Streampipes MYSQL Set Adapter - Stream Adapter - mysql

I am trying to connect Apache streampipes with a MySQL Database.
I am getting the following :
org.apache.streampipes.connect.api.exception.AdapterException: Could not connect to server: The server time zone value 'EEST' is unrecognized or represents more than one time zone. You must configure either the server or JDBC driver (via the serverTimezone configuration property) to use a more specifc time zone value if you want to utilize time zone support.
How can i solve it ?
Thanks

mysql workbench needs serverTimezone

I am just trying to commect locally to a mysql schema, called booksdb, on localhost and the following URL is not working:
jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/booksdb
Specifically I got the following error:
java.sql.SQLException: The server time zone value 'GMT Summer Time' is unrecognized or represents more than one time zone. You must configure either the server or JDBC driver (via the 'serverTimezone' configuration property) to use a more specifc time zone value if you want to utilize time zone support.

However, if I use the following one it works:
jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/booksdb?serverTimezone=UTC
I am using mysql workbench on win10. I have to use this trick on every DB I create.. is there a way to fix it?

MySQL Connector Java 8.0.18 - Time Zone is unrecognized

I am working on upgrading existing libraries in our code and mysql-connector-java is one of them. We currently use the version: 5.1.25, I am trying to upgrade it to the latest version which is 8.0.18. I got some errors regarding to package structure changes but I've corrected them.
When I run the application (directly goes go database for authorization) I get following error:
The server time zone value 'CEST' is unrecognized or represents more than one time zone. You must configure either the server or JDBC driver (via the serverTimezone configuration property) to use a more specifc time zone value if you want to utilize time zone support.
After some research I've found this question and realized I have to specify server time zone. Our database both on development and production environment configured as CEST time zone but when I add "serverTimeZone = CEST" to connection string I get following error:
No timezone mapping entry for 'CEST'
If I specify like "serverTimeZone = UTC", it works but confuses me also.
Why should I say UTC even though it is CEST? Time zone in my local system is UTC, is it the reason that I have to force it to UTC? If so, we have users all around the world, so bunch of request from different time zones will come to the DB server, if I say serverTimeZone = UTC, isn't it going to be a problem for them?

My problem
MySQL connector "The server time zone value Central European Time" is unrecognized or represents more than one time zone.
The project
Small web Project with:
JavaEE, Tomcat 8.5, MySQL, Maven
My attempt
Maven -> change MySQL-connector form 6.x to 5.1.39 (no change)
Edit context.xml URL change
Connection in context.xml
URL="jdbc: mysql://127.0.0.1:3306/rk_tu_lager?useLegacyDatetimeCode=false;serverTimezone=CEST;useSSL=false;
Error:

Thank you Mark Rotteveel and Gord Thompson
I have the connection in an XML file, with & and Europe/Amsterdam finally works.
url="jdbc:mysql://127.0.0.1:3306/rk_tu_lager?useLegacyDatetimeCode=false&serverTimezone=Europe/Amsterdam&useSSL=false"
Thank you, you are great
I faced this issue when I upgraded my mysql server to SQL Server 8.0 (MYSQL80).
The simplest solution to this problem is just write the below command in your MYSQL Workbench -
SET GLOBAL time_zone = '+5:30'
The value after the time-zone will be equal to GMT+/- Difference in your timezone. The above example is for India(GMT+5:30).
It will solve the issue.
Find what is the timezone you are in and replace +00:00 with your timezone.
SET ##global.time_zone = '+00:00';
SET ##session.time_zone = '+00:00';
Then check if the values were set:
SELECT ##global.time_zone, ##session.time_zone;
If you are using MySQL client eg. DBeaver you should change settings of your connection. So, click right click mouse on the connection and click Edit Connection. Then, edit your driver properties which are located under the "Connection settings", go to the bottom of settings and click "Add new property", add serverTimezone as your new property name and enter value eg. Europe/Warsaw.
That's all.

Connection Exception In Jmeter

I am just setting up a JDBC connection using Jmeter and MySQL.
I downloaded the jar file and placed the same file in Lib folder of Jmeter.
After that, I created a JDBC Connection Configuration and JDBC request.
I have also added a View result tree listener.
When I am running the request getting following error:
"Cannot create PoolableConnectionFactory (The server time zone value 'EDT' is unrecognized or represents more than one time zone. You must configure either the server or JDBC driver (via the serverTimezone configuration property) to use a more specifc time zone value if you want to utilize time zone support.)"please refer to image
In MySQL you can define time zone in database URL, it is been reported as an issue here
You can add to JMeter's JDBC Database URL field at the end ?serverTimezone=UTC

How can I tell mysql the timezone throught connection string?

For some reason I am getting this error while trying to start my java app.
java.sql.SQLException: The server time zone value 'AEDT' is
unrecognized or represents more than one time zone. You must configure
either the server or JDBC driver (via the serverTimezone configuration
property) to use a more specifc time zone value if you want to utilize
time zone support.
I would like to be able to change the timezone on the connection string. So far I tried this:
javax.persistence.jdbc.url"
value="jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/returnit?useLegacyDatetimeCode=false&serverTimezone=UTC"
and this:
javax.persistence.jdbc.url"
value="jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/returnit?useLegacyDatetimeCode=false&serverTimezone=Australia/Sydney"
But for some reason mysql is not picking up the timezone and still complains about AEDT?
Mysql connector version is 6.0.6
System I am running in MacOS
Mysql version is
QUESTION: Any idea about how to setup serverTimezone through connection string?
thank you very much
this is an example of a connection string specifying serverTimezone:
"jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/returnit?useSSL=false&useUnicode=true&serverTimezone=UTC"
