Code combination in microsoft access (yyxxxx format) - ms-access

I'm struggeling with a part of code that I want to implement in Microsoft Access.
The required code is used for project asignments.
The code format contains the last 2 numbers of the year + 4 digits which add up until a new year, then the last 2 numbers of the year add up with 1 and the 4 digits start at 1 again.
For example:
2019:
190001 = first task;
190002 = second task;
etc...
2020:
200001 = first task;
200002 = second task;
etc...
Could anybody help me out how to code this in Microsoft Access, preferably by VBA?
This way I can asign the code to a "submit" button to avoid similar numbers.
Thanks!

Formatting your code given an integer could be achieved in several ways, here is one possible method:
Function ProjectCode(ByVal n As Long) As Long
ProjectCode = CLng(Format(Date, "yy") & Format(n, "0000"))
End Function
?ProjectCode(1)
200001
?ProjectCode(2)
200002
?ProjectCode(100)
200100

You probably need to assign the next task id to a project.
So, look up the latest id in use and add 1 to obtain the next task id:
NextTaskId = (Year(Date()) \ 100) * 10000 + Nz(DMax("TaskId", "ProjectTable", "TaskId \ 10000 = Year(Date()) \ 100"), 0) Mod 10000 + 1
Nz ensures that a task id also can be assigned the very first task of a year.

How do I query for the last 30 days of data in Power Query using JSON?

I would like to request the last 30 days of CrewHu Import data from today's date in this query. At the moment it is just set to get everything greater than the 25th September 2022 but I want to change this to be a dynamic value. Has anyone else had this problem / knows of a workaround?
let
Source = Json.Document(Web.Contents("https://api.crewhu.com/api" & "/v1/survey?query={""_updated_at"":{""$gte"":""2022-09-25T00:00:00.000Z""}}", [Headers=[X_CREWHU_APITOKEN="xxxxxxxxxxx"]])),
I've tried:
OneMonthAgo = Text.Replace(Text.Start (Text.From(Date.AddDays(DateTime.LocalNow(),-30)),10),"/","-") & "T00:00:00.000Z",
And calling this as a variable but because the string does not come with quotation marks it gives a syntax error when the variable is called in the 'Source = ' line.
Well, first you want
= Date.ToText(Date.From(Date.AddDays(DateTime.LocalNow(),-30)), [Format="yyyy-MM-dd"])& "T00:00:00.000Z"
since that returns 2022-09-28T00:00:00.000Z while yours returns 9-28-2022 T00:00:00.000Z which does not seem to be the original format
then try out this, which I cant test
let variable = Date.ToText(Date.From(Date.AddDays(DateTime.LocalNow(),-30)), [Format="yyyy-MM-dd"])& "T00:00:00.000Z",
Source = Json.Document(Web.Contents("https://api.crewhu.com/api" & "/v1/survey?query={""_updated_at"":{""$gte"":"""&variable&"""}}", [Headers=[X_CREWHU_APITOKEN="xxxxxxxxxxx"]]))

IIf query decimal removal

Trying to attempt the following in MS Access.
Convert data in one field to an 18 digit number starting with 01 in another field.
There are also some conditions that have to be met:
the first dash should become double zeros
the second dash should be removed
the third and fourth dash should be a single zero
the decimal must also be replaced with a zero
My query works fine until the decimal is the 15th character in the data.
Here is the query:
SELECT MasterVacant.ParcelIdNumber,
"01" + Mid([ParcelIdNumber],1,2) + "00" + Mid([ParcelIdNumber],4,2) + Mid([ParcelIdNumber],7,1)
+ IIf(Mid([ParcelIDNumber],11,1) = "", "0"+Mid([ParcelIDNumber],9,2), Mid([ParcelIDNumber],9,3))
+ IIf(Mid([ParcelIDNumber],14,1) = ".", "0"+Mid([ParcelIDNumber],12,2), Mid([ParcelIDNumber],12,3))
+ Mid([ParcelIDNumber],15,3) AS ParcelNumber
FROM MasterVacant;
Here is a start and finish example...
'12-06-1-00-50.000-RR' should become '011200061000050000'
'12-06-3-07-09.000-RR' should become '011200063007009000'
'13-35-1-01-129.000-RR' should become '011300035100112900'
However, instead of getting `0113000351001129000' I get '013000351001129.00'.
The issue is how do I remove the decimal when the decimal is the 15th character like in the third set of example?
I receive the data as a single column. Some of it is below....
1. 13-35-1-07-29.000-RR
2. 13-35-1-01-112.000-RR (Removing the decimal when the data is like this is the issue)
3. 13-35-4-01-01.000-RR
4. 13-35-4-02-04.000-RR
5. 13-35-1-13-17.000-RR
The output for the above data should be
1. 011300351007029000
2. 011300351001112000
3. 011300354001001000
4. 011300354002004000
5. 011300351013017000
Use a custom function:
Public Function Make18(ByVal Value As String) As String
Const Head As String = "01"
Const Tail As String = "000"
Const Lead As String = "00"
Dim Parts As Variant
Dim Part As Integer
Dim Result As String
Parts = Split(Split(Value, ".")(0), "-")
For Part = LBound(Parts) To UBound(Parts)
Select Case Part
Case 0
Parts(Part) = Head & Parts(Part)
Case 1
Parts(Part) = Lead & Parts(Part)
Case 3, 4
Parts(Part) = Right(Lead & Parts(Part), 3)
End Select
Next
Result = Join(Parts, "") & Tail
Make18 = Result
End Function
and your query becomes:
SELECT
MasterVacant.ParcelIdNumber,
Make18([ParcelIdNumber]) AS ParcelNumber
FROM
MasterVacant;
I am assuming you meant the opposite where:
12-06-1-00-50.000-RR should become 011200061000050000
12-06-3-07-09.000-RR should become 011200063007009000
13-35-1-01-129.000-RR should become 0113000351001129.00
I would recommend the REPLACE() in MSACCESS to strip the dashes out. Once you have the dashes out you can MID()
Unfortunately your attempted code does something different with the 3rd row because 3 zeros are being put in when there should be only two in my opinion.
Try in a text box:
=Replace("13-35-1-01-129.000-RR","-","")
will return 1335101129.000RR
and see if that assists you in making your code.
Maybe go one step further and put it in a function.

Highcharts with external CSV $.get - No xAxis date

I'm trying to create a spline chart using this CSV:
slave_id,date,time,rtc_temp,temp1,temp2,temp3
1,2017/12/26,16:42:59,21,11.50,13.13,5.88
2,2017/12/26,16:43:29,21,14.13,20.63,99.99
1,2017/12/26,16:44:00,21,11.50,13.13,5.88
2,2017/12/26,16:44:30,21,14.13,20.63,99.99
1,2017/12/26,16:45:01,21,11.50,13.13,5.88
2,2017/12/26,16:45:31,21,14.13,20.63,99.99
1,2017/12/26,16:46:02,21,11.50,13.13,5.88
2,2017/12/26,16:46:32,21,14.13,20.63,99.99
As you can see here [IMAGE], the graph is showing the date and time, but the x Axis is not accepting the date / time.
Ive tried using date.UTC, but that did not work either. Can someone point me in the right direction?

I see that date variable in your code is a string:
// all data lines start with a double quote
line = line.split(',');
date = line[1] + " " + line[2];
(...)
RTC.push([
date,
parseInt(line[3], 10)
]);
If you choose to construct the point's options as an array of two values and the first value is a string then it's treated as its name property (not x).
Explanation: https://www.highcharts.com/docs/chart-concepts/series
In that case Highcharts assigns subsequent integers as x values for all points (that's why there're values like 00:00:00.000 (1 Jan 1970), 00:00:00.001 etc.).
You need to parse your date to timestamp. You can use Date.UTC() (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/JavaScript/Reference/Global_Objects/Date/UTC) or some other function for this.
I've managed to get it working with Date.UTC using the following code:
var yyyymmdd = line[2].split("-"); //Split the date: 2017 12 16
var hhmmss = line[3].split(":"); //Split the time: 16 11 14
var date = Date.UTC(yyyymmdd[0], yyyymmdd[1] - 1, yyyymmdd[2], hhmmss[0], hhmmss[1], hhmmss[2]); //Stitch 'em together using Date.UTC

get specific value from parameter

I have a multi-valued parameter TimeMonthOfYear(from cube) that contains January Februrary...December.
I want to set a default value showing current month using MonthName(Month(Today)) (I tried it and it didn't work) when running report...
If I do this [Time].[Month Of Year].&[October] it works! October is selected in dropdown after previous dropdown (Year) was selected.
I don't want to do it the "hard coded" way...I have tried
[Time].[Month Of Year].&[MonthName(Month(Today))] and
="[Time].[Month Of Year].&["&MonthName(Month(Today))&"]" without luck
Any help is very much appreciated!
Yup :) Well it's now working with may be a not so nice solution but will work for now with the help of vb code. in standard value I have ="[Time].[Month Of Year].&[" + Code.SetMonth() + "]" and custom code Function SetMonth() As String Dim x as STRING x =CStr(MonthName(Month(Today))) 'CStr not needed I think If x = "januari" Then x = "January" ElseIf x = "februari" Then x = "February" ... End If Return(x) End Function That is giving me the current month after selecting value in year drop-down :)

Inherited database has leap year code that compiler doesn't like

In my job, I have inherited an Access 97 database. This database is very unstable and I need to remedy that in one way or another. I have been trying to go through and debug the current version so that I can migrate it to 2007. I have run across some code that the compiler doesn't like and not sure how to fix it...here is the code:
Function DaysInMonth(ByVal D As Date) As Long
' Requires a date argument because February can change
' if it's a leap year.
Select Case Month(D)
Case 2
If LeapYear(Year(D)) Then
DaysInMonth = 29
Else
DaysInMonth = 28
End If
Case 4, 6, 9, 11
DaysInMonth = 30
Case 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 10, 12
DaysInMonth = 31
End Select
End Function
I get a compile error: Sub or Function not defined and it highlights the first "LeapYear".
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
LeapYear is another function or procedure that appears not be present in your modules or has been made Private. LeapYear isn't a VBA function. There must have been a function that takes a year Year(D) and returns TRUE or FALSE if it's a leapyear. either insert one or set the existing one to Public
Edit:You could use IsLeapYear but change to 'LeapYear' and call using IsLeapYear(D)
The code in question is idiotic -- it was clearly written by somebody who didn't have a clue about VBA dates, which already know everything that is needed without needed to encode this crap into a CASE SELECT.
This expression will get you the number of days in a month:
Day(DateAdd("m", 1, DateValue(Month(Date()) & "/1/" & Year(Date()))) - 1)
What this does is get the first of the current month, adds a month to it (for the first of the next month), and then subtracts 1 from it. Since the integer part of the VBA date type is the day part, that will get you the last day of the current month. Then you take the result and pull the day out with the Day() function.
Coding that up as a function:
Function DaysInMonth(ByVal dteDate As Date) As Integer
Dim dteFirstOfMonth As Date
Dim dteLastOfMonth As Date
dteFirstOfMonth = DateValue(Month(dteDate) & "/1/" & Year(dteDate))
dteLastOfMonth = DateAdd("m", 1, dteFirstOfMonth) - 1
DaysInMonth = Day(dteLastOfMonth)
End Function
You could also code this up using the fact that the DateSerial() function treats the zeroth day as the last of the previous month:
Function DaysInMonth(ByVal dteDate As Date) As Integer
Dim dteOneMonthFromDate As Date
Dim dteLastOfThisMonth As Date
dteOneMonthFromDate = DateAdd("m", 1, dteDate)
dteLastOfThisMonth = DateSerial(Year(dteOneMonthFromDate), Month(dteOneMonthFromDate), 0)
DaysInMonth = Day(dteLastOfThisMonth)
End Function
But that doesn't make it any shorter...
None of this requires figuring out leap year rules -- those are built into the VBA date type.
And, of course, the function should not return a Long, but an Integer, since the maximum value it can ever return is 31.
LeapYear may not be your only issue.
In Access '97, go to the VBA editor and click "Tools/References":
Look in the references of your '97 project and see what DLLs are listed.
A screen will appear that shows you the ActiveX DLLs that can be used for the project. The ones that are checked are the ones currently used:
Odds are there is a DLL there that needs to be referenced in your new 2007 database.
