem.
Problem is solved by moving second server to HTTPS...

Codeigniter send html mail

I know - there are already discussions concerning this, but they all didn't help.
All I want is to send a simple html mail - with:
$this->load->library('email');
$this->email->from('me#myadress.de', 'My name');
$this->email->to('me#home.de');
$this->email->subject('Email Test');
$this->email->message('test'); # for test only - normally I load a html view
$this->email->send();
Works fine with the default configuration ($config['mailtype'] = 'text';), but when I change it to $config['mailtype'] = 'html'; - I just get
Unable to send email using PHP mail(). Your server might not be configured to send mail using this method.
The only answers I found was to use SMPT - but I would prefer a solution using sendmail. (I'm pretty sure sendmails supports html mails. ^^)
Any other hints? I've no idea how to debug this... the email-print looks ok to me.
If you want to send an html as a email, please check the below controller file
class Mail extends CI_Controller {
function __construct()
{
parent::__construct();
$this->load->helper(array('form', 'url'));
}
public function index()
{
$config = array(
'protocol' => 'smtp',
'smtp_host' => 'tls://smtp.gmail.com',
'smtp_port' => 465,
'smtp_user' => 'xxx#gmail.com',
'smtp_pass' => '*********',
'mailtype' => 'html',
'charset' => 'utf-8'
);
$this->load->library('email', $config);
$this->email->set_newline("\r\n");
$this->email->from('xxx#gmail.com');
$this->email->to("yyyy#gmail.com");
$this->email->subject('Test Email');
$body = $this->load->view('welcome_message',null,TRUE);
$this->email->message($body);
if (!$this->email->send()){
echo 'fail to load email';
}
else {
echo 'success to send email';
}
}
}
Where welcome_message is the html view file which you want to send as a mail body
