How to resolve the Mysql connection issue in Mysql Workbench - mysql

I am new with Mysql and I have installed Mysql Workbench to practice queries. The issue I am facing is that after installation I have imported sql file and then try to connect to database. Could anyone please help me in guiding to connect and setup a database connection. I have read installation articles online but still the issue is not resolved.
I have added screenshots below so that I can show you what I am getting.
in first pic it says database and ssl connection error. This happens when I try to connect to database after importing sql file.

Installed Mysql, Wordpress, and WAMP server. Create database failed to exist even though phpMyAdmin showed it created

I installed MySql community server on Windows 10 Home. Then, I installed WAMP server 64 to setup an Apache php server. Finally, I installed Wordpress where my problem arose. All products are current releases just downloaded.
During installation of Wordpress, phpMyAdmin says the database was created and it shows on the left panel. The name is wordpress_db. MySQL Query Workbench doesn't find it with a SQL show databases command. Wordpress gave an error "not found". I finally manually created the db in MySQL Workbench, rebooted, and after restarting Wordpress on the Apache server created I was able to finish the installation. There were no errors showing with the db create from phpMyAdmin and it allowed me to set privileges for users without a problem. I can't explain what happened and don't particularly like mysteries that just go away. They always com back to haunt you!
Can anyone shed any light on what happened during the installation and db_create?
Thanks in advance for anyone who looks at this.
Update
I uninstalled and reinstalled and the problems went away. Now I am running a MySQL instance that isn't distributed directly from the vendor and I lost some of the things that come with MySQLcommunity server.
One thing to note - the installation docs don't tell you to change the port on MariaDB from 3306 to something else using phpMyAdmin when you are using MySql. Once i changed the port, the server instances instantly popped up green. They were initially orange.
thanks

Mysql workbench loses connection after restarting computer

I have installed Mysql server and mysql workbench and have successfully used mysql workbench to work with my databases. I used it and have since then closed the program and shut off my computer. Now when I click on my connection, it shows a server status screen and says 'no connection'. I get error message 10061 could not connect server may not be running. This is the second time this happened to me and I find that reinstalling mysql fixes this. The problem is I cannot reinstall every time I need to use mysql workbench. What can I do to solve this?

The mysqli error was: Unknown database

I am importing a mysql database from the webserver to my local system for a migration from drupal 6 to drupal 8.
I did an Export with phpmyadmin on the server. Then I created the database locally also with phpmyadmin and imported my dump from the server via phpmyadmin's import function.
Then I created the user with the setting of my drupal 6 configuration.
I can see the database in phpmyadmin if I connect with my local root user.
I cannot connect with the user created from the settings ( lets call that the drupal_db_user)
If I call the drupal site on my local apache ( apache & mysql server are running or my phpmyadmin would not work) I get the messeage from drupal:
"The mysqli error was: Unknown database 'my_drupal_db'."
Via Mysqlworkbench I am also not able to conntect to the my_drupal_db with the drupal_db_user.
I use locally php 5.6 and mysql 5.6 on a ubuntu system.
Creating the user and db via mysql console also did not help.
Any clue what might be wrong here? I suspect it could be the password encryption, but I have no clue how to check / change that other than trying the two options phpmyadmin (version 4.6) is offering me.
I guess you dont need to backup on your pc as the files that you exported from server is a backup on its own. Just download the sql file update to drupal 8 and finally import the file and you should have it installed.
Or simply try importing the exported file from server to another subdomain drupal 8 as a test. To check If it really works.
Found the problem.
after at least 3 hours poking around and cursing.....
When I created the database locally I had by mistake an whitespace in front of the db name.
Which by the way was possible... I didn't know you could even create databases with whitespaces in the name.
What let me find the error was this post:
https://drupal.stackexchange.com/questions/27050/fatal-error-pdoexception-sqlstate42000-1049-unknown-database
and the hint with this query:
SELECT * FROM my_drupal_db.users
which of course failed and made me really question the database name.
Hope that helps someone else saving 3 hours!

connect to mysql with wavemaker

I have recently downloaded Wavemaker because I feel it best suites my needs, however when I try and connect to my database on a mysql server hosted with godaddy, I keep getting access denied. However I can connect using exactly the same loggin info for sql workbench and razorsql just to see if I had my credentials correct and I have no problem connecting using those other two tools, is it me or is wavemaker being a pain?
Did you remember to install the MySQL JDBC DRIVER?
If not you can get it from the MySQL site, or install it on your Linux machine using the appropriate install commands. I had the same problem and after installing the driver everything worked great.
I'm posting my WaveMaker MySQL connection info (the database properties file) in hopes it might help:
