Using mysql(v8.0.21) image with mac docker-desktop (v4.2.0, Docker-Engine v20.10.10)
As soon service up:
entrypoints ready
innoDB initialization done
ready for connection
But as soon try to run the direct script(query) it crashes, refused to connect (also from phpmyadmin) and restarted again.
terminal log
connection refused for phpMyAdmin
In the logs we are able to see an Error:
[ERROR] [MY-011947] [InnoDB] Cannot open '/var/lib/mysql/ib_buffer_pool' for reading: No such file or directory
The error we are able to see into log is not an issue, as it is fixed and updated by InnoDB already, here is the reference below:
https://jira.mariadb.org/browse/MDEV-11840
Note: docker-compose file we are pretty much sure that, there is no error as same is working fine for windows as well ubuntu, but the issue is only for macOS.
Thanks #NicoHaase and #Patrick for going through the question and suggestions.
Found the reason for connection refused and crashing, posting answer so that it maybe helpful for others.
It was actually due to docker-desktop macOS client there was by default 2GB Memory was allocated as Resource, and for our scenario it was required more than that.
We just allocate more memory according to our requirement and it was just started working perfectly fine.
For resource allocation:
open docker-desktop preferences
resources > advanced

I am using MySQL workbench to connect to my local server. Everything was running fine and suddenly I jumped in a connection refused errors. I tried restarting the server again and again. Clearing temp files and also restarted my machine. I found this post from which I tried a couple of things like net stop and stopping the process from the services list but in the services list it shows as below:
I waited like for 30 mins but still, the service is not stopped.
Also, below is the screenshot for MySQL workbench when I try to start the server:
Is there anything specific which I need to do in order to resolve this error:
So, I resolved my own problem in this way. I referred the documentation for this particular error and for my error which is of 2003 type it said that look for mysqld.exe process in task manager and if you don't find any then start the server. But, in my case I found 2 mysqld.exe processes running. So, I killed those processes and restarted the server. It worked!!
Might help someone someday :)
I have a Laravel app on digital ocean and it runned fine for about 4 days now.
But today when I woke up it suddenly couldn't connect to the DB.
Also when I try to login in phpmyadmin it says
2002 - Connection refused — The server is not responding (or the local server's socket is not correctly configured).
I tried changing localhost to 127.0.0.1 in the config-db.php file and restarting apache, because some guy in their forums had the same problem and said that it fixed it for him, but for me it had no effect.
Other errors I see are
mysqli_real_connect(): (HY000/2002): Connection refused
Connection for controluser as defined in your configuration failed.
mysqli_real_connect(): (HY000/2002): Connection refused
I am certain that no configuration files have been changed, it just stopped working, why that might be, and how to prevent it in the future ?
The OS is Ubutnu 18.04.13 (if it matters)
It would appear as if your MySQL daemon is no longer running.
The hints here are that the Laravel app is not able to reach the MySQL server, and that phpMyAdmin is also unable to reach the MySQL server.
You should look in the MySQL error log for hints. You may also find hints in your syslog, depending on how your system is configured. This could give you information about why the service has stopped. You might also find information in the systemd log, which can probably best be viewed with journalctl -u mysql -b.
You could verify that it's actually stopped with systemctl status mysql, even though it's difficult for me to think of a reason why it would be running correctly but not responding to any connection attempts.
Next, you should probably start the service again with sudo systemctl start mysql. If it fails to start, you'll see some information about why not with information about viewing the log file, which you can copy and paste in to your question to help us further with troubleshooting.
I'm building a NiFi dadaflow, and I need to get the data changes from a MySql database, so I want to use the CaptureChangeMySQL processor to do that.
I get the following error when I run the CaptureChangeMySQL processor and I don't see what's causing this :
Failed to process session due to Could not connect binlog client to any of the specified hosts due to: BinaryLogClient was unable to connect in 10000ms: org.apache.nifi.processor.exception.ProcessException: Could not connect binlog client to any of the specified hosts due to: BinaryLogClient was unable to connect in 10000ms
I have the following controller services enabled :
DistributedMapCacheClientService
DistributedMapCacheServer
But I'm not sure if they are properly configured :
DistributedMapCacheServer properties
DistributedMapCacheClientService properties
In MySql, I have enabled the log_bin variable, by default it wasn't. I checked and I have indeed some binlog files created when data change.
So I think the issue is with the controller services and how they connect, it's not clear to me.
I searched for tutorials about how to use this NiFi processor but I couldt not find how to fix this error. I looked mainly at this one : https://community.hortonworks.com/articles/113941/change-data-capture-cdc-with-apache-nifi-version-1-1.html but it did not helped me.
Does anyone have already use this processor to do CDC?
Thank you in advance.
I found what was wrong : I was trying to connect to the wrong port for the MySQL Host of the CaptureChangeMySQL processor :x
For others who are still facing similar issues, check if the firewall of the server is stopping the connection. Allow mysql 3306 in your firewall rules.
I have set up a micro instance server on amazon EC2.
mysql server fails frequently and due to which I get 'error establishing a database connection' whenever I access my website. To make my website work again, I have to restart mysqld. Here is the error log. Please click the link as i just opened the account on stackoverflow.
I read through other threads here for the same kind of error and accordingly I added a swapfile of 3G but I am still getting the same memory allocation error. Here is my swapfile.
I am not a technical person so please help me figure out how to solve this problem.
sorry for this post that it might be repeated, but I could not quite figure out from the other posts still.
I am unable to log on mysql localhost database, and the server is down says mysql#localhost:3366 - Refusing Connections. In mysql workbench start/shutdown mysql server, it is saying the database server instance is unknown (with start server button grayed out) and refreshing the status doesn't help.
Also, the mysql server should always be running automatically in the background whenever PC is restarted, but it is not showing in the services now.
when I try to execute mysqld from cmd, it just shuts down the server. And responds with
-"The Innodb memory heap is disabled"
-"the system tablespace must be writeable"
-"InnoDB init function returned error"
-"InnoDB registration as a storage engine failed"
Anybody has a solution to this? Thanks much!
Install it. Re-install it, if you're convinced it was already installed. The fact that it isn't even listed in the services suggests otherwise however. If it was installed but wouldn't start it would still show up, but not as started.
