I am trying to create a table using html and css for my webpage. But the problem is that I can't get it to work, there is an obvious grid between cells in my table that I can't get rid of. I have looked for hours on google for a solution without any improvements. Here is an example of what I get with my current code: . As you can see, between each header cell, there is an obvious line. Same goes with the rest of the body cells if I change color there. Here is some styling for the rest of the page if necessary:
<style media="screen">
html, body
{
height: 100%;
}
body
{
margin: 0;
background-color: #292929;
overflow: hidden;
}
nav
{
position: fixed;
top: 0%;
right: 0;
left: 0;
width: 319px;
display: table;
/* margin: 0 auto; */
/* transform: translateY(-50%); */
padding-top: 10px;
padding-left: 10px;
/* added */
table-layout: fixed;
}
nav a
{
width: 70px;
position: relative;
/* width: 33.333%; */
display: table-cell;
text-align: center;
color: #949494;
text-decoration: none;
font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Tahoma, sans-serif;
font-weight: bold;
padding: 10px 20px;

nav a:before, nav a:after

I hope somebody is able to help me. Thanks in advance!
EDIT:
The main style was copied from here, where it did work without any problems, but as soon as I copied it into my code it started to have some troubles, the same goes with other tables I have tried to create.
When I copy exactly what you have for css and html, I don't see the white lines. BUT... I think it may have something to do with the last style you have in the table stylesheet.
th {
background: white;
position: sticky;
top: 0; /* Don't forget this, required for the stickiness */
/* box-shadow: 0 2px 2px -1px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.4); */
}
What happens if you change the background color to a bright color like red or orange? Do the grid line colors change?
EDIT:
I looked at the link you provided. I was able to see the issue in Safari but only when I zoom. I believe it is rendering issue caused by position: absolute and perhaps the transform on <div class="schedule_holder">
Updating the styles for that element worked for me.
.schedule_holder {
overflow: auto;
height: 70%;
margin-top: 4%;
border-radius: 5px;
display: flex;
justify-content: center;
align-items: center;
}
It doesnt look like a real border, but perhaps a rendering/rounding issue (half pixel thing). Make sure you havent zoomed in/out in your browser, and resize your window to see if it persist.
You could try to set a red background color on the body or table, to see if that white line turns red. If so it would mean there is a space rendered in between, which you could get rid of by setting a background color on the tr instead of thead/th.

I have the following Jade / HTML:

And Less / CSS:
.service {

max-width: 100%;
.icon {
border: 1px solid #ccc;

font-size: 28px;
padding: 10px 15px;

height: 100%;
i {
position: relative;
top: 50%;
.transform(translateY(20%));
vertical-align: top;
}
}
}
}
It looks nice on all Browsers, the left icon is in centre and the right green button has a 100% height and fill the box... Unfortunately on iOS Safari it looks differently: the left icon is on top and the right button doesn't fill the entire box height as you can see in the image below.
Does anyone know how can I fix this? Thanks!
EDIT:
Transform Mixin:
.transform(#string){
-webkit-transform: #string;
-moz-transform: #string;

-o-transform: #string;
transform: #string;
}
How can i make this buttons responsive?
(with the phone) i want see the buttons with a full width, but i can't and i don't know why!
PS: You can change everything you want, but please help me!
PS2: The buttons have an animation, i know how to block this so use only this code.
If you need more information about this, just ask, i will answer you soon i can! Sorry for my bad english and thank you for the help!

There are a couple things going on:
First, I changed your CSS to have mobile/small screens first. This way you can have all your styles for the buttons and then just change the positioning for larger screens. Second, you can easily combine styles for your buttons so you don't have a bunch of repeating styles.
Hopefully this is what you're looking for:

I have a div that has a background image but has 50% opacity.
Now I have a div that is child and I want what every the content it has to have 100% opacity. You can see in the snipplet headings and textbox and button has less opacity.
Can anyone help how to fix this thing? I tried to apply opacity 100% to child but it didn't work.

An opacity rule will always affect child/descendant elements since they are part of the parent, and the rule says the parent should be 50% opacity.
To get round this, use a pseudo element and give that reduced opacity rather than the parent.

Fiddle.
So I've created part of a ribbon menu I plan on using myself. So here is what it looks like so far:
Before hover:
On hover:
Basically, I want it to show my social icon as well as being able to use my other banners when i add them in.
Here is the code that I am using so far:
<body>
<ul class="social">
<li class="ribbon" media="facebook"><i class="fa fa-facebook" aria-hidden="true"></i></li>
</ul>
<script src="https://use.fontawesome.com/c2f336433a.js"></script>
</body>
Here is the CSS:
#import 'reset';
#import 'mixins';
ul.social {
position: absolute;
z-index: 4;
margin: -225px auto;
list-style: none;
right: 0;
li.ribbon {
float: right;
cursor: pointer;
position: relative;
width: 75px;
height: 250px;
border: none;
color: white;
padding: 5px;
-webkit-appearance: none;
-moz-appearance: none;
appearance: none;
#include transition(all .2s ease-in-out);
#include filter(drop-shadow(0 1px 10px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5)));
span {
line-height: 20px;
font-size: 5em;
}
}
li.ribbon:hover {
margin-top: 70px;
color: white;
}
li.ribbon:before {
content: '';
position: absolute;
top: 100%; left: 0;
width: 0; height: 0;
border-top: 25px solid blue;
border-right: 50px solid transparent;
}
li.ribbon:after {
content: '';
position: absolute;
top: 100%; right: 0;
width: 0; height: 0;
border-top: 25px solid blue;
border-left: 50px solid transparent;
}
li.ribbon[media="facebook"] {
background: #3b5998;
color: #1e2e4f;
margin-right: 5px;
}
li.ribbon[media="facebook"]:before,
li.ribbon[media="facebook"]:after {
border-top-color: #3b5998;
}
}
Note that the reset is just an eric meyer reset and the mixins are just for transitions etc...
The reason why you weren't able to see the icon was because there was a negative margin of 225px on the ul. On hover, only the margin-top of the li was being set to 70px but the ul still has the negative margin, so the li is still around 155px above the viewport. This means that the a which is not positioned (that is, has static positioning) and is near the top of the li is still not visible.
You can correct this by avoiding the margin on the ul and just moving the li around. I've used the transform: translateY() to move the li around because that is better for performance than using margins (which need repainting).
I have also added some extra properties like text-align, line-height etc for a better look.
ul.social {
position: absolute;
z-index: 4;
margin: 0px auto; /* modified */
list-style: none;

I am trying to build a progress bar as seen often within checkouts.
The problem is, that the borders between the arrows are transparent and the whole thing should be responsive.
I got it this far:
http://codepen.io/MrBambule/pen/rVBeoz
But I can't figure out how to get the items of the bar to span the whole width of the parent container (red border in the pen) and stay responsive.
I think I could figure it out with JS but I'd rather have a CSS solution.
Help would be much appreciated.

you could use something like:
.wrap {
width: 100%;
height: 30px;
z-index:-2;white-space: nowrap;
overflow:hidden;
}
.wrap div:first-child{margin-left:-2%;}
.progress {
margin:0;
margin-left:0.5%;
height: 30px;
width: 25%;
position: relative;
display: inline-block;
text-align: center;
line-height: 30px;
transition: all 0.8s;
}
.progress:before,
.progress:after {
content: "";
position: absolute;
transition: all 0.8s;
z-index:-1;
}
.progress:before {
height: 50%;
width: 100%;
top: 0;
left: 0;
background: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.2);
-webkit-transform: skew(45deg);
-moz-transform: skew(45deg);

.progress:after {

-webkit-transform: skew(-45deg);
-moz-transform: skew(-45deg);

.progress:hover:before,
.progress:hover:after {

<div class="wrap">

which is responsive to the width of the screen.
It makes use of the transform:skew property for the middle bars, and a small border hack for the two far elements. This results in the output shown below:

NOTE
If you are creating these dynamically (and want them all along the same line), then you will need to alter the width stated in the first css rule (currently set to 23%).
