i am new to this and this is my requirement.
i need to create a folder for my team and have reports available there instead of sharing them to my inbox.
we do have a BO admin team, so where should they create a folder and how I need to save/publish this report over there.
please help
You just need a network folder to which the user the SIA is running as (see below) and your team both have access.
Then choose "File System" as your destination when scheduling. We use a system user for the credentials in the schedule. You do not want to schedule with a regular user and then have your scheduled reports fail when that user gets disabled when they leave your company.
It is possible that you may not see "File System" in the list of destinations. If that is the case your admin team will need to add it as a valid destination within the system's AdaptiveJobServer (CMC -> Servers).

There's one special folder that I need everyone as collaborators. I can add all existing members but would like it be automatically done for all future new members.
I know I could write an app using Box API to check for new members and then add collaboration through API, but just want to know if there's a simpler solution - just create a folder and apply some settings, then new members could be automatically invited.
Thanks a lot!
Is your account enabled for single sign on? If so you can pass the group membership via SAML and assign the folder you wish all users to be collaborated on to that group.
For instance you could create an "All Users" group on Box (Admin Cosole >> Users and Groups) and then assign it your "All Users Default Folder" then pass this "All Users" group name as an attribute in your SAML assertion.
If you do not have single sign on enabled I would still recommend collaborating new users by group membership but you will need to perform two steps
1. Create a new user
2. Add the user to the "All Users" group
These functions can both be done via the API. It just depends how you are currently provisioning seats to your Box account.
Is it possible in BusinessObjects 4.0/4.1 to do the following:
Create a report in PDF format
Transfer and store the report on some Windows Share folder
Schedule this process
It this is possible, can anyone give short guidelines on how to do it? Thanks!
Sure, that's basic scheduling functionality.
From Launchpad, right-click on the report and hit "Schedule".
Click the recurrence tab to set the scheduling recurrence.
Click the Formats tab and select Acrobat.
Click the Destinations tab and select File System.
One important note on Destinations -- you can optionally enter the Windows user name and password that will be used to connect to the file share when the report is generated. You can leave this blank, in which case the BO server will connect to the file share as the account that BO runs as (that is, the user name that the SIA service runs as). In this case, the service account must have r/w permission to the file share. On the other hand, if you enter credentials manually, you need to make sure that any recurring schedules get updated if/when you change the accounts password, else the account will quickly get locked out (I know from experience....)
For more info, click the Help menu in Launchpad, then review the section on Scheduling Objects.
I am trying to get security on Reporting services set up. I have installed reporting services with all the defaults and I was able to create and publish a report. Using the link [http://server/reports] I was able to view that report. Bearing in mind that i am in the domain administrators group.
I then asked a non domain admin user to review the report but they got the message: • The permissions granted to user 'DOMAIN_ABC\username' are insufficient for performing this operation. (rsAccessDenied)
It then dawned on me that I would need to set up security by assigning the 'Browser' role to DOMAIN_ABC\Domain Users.
At that point I realized that I had no way of interfacing with the security side of things as none of the Home, My Subscriptions, Site Settings tabs were displaying (as is the case with a 2005 RS deployment we have). Thus began my search for how to get the 'admin' view into the environment to enable security and access. I have thus far been unsuccessful so far, I have tried running IE as the 'Administrator', added the server to my 'Trusted' sites list. Checked the RS config file, set the Service Account to 'Local Service' but still no joy. Does anyone know what I may try?
Thanks in Advance,
Jonathan
You can not view the admin settings unless u got that permission.
Only Report manager administrator can create roles and users from report manager url [http://localhost/Reports/] then go to site settings ----> security,----> new role assignment.
If the user in system Administration group then only he can view the site settings option in the home page, If the user is on other group like content manager /System user then he can not view the site settings option.
You need to first add the user in the System Administrator group.then he can view all these settings.
Hope this helps...
I've noticed the doclist api has become deprecated and I'm trying to transfer shared files from 1 user to another.
In Doclist(depricated):
https://developers.google.com/google-apps/documents-list/#using_google_apps_administrative_access_to_impersonate_other_domain_users
Example :
Employee A: Stopped working at the company.
Employee B: New owner of Employee A's files.
Employee C:Admin
I know the admin(User C) has a menu where he can transfer the ownership of the files from user A to user B. But this does not transfer the files that used to be shared with user A.
I would like to make an application wich transfers the files shared with user A and shares them to user C. This has to be done by the admin(user C).
I already know how to transfer the ownership if user A is logged on. But in most cases this is not possible.
*I would like to know if there's a way to get the files shared with user A to be shared with user B without authenticating user A?*
If files are shared with User A, it should be the owner or other editors that share the file with user B again. If user A is only reader on a file, user A can't re-share the file. Also if the owner of the file set the sharing permissions not to allow editors to share the file again, user A could not share the file.
The best way to resolve this would be by procedure:
If the files are shared using folders or groups, swap out user A for user B
If you can logon as user A, run a script to create a listing of all documents shared with A and share this listing with B and have B request access to the documents from the document owners.
The technical option to do this, which is quite nasty, is to write some code (i.e. in Java) that:
impersonates the user using a service account (some sample code here:
Google Drive service account returns 403 usageLimits),
get all the files
(https://developers.google.com/drive/v2/reference/files/list),
determine the owner
impersonate every owner to reshare the file with the user (https://developers.google.com/drive/v2/reference/permissions/update)
We have several Collections in our TFS 2010 server.
This server hosts all of our TFS related services.
I'd like to allow a specific programmer to create Team Projects within his dedicated collection.
He belongs to the collection's TFS administrators group.
When he tries to create a new Team Project, it fails with a Reporting permissions error.
I understand that he also needs Reporting services permissions to create the relevant Reporting objects for the new Team Project, but I don't want him to be a full admin for the whole server's Reporting Services.
Is there a way to allow him the full ability to create new Team Projects without making a full Reporting Services admin?

To grant administrative permissions for a team project collection in Reporting Services
Start Internet Explorer.
In the Address bar, type the following URL, where ReportServer is the name of the server that is running Reporting Services: http://ReportServer/Reports/Pages/Folder.aspx
Click the Properties tab, and then click New Role Assignment.
In Group or User Name, type the name of the account for the user or group to whom you want grant administrative permissions.
In Role, click Team Foundation Content Manager, and then click OK.
The one thing missing in the manual, is that you need to do this for /TfsReports/[collectionname] while setting stop security inheratence.
