I have uploaded a website to the server but only HTML is shown, CSS is not. The CSS is show, but the CSS I uploaded earlier is shown. The new CSS I uploaded is not showing. But it is showing on my local computer without any problem. It work good in my computer. I tried cleaning the host server and uploading my files again.

I have encountered a problem with the Live server, Live server does not display HTML and CSS properly while opening with File does.
I checked the code but it seems that code hasn't the problem. Is there any bug? because I tried restarting VS code and reinstalling the Live server extension, but it doesn't work.
On the first picture is opened with the file (As it should display), But on the second is opened with the live server, U can clearly see differences.

So I downloaded my own portfolio after making it through a portfolio maker and decided to download it, modify the html files to my liking and then wanted to upload them to a web hoster where I would use my own domain for it, however when I tried uploading my files to the main folder on my website's directory and check the website out it simply shows me a blank page, even though it actually displays my logo on the tab on top. When I open the index.html with Chrome from my local files it displays my website perfectly however when I upload it to my website and try view it that's when I get a problem. I have tried using 2 different web hosters and tried uploading my files through FTP and direct upload and still got the same blank page.
NOTE: I uploaded all the files in my site folder not just the index.html and if it works when I opened it with Chrome I don't see why it wouldn't work on my website.
It looks like you have forgotten to upload some files:
All the ones marked 404 are missing and need to be uploaded.
My first assignment in web programming class is to design a website without browser side and server side script.
I made an HTML 5 document, linked to a CSS file, all of them were validated in W3C validator, everything is good. I test the web page locally on my laptop on Chrome36, Firefox30 and IE11, all good.
But I'm required to upload it to University's server, all good in Chrome and firefox but IE, however I tried to put it on the server on my laptop and access it on IE from University's PC, it behaves all good.

My lecturer says I'll lose mark if it behaves so, what could be the problem and how can I solve it? Do server settings affect html's behave? Thanks!

Maybe the html file can't see your css? Check file path's.
The only change I would see is the file and folder path looks different. Check whether you have used correct file/folder path. Try changing the CSS, JS, images folder path between relative folder path or absolute folder path.
I have a webpage where the images are not being found (running chrome). I synced the remote directory with my local one, so all files should be identical, however I can see the images locally but not on the remote site. Can anyone explain why?
I have the following directory where my index.html is:
icons/circle/*.png, where * is some generic social media i.e. (facebook, twitter, etc.)
using this code to show it on html
<img class="social-media" src="icons/circle/facebook.png">
But it only shows when I view my webpage locally, not when everything is uploaded to the server.

I decided to just create another folder to hold all my icons, now they work for some reason. Still never found out the underlying cause of this.
I have a web application.
I have inserted an image into my web application homepage using html tags.It is working very well in server machine. But when any client is accessing my web page everything that is present in the homepage of the web application is displayed except the image. Instead of image cross mark is displayed in client machine.
Can anybody help me how to display the image in client machine.
Check the path in the src attribute in the img tag. Make sure it's a relative path, and not hard coded to path on your hard drive.
