How can I bypass entering a user name/password in SSRS?? We have a TV that displays a report. I need the report to open & display without having to enter the user name/password.
I have attempted making changes in the rsreportserver.config based on this article, but could not get it to work...
Configure Windows Authentication on the Report Server

I have SSRS 2019 on one machine and data on another sql server 2019. On SSRS server website works fine and authentication as well.
When I go to the SSRS web site from my laptop I mostly see error.
and my identity is:
If I paste URL of existing working report, I prompted to fill user/password.
Then I can see report with data. But I'm still not properly logged.
ANONYMOUS LOGON
SSRS works like this most of the time. But sometimes after I enter credentials and refresh page, I'm logged as my user. But not always, sometimes there is still ANONYMOUS LOGON. It is the same on Chrome, Explorer and Edge.
SSRS configuration from config manager:
SSRS service account = Virtual Service Account SSRS database
conn to database authentication type = Current user - Integrated security Database
database credential authentication type = service credentials SQLServerReportingServices
My user has Browser, Content Manager, Publisher and Report builder role in Home/Manager Folder.
Reports have shared data source with Using windows name and password credentials. This windows account has read/write permissions on sql server with report data.
Connection string in form of:
Data Source=server01;Failover Partner=server02;Initial
Catalog=database;Integrated Security=True
My opinion is that this is authentication issue, but I cannot figure out where and how to fix it.
It is confusing that sometimes I'm authenticated and sometimes not.
Any ideas?
I installed SQL Server 2008 Standard on Windows Server 2012, and configure the SSRS accordingly.
On an end PC, I use servername/reports to access Report Manager, after I put in a normal user's credential, it shows a page without any folders or reportsenter image description here
But if I login as a domain admin, then I can see all the folders and reports.
Any ideas why please?

I need to configure SSRS 2014 on my private laptop.
After using "SQL SERVER 2014 REPORTING SERVICES CONFIGURATION MANAGER" I am trying to enter the URL. I am getting in "REPORT MANAGER URL" but the website is asking for username and password. I am using windows authentication on my SQL SERVER so I don't know why SSRS needs username and password.
Is my configuration wrong?
How can I fix this and enter ssrs on my laptop?
SSRS uses Windows Athentication to determine access to certain folders. Try executing Internet Explorer as administrator to access http://127.0.0.1:80/Reports and grant access to your user (Top Right-> Configuration-> Security)
What browser are you using? Are you using Chrome or Internet Explorer?
I have found that when you initially connect via Chrome to the SSRS reporting page it will ask you to authenticate once. With Internet Explorer windows authentication should be set by default:
https://www.specopssoft.com/configuring-chrome-and-firefox-for-windows-integrated-authentication/
As vercilli also pointed out, you will need to set system level and item level privileges to view/edit/publish reports and administer the server from the web front-end.
I have some SSRS reports set up based on Windows integrated security (RSWindowsNegotiate & RSWindowsNTLM).
Is there a way to force the SSRS to prompt login credentials for some of the reports (not all) for added security? Thanks.
Go to your Data Source Properties window as above, then Credentials and then select "Prompt for credntials" instead of Use Windows Authentication (integrated security)
I am using SQLServer 2008 Enterprise Edition running in Windows 7 Home Premium Edition, and I am having problems with the reporting service. The Reporting Service Configuration Manager does not show neither the Report Service Web Server Url nor the Report Manager URL. However, if I bring closer the mouse to the place where the aforementioned Urls should be a tooltip with the value of these addresses appears.
Using this invisible url I go to Report Manager and it is empty in spite of the fact that I have made an apparent successful deploy of some reports from my Visual Studio 2008.
In addition, when attempting to see the reports through the Report Service Web URL it gives me the following error :
"The permissions granted to user yamil PC yamil ' plow insufficient for performing this operation. ( rsAccessDenied ) "
At last, no one of the web sites related with Reporting Services appears in the Internet Information Services Configuration Manager. Is this normal?
This looks like permission or UAC error to me. By default, BUILTIN\Administrators or the local admin group on computer would have content manager role on RS. If you are already part of this group and you still see the error, You need to right click on your IE's icon and "Run as Administrator" before you try to browse the Report Server URL which throws the error.
For Report Manager URL, if its greyed out, URL reservation for Report Manager is not done. See if Apply button is enabled, If it is, Clicking on the Apply button under Report Manager tab should take care of it.
Make sure the user you are trying to login with is an administrator. Once that is done you should be able to go into the report manager url as specified in Reporting Services Configuration Manager.
