Will old token with Google Contacts API access work for Google People API in the future? - google-contacts-api

We've discovered that old token with the Google Contacts scope https://www.google.com/m8/feeds/ can be used to access Google People API to access user' contacts. Migration guide provided by Google explains what new scopes Google People API needs, but doesn't explain whether the old token can be kept (https://developers.google.com/people/contacts-api-migration).
Keeping the old token is the preferred option because it doesn't require user interaction (user doesn't have to re-authorize his/her Google account on our system).
According to Google - on December 15th - 100% of Contacts API requests will return an error, but what will happen if requests are made to Google People API, but with the Google Contacts access scope?

It will work for reading and writing contacts and contact groups, but not "Other contacts" or directory data. See https://developers.google.com/people/contacts-api-migration#scope_migration

Will the Google Apps Script Contacts Service (ContactsApp) still work after the People API migration?

Google is migrating the Contacts API to the new People API beginning in June 2021. In some of my Google Apps Scripts I use the ContactsApp class from the Contacts Service (https://developers.google.com/apps-script/reference/contacts). Will this service still will work after the migration to the new People API?
Answer:
Apps Script acts as a client to the Contacts API and will receive the same error rates as all other clients.
More Information:
After the sunset of Contacts API, any errors that would be returned when trying to use it will be seen no matter how it is called - be that a client library, the Apps Script wrapper, or just HTTP requests.
Google sent out an email recently informing of the change - and this should have been received regardless of whether they are using Contacts API directly, or have Apps Script projects which use it.
At the moment it doesn't seem that there are any plans for a PeopleService or equivalent - but the Apps Script Advanced Services do have People API integration.
I would also urge you to make a feature request for a PeopleService equivalent of ContactsService, if you would like to see something like this implemented. You can file a feature request for this here on Google's Issue Tracker under the Apps Script Feature Request component.
To answer this question, No. It does not still work. I am in the middle of refactoring my code because it doesn't work anymore. I am trying to get a list of contacts from Google Contacts that have a specific label and now with the migration, I have not idea how to do this.

Google map API key credential additional methods

I have received a Google Map API Key and it seems to work just fine. Looking on the credential page of the GCP I see there are some alternate methods that I don't see documented anywhere. I have attached a screen shot of the specific page I am referring to, but I was wondering if anyone could give me insight on how to use these methods (OAuth and Service Accounts) or where I might find more documentation.
Thank you.
OAuth 2.0 Client IDs and Service Accounts may not be needed for Google Maps APIs. You will only need API keys to authenticate Google Maps APIs requests as explained here, so I think you can ignore the others.
But to give you an insights, as per the documentation here:
OAuths 2.0 Client IDs are used to allow your apps to access other Google Cloud products on behalf of the user.
Service Accounts are accounts that used by an app to make authorized API calls for other Google Cloud products. You can learn more here: https://cloud.google.com/iam/docs/service-accounts

Does a "get which Google groups I'm in" endpoint exist in the Google APIs?

I am working on an application that uses the Google Drive API and needs to match up Google groups and file permissions for authorization purposes. I noticed that in the permissions/list endpoint, you're able to get back the permission IDs of users, groups, or domains that have access to a given file. Does there exist any sort of Google API endpoint that could be used to get the permission IDs of all Google groups a user is currently a member of?

Is there possibility for registering URLs or domains in Google Maps API?

Is there a way to register Authorized URLs in Google Maps via an API?
Currently, I am manually adding URLs through the Google Maps Support portal, but I would like to be able to make an API call when a customer submits a new domain to my service.
Unfortunately, currently there is no way to manage API key restrictions programatically.
There is a feature request in Google issue tracker to make it possible:
https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/35829646
Please star this feature request to add your vote and subscribe to notifications, at the moment it has only 6 stars, not enough to increase its visibility.
Update from Google
The best way to handle thousands of authorized domains is to use an API to programmatically manage your API Keys and their restrictions, and we have recently launched a new service that allows you to do this.
This API is still in Alpha. If you are interested in becoming a Trusted Tester for this service, you can use the following form to sign up, please read the instructions carefully:
https://forms.gle/qx2SMcarWCAsbWVp7
Please note that this API is not part of the Google Maps Platform. After you fill out the form, you will be contacted by the API Keys API team with instructions on how to get started, and how to receive support.
API Keys API is currently free of charge. However, please note that use of Cloud Endpoints may be subject to charges at high traffic volume. You can check the pricing sheet here:

Authentification to Google Drive API with OAuth from Google Apps For Business possible?

I use Google Apps For Business to manage 14 accounts for a domain.
There is the possibility to set a OAuth key and secret for the domain. With this credentials you can access all files from each account without knowing their personal password or oauth credentials.
With the Google Documents List API it was easy to write a small script so that i could back up the data.
Is it possible to back up these files with the new Google Drive Api without knowing each OAuth2 credential?
there is a notion of Service Accounts by which you can reach what you want, have a look at google's docs on this https://developers.google.com/drive/delegation
