container-fluid a ul

Automatic margin on the start and end sides does the trick. Bootstrap's horizontal margin class mx-auto works, too. This is just implementation of the standard CSS centering technique using Bootstrap classes.

you want to center your menu items, all of them are placed in div.collapse so adding justify-content:center; to it will help you,,, BUT it didn't work for you because div.collapse is not a flexbox! so adding justify-content:center; ALONE, won't has any effect
you need to add d-flex class to it too so it can work properly
here in this code I've added d-lg-flex assuming you want your items to be centered in larger than lg breakpoint, this can help you :
<!-- Bootstrap-5 -->
<link href="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/bootstrap#5.0.2/dist/css/bootstrap.min.css" rel="stylesheet" integrity="sha384-EVSTQN3/azprG1Anm3QDgpJLIm9Nao0Yz1ztcQTwFspd3yD65VohhpuuCOmLASjC" crossorigin="anonymous">
<!-- Body -->
<nav class="navbar navbar-expand-lg navbar-light bg-light">
<div class="container-fluid">
<a class="navbar-brand" href="#"></a>
<button class="navbar-toggler" type="button" data-bs-toggle="collapse" data-bs-target="#navbarNav" aria-controls="navbarNav" aria-expanded="false" aria-label="Toggle navigation">
<span class="navbar-toggler-icon"></span>
</button>
<div class="collapse navbar-collapse d-lg-flex justify-content-center" id="navbarNav">
<ul class="navbar-nav">
<li class="nav-item text-center">
<a class="nav-link active" aria-current="page" href="#">Home</a>
</li>
<li class="nav-item">
<a class="nav-link" href="#">Features</a>
</li>
<li class="nav-item">
<a class="nav-link" href="#">Pricing</a>
</li>
<li class="nav-item">
<a class="nav-link disabled">Disabled</a>
</li>
</ul>
</div>
</div>
</nav>
if you want your items to be centered in all devices simply remove -lg from d-lg-flex in div.collapse element

How do you align Bootstrap 5 navbar items to the right? In Bootstrap 4 it's ml-auto. But not work for Bootstrap 5.

Bootstrap 5 no longer use ml and mr -- instead they swapped it out for ms (margin start) and me (margin end) to account for RTL support. Obviously in RTL right and left are swapped but start and end still makes sense in this context

Well you can't do such thing inside of a single flex (it might be possible using margin auto but I'm not sure about it) but using two nested flex boxes can help you
here in this code I used the div.collapse as first flexbox and ul.navbar-nav as the second one
<nav class="navbar navbar-expand-lg navbar-light bg-light">
<div class="container-fluid">
<a class="navbar-brand" href="#">Navbar</a>
<button class="navbar-toggler" type="button" data-bs-toggle="collapse" data-bs-target="#navbarSupportedContent" aria-controls="navbarSupportedContent" aria-expanded="false" aria-label="Toggle navigation">
<span class="navbar-toggler-icon"></span>
</button>
<div class="collapse justify-content-between navbar-collapse" id="navbarSupportedContent">
<ul class="navbar-nav w-100 justify-content-center mb-2 mb-lg-0">
<li class="nav-item">
<a class="nav-link active" aria-current="page" href="#">Services</a>
</li>
<li class="nav-item">
<a class="nav-link" aria-current="page" href="#">The team</a>
</li>
<li class="nav-item">
<a class="nav-link" aria-current="page" href="#">Contact Us</a>
</li>
</ul>
<div class="d-flex">
<button class="btn btn-outline-success" type="submit">Login</button>
</div>
</div>

Here is a live demonstration of how it works, let me know if you meant something else

I am trying to float a logo to the left side of a nav bar, and have the text float to the right of the nav bar. I am trying to accomplish this through bootstrap. I have tried adding float and text align classes to outer divs and specific elements. I have shown my code below, keep in mind it is not meant to be run.
//not meant to be run
//bootstrap is not hooked up
<div class = "row col-12">
<div class = "float-left col-3">
<img>
</div>
<div class = "float-right col-9">
<nav class = "nav text-right">
<a class = "homen" href="home.html">Home</a>
<a class = "aboutn" href="about.html">About</a>
<a class = "teamn" href="team.html">Team</a>
<a class = "contactn" href="contact.html">Contact Us</a>
</nav>
</div>
</div>
You can use Flexbox utilitys. For example use justify-content-end on the collapse menu:

<div class="collapse navbar-collapse justify-content-end" id="navbarNavAltMarkup">

<a class="nav-link" href="#">About</a>

Also note, as of Bootstrap 5 ml-auto has been replaced with ms-auto
This is from official Bootstrap documentation. It uses display: flex design and if you want to align menu to left again, you can change mr-auto with me-auto. This is also responsive code with hidden button which can only come with mobile screens.
<nav class="navbar navbar-expand-lg navbar-light bg-light">
<div class="container-fluid">
<a class="navbar-brand" href="#"><img src="logo.svg" alt="logo" /></a>

<li class="nav-item">
<a class="nav-link" href="#"> Pricing</a>
</li>
<li class="nav-item">
<a class="nav-link" href="#"> download</a>
</li>
</ul>
</div>
</div>
i have put all other elements nicely!
can you guys give me a way or modify this code for my purpose?
The code above aligned it to the right for me when I tried it but I had to close out <nav>. In your code, you forgot to close it out with </nav>. Also, make sure you linked the bootstrap CDN properly by adding <link rel="stylesheet" href="https://stackpath.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/4.3.1/css/bootstrap.min.css" integrity="sha384-ggOyR0iXCbMQv3Xipma34MD+dH/1fQ784/j6cY/iJTQUOhcWr7x9JvoRxT2MZw1T" crossorigin="anonymous"> in the head of your html.I fixed the toggle button which wasn't working in smaller screens. Here is my code with the bootstrap style sheet included. Copy it and run it to see if it works for you.
<nav class="navbar navbar-expand-sm fixed-top navbar-dark bg-dark">
<div class="container">
<a class="navbar-brand text-white" href="#" >tinDog</a>

Add justify-content: center; to your navbarNav id.
Bootstrap has a helper class for that to add to the navbar which is
justify-content-center
Here's a link to the documenation: http://getbootstrap.com/docs/4.1/utilities/flex/
<link href="https://stackpath.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/4.1.3/css/bootstrap.min.css" rel="stylesheet" />
<nav class="navbar navbar-expand-lg navbar-light bg-light">
<a class="navbar-brand" href="#">Navbar</a>
<button class="navbar-toggler" type="button" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#navbarNav" aria-controls="navbarNav" aria-expanded="false" aria-label="Toggle navigation">
<span class="navbar-toggler-icon"></span>
</button>
<div class="collapse navbar-collapse justify-content-center" id="navbarNav">
<ul class="navbar-nav">
<li class="nav-item active">
<a class="nav-link" href="#">Home <span class="sr-only">(current)</span></a>
</li>
<li class="nav-item">
<a class="nav-link" href="#">Features</a>
</li>
<li class="nav-item">
<a class="nav-link" href="#">Pricing</a>
</li>
<li class="nav-item">
<a class="nav-link disabled" href="#">Disabled</a>

</ul>
</div>

This could do the trick. Take a look at the code below:
.navbar-nav {
float:none;
margin:0 auto;
display: block;
text-align: center;
}
.navbar-nav > li {
display: inline-block;
float:none;
}
.navbar-brand {
margin-top: -2px; /* to set it to the same position (height) as the nav-items */
}
<script src="https://stackpath.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/4.1.3/js/bootstrap.min.js"></script>
<link href="https://stackpath.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/4.1.3/css/bootstrap.min.css" rel="stylesheet"/>
<nav class="navbar navbar-expand-lg navbar-light bg-light">
<button class="navbar-toggler" type="button" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#navbarNav" aria-controls="navbarNav" aria-expanded="false" aria-label="Toggle navigation">
<span class="navbar-toggler-icon"></span>
</button>
<div class="collapse navbar-collapse" id="navbarNav">
<ul class="navbar-nav">
<li>
<a class="navbar-brand" href="#">Navbar</a>
</li>
<li class="nav-item active">
<a class="nav-link" href="#">Home <span class="sr-only">(current)</span></a>
</li>
<li class="nav-item">
<a class="nav-link" href="#">Features</a>
</li>
<li class="nav-item">
<a class="nav-link" href="#">Pricing</a>
</li>
<li class="nav-item">
<a class="nav-link disabled" href="#">Disabled</a>
</li>
</ul>
</div>
</nav>
You have to switch to the expanded view (Full page) to see the result.
<nav class="navbar navbar-expand-lg navbar-light bg-light">
replace this line with below line
<nav class="navbar navbar-expand-lg navbar-light bg-light text-center" style="display:block;">
I hope it's working fine.
