I hope someone could help me with this thanks
I used characters ()() to split out into a new column to capture specific information for example ()info 1(), this works fine the new column now has info 1 as expected however the characters ()() needs be used more than once so when ()info 2() is entered it over writes info 1. is there a way to stop this from happening so it keeps a running history?
example of what I have
1.Case
2.when Trim(Split([column name],"()",2))!='0' Then Trim(Split([column name],"()",2))
3.End

I have the following problem with my VI, which I could not solve by myself or research:
When running the VI, the data should be stored in a .csv-File. In the pictures, you can see the block diagram. When running, it produces the following file:
Test Steady State
T_saug_1/T_saug_2/Unbelegt/Unbelegt/T_ND/T_HD/T_Wasser_ein/T_Wasser_aus/T_front/T_back/T-right/T-left
18,320 18,491 20,873 20,838 20,463 20,969 20,353 20,543 20,480 20,618
20,618 20,238
As you can see, the data gets stored only in the first column (in the preview of the post it looks like it is a row, but it is really a column; T steady state is the header). But these temperatures are not the temperatures of the first sensor, it somehow stored the value for every sensor in the respective row. When the first row was filled, it stopped storing data entirely. I did not figure out how I could insert a file here, otherwise I would have done so... I want to store the data for each sensor in the associated column.
Another problem I have: the waveform-chart, which shows all the temperatures, only updates every 4-6 seconds. Not only is the interval between every update not always the same, but from my understanding it should update every second since the while-loop has a wait-timer set to 1000ms. I don't know what my mistake here is...
Please let me know if you have any ideas on how to solve the problems I have or suggestions where I could find answers to my questions. I am very new to LabVIEW, I am sorry if this question is silly.
With best regards an thank you for the patient help,
lempy.

The Write Delimited Spreadsheet VI has two boolean inputs: Append to file? and transpose?
Append to file? is not set for the first write, which defaults to FALSE. That means, on each write, the file is overwritten. For the second and third call, it is set to TRUE, so those data is appended.
The most simple solution is to put the first two write functions outside the main loop. This overwrites the file at start of the VI with the headers, and values will be appended as desired.
transpose? will swap rows and columns. Wire TRUE to it, and check if it works.
About your second question:
A loop runs as fast as the slowest process inside. If the graph is updated every 6s only, something takes 6s to complete. My guess is that those temperature readings take so long...
I have this setup like in illustration attached, hope it clear enough. I load all xls files in loop from given folder.
While implementing new Derived Column box to record FileName from my loop I got truncation error. My variable initially was set to CCS.xls (Len=7, shortest name ).
I tried to increase Length in Derived Column Editor but failed to do this, as it's not active, I can't not type anything there, then I track that that original Length came from Variables value. In Variable windows I have DataType = String and no any option to set length.
So for now I made dummy empty file with looong CCS____1.xls name to avoid this problem and it works OK. But want to learn other good way to avoid this problem, looks like in this setup for data connection I need to use file with longest name (?)
You can change the Length property to 50 or larger manually in Advanced Editor.
Right-Click on the Derived column->Show Advanced Editor->Input and Output Properties->Derived Column Output->Output Columns->the new Column->Data Type Properties->Length
I am trying to update the textbox for the current request that I have opened. After making changes to the bound textbox (regardless of the record number current being edited) it modifies the tblVendorRequests.VendorDiscussionNotes for the newest request created within the table.
My form is a Single Form
My record source for my form is a table (tblVendorRequests)
My textbox (txtVenConLog) is using tblVendorRequests.VendorDiscussionNotes as its control source
For instance, say I am trying to add notes "Hello World" to request number 242. Request 242's notes remain the same, but the "Hello World is added to the newest record instead (overwriting the existing text that was in the request).
I have done a good amount of searching on the topic, and have not found a satisfactory answer on why this would be.
Any ideas would highly appreciated!
I redesigned my form to split the functions into 2 separate forms and that seems to have resolved the issue. I believe the issue was that when I 'opened' a record, it was not behaving like it would if the record-opening function resulted in calling a form to open with specific criteria.
I'm new to MySQL and I am facing a little problem that I couldn't find an answer to in any previous thread here, so I was hoping someone could help, okay here it is:
When typing a request on mysql (on the terminal) you can just press enter to make it stand on many lines instead of one, but how do you get back to a previous line ?
I tried the arrow buttons and it didn't work, neither did the backspace button, any help is welcome, thank you in advance!
The mysql command uses the readline library. Each input line is edited independently, so once you press Return you can no longer go back and modify that line. The arrow keys will recall the line, but it's inserted into the current line being edited, and appends to the query.
So the solution is to NOT press Return until you've finished typing the whole query.
If you mean to show previously entered lines in order to send them again, according to the MySQL website, it should work via the up/down keys.
[...] the up-arrow and down-arrow keys move up and down through the set of previously entered line

i'm working in a symfony project and using sfPropelPager to show a paged list of elements.
The problem is that with a great amount of data to list (i.e. thousands of registers) it makes a query to the database for each page to show!!!! That means about 100 extra queries in my case, and that is unacceptable.
Showing some of my code: the function that returns the pager object
$pager = new sfPropelPager('MyTable',sfConfig::get('sfPropelPagerLines'));
$c = new Criteria();
$c->add('my_table_field',$value);
$c->addDescendingOrderByColumn('date');
$pager->setCriteria($c);
$pager->init();
return $pager;
So, please, if you know a way to get all the results with only one query, it would be a great solution for my problem. Otherwise i must implement that list with an ajax call for every page the user wants to see
Thank you very much for your time.
I'm not sure to get your problem but, anyway, avoid the use of Criteria. Try to make queries with the ModelCriteria API: http://www.propelorm.org/reference/model-criteria.html.
For each paginated page, a query to the database will be done, this is the standard behavior for all pagers I know. If it's related to related objects (assuming you want to display information from relations), you may want to create a query that links those objects before to paginate, that way you'll get one query per page for all your data to display.
Read this doc for instance: http://www.propelorm.org/documentation/03-basic-crud.html#query_termination_methods
At last i did'nt get a solution for the problem, i had to implement the list via AJAX call, calling to a function that returns the requested page, so at the load of the page, no query for this list is slowing the user experience.
Thank you anyway to help me :)
