I receive the following error when I try to debug a program in Freedom Studio using the QEMU configuration:
C:\[...]\freedomstudio\SiFive\riscv-qemu-4.2.0-2020.04.0\bin\qemu-system-riscv64.exe: -readconfig bsp\qemu-sifive-s51\qemu.cfg: read config bsp\qemu-sifive-s51\qemu.cfg: No such file or directory
However, I can find this file in the exact folder indicated, with the following address:
C:\[...]\freedomstudio\SiFive\freedom-e-sdk-v20.05.00.02\bsp\qemu-sifive-s51\qemu.cfg
Is this the wrong bsp folder? Should there be something under SiFive\riscv-qemu-4.2.0-2020.04.0 instead of SiFive\freedom-e-sdk-v20.05.00.02? I double checked the "Let's Get Started" menu in case I disabled something to do with QEMU, and I've tried to debug multiple default Hello projects with the following settings:
Redownloading/reinstalling QEMU and Freedom Studio did not solve this error. Is there anything else I can try?

I would like to generate a CHM help file with HelpNDoc.
But I get an error message:
HHC5010: Error: Cannot open "c:\users\philippeDocuments\HelpNDoc\Output\chm\creabook.chm". Compilation stopped.
I tried to create the CHM folder myself, in the "Output" folder but no result.
I'm running Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS and using Wine as a Windows emulator.
Maybe it's an authorization issue?
What is surprising is that I was able to generate the Word and html documentation.
Is someone can help me ?
I do not use Ubuntu or Wine as an environment and would like to recommend a machine with Windows for compiling CHM help files.
Despite the close connection of CHM help files with the Windows operating system, I do not want to completely exclude the possibility of compiling in a Wine environment.
My good old compiler Error Message Reference shows the following:
HHC5010: Cannot open ""file name"". Compilation stopped.
Problem: The specified file either doesn't exist, or another program has it open and is denying permission to read the file.
Result: The .chm file is corrupt and cannot be used.
Solution: If another program does have the file open, close the program. Otherwise either correct the name in your project file or remove it.
Please make sure that the CHM help file "c:\users\philippeDocuments\HelpNDoc\Output\chm\creabook.chm" is not open in Wine's HTML help viewer by using e.g. wine hh creabook.chm.
Please also try if you can open another CHM help file in your environment. Maybe you have to specify a windows path, e.g.
wine hh.exe `winepatch -w /some/dir/somefile.chm`
As mentioned above, this is somewhat problematic outside of Windows.

I wrote my HelloWorld.cs using MonoDevelop, and Gtk# 2.0. It runs fine in the debugger, and it builds HelloWorld.exe. When I run from a terminal window "mono ./HelloWorld.exe" then the program runs as expected so I know it is coded as expected. However when I attempt to run it by double clicking on it from Files (Linux version of Windows Explorer) it opens Archive Manager with an error "An error occurred while loading the archive".
I am using Ubuntu 18.04.02 LTS, if that makes a difference.
I tried creating a link "ln -s ./HelloWorld.exe ./meow", and double clicked on meow, however that also opens Archive Manager with the same error.
I don't want my end product to require the user to open a Terminal window to run my program, what do I do so that the user can double click on my program from Files to run?
EDIT: [18FEB2019]
Thanks Some programmer dude, I like the bundle idea as I may port this project to a different flavor of linux and I hope this gives me a path to get there.
However, I got error:
Failure to load i18n assemblies, the following directories were searched for the assemblies:
Path: .
In Custom mode, you need to provide the directory to lookup assemblies from using -L
ERROR: Couldn't load one or more of the i18n assemblies: Failed to load I18N.dll
I searched and found
https://www.mono-project.com/docs/tools+libraries/tools/mkbundle/
I followed those directions and got stuck at this part
mkbundle -o CacheServer --cross mono-5.8.0-ubuntu-16.04-x64 CacheServer.exe --machine-config /etc/mono/4.5/machine.config
my error is
ERROR: Unable to load assembly `gtk-sharp' referenced by `/home/amccombs/Projects/HelloWorld/HelloWorld/bin/Debug/HelloWorld.exe'
I tried
mkbundle --fetch-target gtk-sharp
with result
Failure to download the specified runtime from https://download.mono-project.com/runtimes/raw/gtk-sharp
I then tried
sudo apt-get install gtk-sharp
with result
E: Unable to locate package gtk-sharp
Files is detecting the .exe extension as an archive, and therefore it opens it with File Roller or similar.
Just right-click the file HelloWorld.exe and select "Open With Other Application", click on "Find New Applications", and then type "mono" and press ENTER. The app will open.
Another possibility is to create a .desktopfile, and place it under ~/.local/share/applications, with this contents:
[Desktop Entry]
Exec=mono %F
MimeType=application/x-ms-dos-executable;
Name=mono
NoDisplay=true
Type=Application
MKBundle creates a native app from a mono application. The downside is that you have to compile both the app and all its dependencies, which can be tricky. In any case, the package you are looking for is gtk-sharp2.
An alternative to MKBundle is to include a text file, say HelloWorld.sh with the contents:
mono HelloWorld.exe
And then make it executable with:
chmod +x HelloWorld.sh
You can then pack both files together (use a .tar.gz target, which preserves attributes such as the executable one), and probably with a README file explaining to double-click HelloWorld.sh.
Or maybe you can pack the .exe with the .desktop file, and explain in the README file where it must be placed.
There are tons of possibilities.
For some time, I've been using some .mex files I created. Now I have a new computer. I copied all the files over and reinstalled Cygwin and Octave. When I try to execute any of the .mex routines I get a message like:
error: testm: /cygdrive/c/A/Cwin/...../quad.mex: failed to load: No such file or directory
The file is definitely there and I'm having no trouble loading .m files from the same directory. It does not say there is anything wrong with the file. I'm guessing this is some sort of configuration problem. I am running Octave 4.2.1. When I start it, I get the following message:
Octave was configured for "x86_64-unknown-cygwin".
Could that have something to do with it? I think I'm developing x64 paranoia, since all my Excel .dll macros no longer work either. Thanks.
I have installed JSlint properly but when I tried to run it I got below error:
[Error 2] The system cannot find the file specified

Not understanding why it's showing this, can anyone please give me the solution
I got this problem as well and I hacked the file JSLint.sublime-build under installed JSLint package directory by replacing /usr/local/bin/node by the path to my node and it works.
Seems you're installing sublime text under windows platform. maybe you need to find the path to your node installation (e.g., C:\Program Files\nodejs\bin\node) and make sure the JSLint package can find it.
jslint most likely must be separately installed on your computer using Node and NPM package manager
Please follow the plug-in installation instructions on the plug-in README.
Here is a guide with some pictures

It seems weird but in my case the solution is different. I was getting following error:
FileNotFoundError: [WinError 3] The system cannot find the path specified: 'c:\\users\\arvind~1\\appdata\\local\\temp\\SublimeLinter3-arvind\\app.js'
I checked the c:\\users\\arvind~1\\appdata\\local\\temp\\ folder and found that it had not SublimeLinter3-arvind folder. I created this folder manually and JSHint it started working..
I am trying to build a Visual Studio Package project via Hudson CI. This is a Visual Studio 2010 project. The project builds fine in my dev box, but for some reason, I keep getting the following error only when building in Hudson:
C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v10.0\VSSDK\Microsoft.VsSDK.targets(378,5): error : Error trying to read the VSIX manifest file "obj\Release\extension.vsixmanifest". The system cannot find the file specified. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070002) [C:\hudson\workspace\MyProject_Daily_Compilation\Source\MyProject.VisualStudio\MyProject.VisualStudio.csproj]
I have verified that the file exists on disk in the following location:
C:\Hudson\workspace\MyProject_Daily_Compilation\Source\MyProject.VisualStudio\obj\Release\extension.vsixmanifest
What could be causing this issue?
You are likely to experience such error if the user you are running your build as does not have administrative privileges.
So there are 2 solutions:
1) Run your build (build server) with administrative privileges.
or if you can't really change the user your build server is running on
2) and you actually don't need to deploy the VS extension on the build server itself, set the DeployExtension property in your *.csproj file to false.
Microsoft.VsSDK.targets sets that property by default to true
<DeployExtension Condition="'$(DeployExtension)' == ''">true</DeployExtension>
but if you don't need to deploy that extension locally (but rather would prefer to get the *.vsix bundle built you can safely put
<PropertyGroup>
<DeployExtension>false</DeployExtension>
</PropertyGroup>
The original error is basically happening because the attempt to get the deployment path fails at some point in the build and disrupts successful vsix package generation. By setting the property to false the build doesn't attempt to deploy the extension locally (but a valid *.vsix is generated)
I am guessing you running hudson as a service. If so the "0x80070002 - The system cannot find specified file" could well be due to the user being used to run hudson does not have access.
The quick solution to this is change the "Log on" user for the Hudson service to be your normal account.
