I am currently in the process of coding a script, using LUA. The script itself is designed to check if certain jobs are whitelisted (its a FiveM script). When switching jobs, it will save your current rank into the database, then switch over to the new job, so if you ever want to go back to the old one you will have your rank restored.
MySQL.Sync.execute('UPDATE users SET `#jobselect` = #currentrank WHERE identifier
= #identifier3', {
['#jobselect'] = currentjob2,
['#currentrank'] = xPlayer.job.grade,
['#identifier3'] = xPlayer.getIdentifier()
})
Through the console, I ran each of those variables, currentjob2, xPlayer.job.grade, etc. They all return what I expected them to. Then when I try to execute that MySQL query, I get the following error:
Unknown Column ''ems_rank'' in 'field list'
ems_rank is the result of the variable currentjob2 (just letting you know)
So, I can tell the issue is that the column's name is just ems_rank whereas the code is reading the quotation marks and assuming the column is called 'ems_rank' when it isnt. So if anybody could help me find a way to remove the quotations, that would be much appreciated.
Bare in mind I am coding all this in LUA.

I have the following code attempting to truncate a table. The Joomla documentation makes me believe this will work, but it does not. What am I missing?
$db = JFactory::getDbo();
truncate_query = $db->getQuery(true);
//$truncate_query = 'TRUNCATE ' . $db->quoteName('#__mytable');
$truncate_query->truncateTable($db->quoteName('#__mytable'));
$db->setQuery($truncate_query);
echo $truncate_query;
exit();
If I use the line that is commented out to manually generate the SQL, it does work. The reason I am still looking to use the truncateTable function is that I am trying to include the truncation in a transaction. When I use the manual statement, the table is still truncated even if another part of the transaction fails, which is annoying since the other statements rely on data that is truncated, so if the table is emptied when it shouldn't be there is no data left to run the transaction again. Very annoying!
Here's how you call/execute your truncation query:
JFactory::getDbo()->truncateTable('#__mytable');
And now some more details...
Here is the method's code block in the Joomla source code:
public function truncateTable($table)
{
$this->setQuery('TRUNCATE TABLE ' . $this->quoteName($table));
$this->execute();
}
As you can see the truncateTable() method expects a tablename as a string for its sole parameter; you are offering a backtick-wrapped string -- but the method already offers the backtick-wrapping service. (Even if you strip your backticks off, your approach will not be successful.)
The setQuery() and execute() calls are already inside the method, so you don't need to create a new query object nor execute anything manually.
There is no return in the method, so the default null is returned -- ergo, your $truncate_query becomes null. When you try to execute(null), you get nothing -- not even an error message.
If you want to know how many rows were removed, you will need to run a SELECT query before hand to count the rows.
If you want to be sure that there are no remaining rows of data, you'll need to call a SELECT and check for zero rows of data.
Here is my answer (with different wording) on your JSX question.
I'm trying to build a Data Integration job uses pass through to extract data from a view in a MySQL database.
Wev'e been using pass through a lot in the project, mostly extracting data from Redshift,
however with MySQL I was not able to do make it work properly.
It keeps complaining a table is missing even though when pass through is off, view is found and data is extracted...
tried every trick I know, starting from enabling case-sensitive DBMS object names, to manually remove single/double quotes from the statement just in case MySQL confuses confuses it with something else...
No luck.
ODBC driver is [MySQL][ODBC 5.3(a) Driver][mysqld-5.5.53].
Ran on a Windows environment.
Any idea how to solve this?
Thank you in advance.
EDIT
So, first of all, one correction (even though not that important - I extract from a view, not a table).
This is the code generated by SAS Create Table transformation, pass through enabled. I only put an asterisk instead of the full list of columns:
proc sql;
connect to ODBC
(
READBUFF=10000 DATASRC="cmp.web_api" AUTHDOMAIN="MYSQL_CMP_Auth"
);
create table work."W7ZZZKOC"n as
select
*
from connection to ODBC
(

And again, when I extract data without pass through - works successfully,
I found out the problem was a column name exceeds 32 positions.
As SAS supports up column names up to 32,
the query fails to find PRIMARY_ACCOUNT_OF_THIS_CUSTOMER as the original column name is PRIMARY_ACCOUNT_OF_THIS_CUSTOMER__C.
EDIT
One more thing I found out is, MySQL doesn't like specifying schema name nor aliases.
Therefore,
From clause to only specify table name i.e : 'from v_bi_account' rather than 'web_api.v_bi_account'
and do not use aliases i.e use 'from v_bi_account' rather than 'from v_bi_account as v_bi_account'
Thank you guys so much for your help.
I am trying to save an Access query with the following statement.
INSERT INTO FOO( DES_MOTIVO, DES_TIPO, DES_SUBTIPO,
AGRUPACIÓN, SEMANA, CuentaDeCOD_ACCION_CLIENTE )
IN 'C:\Users\BAR\Desktop\03. Hola\DB STATIC INTERACCIONES MES.accdb'
I am getting an error when saving the query, saying the path is incorrect. Testing the path, i found out that the culprit is the period+whitespace in "03. Hola". Deleting the whitespace fixed the issue and the query saves properly.
Is there a way to escape the period so that access accepts the save path with period + whitespace?
Thank you in advance,
Nega.
Apparently this is not possible with SQL or VBA code.
Fun fact: You can do it in the query designer by setting the Destination database setting of the query properties. Set your path, the query can be saved and executed (and it works!).
But switch to SQL view and try to save: you get the "invalid bracketing" error. Same when trying to set the SQL from VBA.
And the DestinationDB property that the help file mentions isn't available via code. It seems to be derived from the IN clause.
So your database will have to moved to a better path. Or, if it's single user, copy to temp path, run the INSERT, copy back.
See also: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/132184
Try adding quotes around the path:
"INSERT INTO FOO( DES_MOTIVO, DES_TIPO, DES_SUBTIPO, AGRUPACIÓN, SEMANA, CuentaDeCOD_ACCION_CLIENTE ) IN '""C:\Users\BAR\Desktop\03. Hola\DB STATIC INTERACCIONES MES.accdb""'"
But why do you maintain such weird folder names as "03. Hola"?
Indeed on the Desktop, you should be able to create a simpler folder name.
I'm trying to create a text file that contains the value of a custom field I added on redmine. I tried to get it from an SQL query in the create method of the project_controller.rb (at line 80 on redmine 1.2.0) as follows :
sql = Mysql.new('localhost','root','pass','bitnami_redmine')
rq = sql.query("SELECT value
FROM custom_values
INNER JOIN projects
ON custom_values.customized_id=projects.id
WHERE custom_values.custom_field_id=7
AND projects.name='#{#project.name}'")
rq.each_hash { |h|
File.open('pleasework.txt', 'w') { |myfile|
myfile.write(h['value'])
}
}
sql.close
This works fine if I test it in a separate file (with an existing project name instead of #project.name) so it may be a syntax issue but I can't find what it is. I'd also be glad to hear any other solution to get that value.
Thanks !
(there's a very similar post here but none of the solutions actually worked)
First, you could use Project.connection.query instead of your own Mysql instance. Second, I would try to log the SQL RAILS_DEFAULT_LOGGER.info "SELECT ..." and check if it's ok... And the third, I would use identifier instead of name.
I ended up simply using params["project"]["custom_field_values"]["x"] where x is the custom field's id. I still don't know why the sql query didn't work but well, this is much simpler and faster.
I have a 'user' table with a field name 'process_salary?' which has a boolean datatype
#user = User.create(params[:user])
if #user.process_salary?
//some code here
else
//some code here
end
When I create a new object of user and check for process_salary it gives me following error
NoMethodError: undefined method `process_salary?' for #<User:0xb6ac2f68>
Why does this error occur? Can I avoid it without changing my column name?
When I check it with the debugger it crashes the first time, but after that it runs properly
The question-mark has a special meaning in ActiveRecord. It can be used to check whether a field is true. You are using it as part of your field name which wasn't such a good idea. You could try if #user.process_salary?? exists but I think ultimately it is easiest to change your database column to be called 'process_salary'.
Side note: The 'rails console' is really helpful for playing around with models.
As cellcortex posted, question marks at the end of column names are tricky in Rails. If you need to have it there for legacy reasons, you might be able access the attribute as follows:
#user['process_salary?']
or the more verbose:
#user.read_attribute['process_salary?']
You can of course test for nil using .nil?.
