please help me I am stuck because of this issue while learning. I have tried downloading and adding CDN but nothing is working for me to connect bootstrap. I have been trying to make an app using HTML, CSS, js but stuck in this very silly problem.

Write the JavaScript CDNs just above the closing of the body tag. Try the code I wrote and you will see it works.

your code seems ok except JavaScript cdn version. Your bootstrap css version is 5.0.0 where as your JavaScript version is 3.4.1.
You can update your "atest compiled JavaScript" cdn to
<script src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/bootstrap#5.0.0-beta2/dist/js/bootstrap.bundle.min.js" integrity="sha384-b5kHyXgcpbZJO/tY9Ul7kGkf1S0CWuKcCD38l8YkeH8z8QjE0GmW1gYU5S9FOnJ0" crossorigin="anonymous"></script>
Instead of
<script src="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/3.4.1/js/bootstrap.min.js"></script>
I pray this fix may help you. Thank you.
Lets say I am reading the table contents from database and printing the table rows. Sometimes I may have more than 5 rows data in the database sometimes I may have less than 5 rows data in the database.
What I want is when the table rows exceeds 5 rows it should take scrollbar, if it is less than 5 rows it should not take scrollbar.
I have gone through many websites where they fix the table body height and if the content exceeds that height it takes the scrollbar.
So I don't want table body height to be fixed because when there is less content in the table body it will take the fixed table body size it look odd. Thanks in advance.

Scrollable tables aren't the most fun to play around with, so I've added a snippet that should get you moving along.
$(document).ready(function(){
if( $('#results tr').length >= 5 ) {
$('#myTable').addClass('add-scroll');
}
});
.add-scroll {
overflow-y: scroll;
height: 100px;
}
#results tr td {
width: 33%;
}

You have to count the number of rows then add class when the rows are greater than 5.
$(document).ready(function(){
var rowCount = $('tbody tr').length;
if(rowCount > 5){
console.log(rowCount);
$('table').addClass('do-scroll');
}
});
.do-scroll{
width: 100%;

display: -moz-grid;
overflow-y: scroll;

When trying remove last tr from tbody and check the width and button position.

Change the Grid class to col-sm-12 and make the width of the table to 100%.

How can I add text to a cell using d3?
I have a function with the code that needs to be added and I'm calling this in the body of the html page. I have the following code as an example but it doesn't seem to be working.
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<link rel="stylesheet" href ="styles.css">
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://d3js.org/d3.v4.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
function t1(){
d3.select("td#target").text("14");
}
</script>
</head>
<body onload="t1()">
<table>
<tr>
<th>Name</th>
<th>Surname</th>
<th>Age</th>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Tom</td>
<td>Smith</td>
<td is="target"> </td>
</tr>
</table>
</body>
</html>
Any ideas on how to make this work.
It is a small mistake..
change <td is="target">into <td id="target">
I found the solution. I figured out I had just a typo
<td is="target"> </td>
Should be
<td id="target"> </td>
I've been trying to get the actual rows to be hyperlinked (clickable) but it seems they don't want to be active links, I've searched around on Google and websites say to use the "a href" which I've done but for some reason it isn't working for me, this is a bootstrap layout, if anyone could help me please that would be fantastic, thank you very much
Edit: I've tried adding the "class='clickable-row' data-href='url://link-for-first-row/'" to the tr element but it still doesn't appear to be working, I did try to update the jsfiddle link but when I try to save it to post the link here the jsfiddle data wipes from my screen.
https://jsfiddle.net/r6wctrwk/
<div class="container">
<table class="table table-bordered">
<thead>
<tr>
<th>Firstname</th>
<th>Lastname</th>
</tr>
</thead>
<tbody>
<a href="#">
<tr>
<td>John</td>
<td>Doe</td>
</tr>
</a>
<a href="#">
<tr>
<td>Mary</td>
<td>Moe</td>
</tr>
</a>
<a href="#">
<tr>
<td>July</td>
<td>Dooley</td>
</tr>
</a>
</tbody>
</table>
</div>
As per my comment, here is how the link provided by akash will work.
Sample Code:
<html>
<head>
<script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.11.3.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://code.jquery.com/ui/1.9.2/jquery-ui.js"></script>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://code.jquery.com/ui/1.9.2/themes/base/jquery-ui.css">
</head>
<body>
<table>
<tbody>
<tr class='clickable-row' data-href='http://google.com'>
<td>Column 1</td>
<td>Column 2</td>
<td>Column 3</td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table>
<script>
jQuery(document).ready(function($) {
$(".clickable-row").click(function() {
alert("click");
window.document.location = $(this).data("href");
});
});
</script>
</body>
</html>
You can include style something like this
<style>
.clickable-row:hover{
text-decoration: underline;
cursor: pointer;
}
</style>
