I have been trying to float a figure to the right of some text but the image keeps floating out.
Code
Image floating out of borders
I've tried fiddling around as much as possible but couldn't figure it out. When the page is at 100% zoom, the figure floats out, but when zoomed in, it fits right.
Sorry, I'm a newbie, not sure how stack works yet.
You should add this to main element:
overflow: auto;
So main element will wrap around every child element.

Sorry if this has been asked before. I'm very inexperienced with CSS. I tried looking through previous threads to see if I could solve this problem myself, but I've had no luck so far.
The website is http://greenemusiceducation.com/
The container right underneath the site's header is forcing all content (in this case a slider) to align to the right. In the 'site-inner' and 'wrap' classes (the classes that are listed right underneath the header in the sites source-code), I've tried editing the parameters but the changes don't seem to have any effect whatsoever. This container alignment issue is consistent across different pages for the site.
On mobile devices, the site loads fine and operates as expected. On Chrome, everything is right-aligned. On IE 11, the slider doesn't show up at all.
I would be grateful for any help!
.content has float: right;. If you want to center it, remove the float, and use margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; to center it horizontally. Since the element has a defined width, that will center it horizontally. Here's a good resource on how to center things - https://www.w3.org/Style/Examples/007/center.en.html
You can nest the style that is sliding to the right within a paragraph html heading with an inline style that sets the text for that to center. Even though there are other things beside text, it will still center the content of the container nested within it.
<p style="text-align:center;"><div="container></div></p>
I recently created a webpage for a company at http://www.parkprivatewealth.com/park and everything looked fine on Chrome. However, when using Safari to view the page, the homepage heading gets cut off when using fixed position. The text is there when I try to scroll up more and seems like something is blocking the text.
When I take off the "position: fixed" tag in the CSS the words appear again, would anyone possibly know how to solve the problem?
The problem: When the header changes to a fixed position, it gets pulled out of the document flow and the .container element pushes upward. Since you didn't use top, left, etc., the h1 element moves upward with .container
The solution: Add padding-top to the .container element. It should be the same as the header height.

I'm curently laying out a page for an assignment, and am having bit of a brain fart in regard to positioning the content container beside the side bar and below the header.
I know it should be a simple fix, but when i change the margins it pushes the whole page down.
Can anyone see what I'm doing wrong?
Add float:left to .cardinfo CSS class
I have so much trouble figuring out where my mistake are. I want to build website with some divs on the right to each other...later there should be a horizontal navigation which automatically scroll to the right via anchors.
Anyways...each div has an image in the background and a container with some text. The navigation menu is fixed and is always displayed.
My trouble: Why is the text container not showing up on the first div?
Please see my fiddle on http://jsfiddle.net/pvvFR/
Thank you in advance for reading and if so...for answering
Is this something like that a solution

I've put a position absolute on you slider
and i've put your container div out of the slider
EDIT :
Look at this: http://jsfiddle.net/pvvFR/13/
everything is relative
And i've given a height to your slider, and position your container to a negative top
If I did got you right, if you use img to set a background (which I think is not good at all), you should exclude it from the common layer (for example position:absolute), so the content could overlay it. Your problem is not in text, but in image.
try to have each container a unique class and replace with for example and put the image to div background like
background:url('http://www.wiesenhof-online.de/upload/Chicken-Ribs-BBQ-quer.jpg');

Well, answer to your question about the REASON behind this happening is that Z-INDEX only works with positioned elements and as you are not positioning your image element that's why 'some text' is buried behind the image and its z-index doesn't take effect.
Check this. http://jsfiddle.net/pvvFR/14/
I'm sure this is something simple but I am just not seeing it.
My wrapper DIV is floating left and the A tags within are displaying correctly but mousing over them you'll see that they are not the proper height/width.
I can't seem to get them in line, could someone take a quick look and tell me what I am missing?
Page is here, it's the social media icons
Any help is greatly appreciated, again I am sure it's something simple.
--Edit--
I am on a Mac, tested with firefox and safari so far, they don't hover correctly, only the very bottom portion of them actually function as a button.
In firebug, if I remove the wrappers float attribute, the links hover as they should. So I know it has something to do with the float.
On Chrome the icons are in a line but, as you said, only the bottom portion of them is active. The problem is that your #branding element extends down below the bottom of #main, partially obscuring #subWrapper, #sub, #left, and part of #right (though not enough to cause a problem there).
You could put overflow: hidden on #main, but then the graphic in #branding would get cut off at the bottom. (The graphics look very nice, BTW.) I think if you just add a positive z-index to either #sub or #subWrapper, such as z-index: 1, that should do the trick.
