I made a hamburger toggle that is supposed to transform. On my laptop it shows perfectly but on my mobile nothing is done to it. It is just a checkbox on the left side. None of the styles were applied to it. I have media queries but none apply to this. It is bootstrap but I made a custom toggler.
#custom-toggler {
border: none;
float: right;
margin: 25px 15px 0 0
}
#custom-toggler input{
display: block;
width: 40px;
height: 32px;
position: relative;
top: -7px;
left: 5px;
float: right;
cursor: pointer;
opacity: 0; /* hide this */
z-index: 2; /* and place it over the hamburger */
-webkit-touch-callout: none;
}
#custom-toggler input:checked ~ span
{
opacity: 1;
transform: rotate(45deg) translate(-2px, -1px);
background: white;
}
#custom-toggler span:first-child
{
transform-origin: 0% 0%;
}
#custom-toggler span:last-child
{
transform-origin: 0% 100%;
}
#custom-toggler input:checked ~ span:last-child
{
transform: rotate(-45deg) translate(0, -1px);
}
#custom-toggler input:checked ~ span:nth-child(2n-1)
{
opacity: 0;
transform: rotate(0deg) scale(0.2, 0.2);
}
#custom-toggler span {
display: block;
width: 33px;
height: 4px;
margin-bottom: 5px;
position: relative;
background: #cdcdcd;
border-radius: 3px;
z-index: 1;
transform-origin: 4px 0px;
transition: transform 0.5s cubic-bezier(0.77,0.2,0.05,1.0),
background 0.5s cubic-bezier(0.77,0.2,0.05,1.0),
opacity 0.55s
}
<nav class="small-nav navbar-light fixed-top ">
<a class="navbar-brand " href="index.html"><img id='logo'
src="../image/TreysCode-logo1.png"></a>
<div id='custom-toggler'>
<input type="checkbox" data-toggle="collapse" data-
target="#navbarSupportedContent" aria-
controls="navbarSupportedContent" aria-expanded="false" aria-
label="Toggle navigation"/>
<span ></span>
<span ></span>
<span ></span>
</div>
Missing Vendor prefixes
Safari is one of those Browsers which still requires the -webkit-* prefix on most newer Styles.
Just turn every of the following
transform: ...;
transform-origin: ...;
transition: ...,
transform ...;
into
-webkit-transform: ...;
transform: ...;
-webkit-transform-origin: ...;
transform-origin: ...;
-webkit-transition: ...,
-webkit-transform ...,
transform ...;
transition: ...,
-webkit-transform ...,
transform ...;
If a browser sees the -webkit-* it will use it if it can, if not they get simply ignored and the next (non-prefixed) Style gets used.

I have a navigation bar and a background (class="modal") which are set to
display: none;
How do I make it
display: block;
when the input checkbox menu-check is checked using only CSS.
[I have only shown the class modal since both navigation and modal classes act similarly]
.modal {
display: none;
position: absolute;
height: 100%;
top: 0;
left: 0;
right: 0;
background: #00827f;

.menu-btn {

display: flex;
flex-direction: column;
gap: 5px;
bottom: 20px;
right: 20px;
padding: 15px;
border-radius: 20px;
z-index: 10;
background-color: #08ccc9;

You need to change your HTML so that the checkbox is at the same level in the DOM as the modal. You can only select subsequent or child elements, not previous or ancestral elements.

Add this to your menu class.
It will solve your problem.
.menu {
position: fixed;
right: 0;
}
try
#media and screen and (max-width:766px){ .menu{ display:none; } }
I need to zoom image in on hover and focus. On hover from .9 to 1 and on focus from 1 to 1.2.
The problem is that while scaling, the picture is blurry. No matter what size I start with, .9 or 1.
I used two solutions:
transform: scale3d(.9, .9, .9);
transform: translateZ(0) scale (.9, .9);
But it didn't work (solution in snippet).
What am I doing wrong? Maybe there are other solutions?
.button {
border: none;
background-color: transparent;
background-size: 100%;
background-position: center;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-image: url('https://svgshare.com/i/FWE.svg');
width: 28px;
height: 36px;
transition: transform .3s ease, background .3s ease, opacity .2s ease;
box-shadow: none;
will-change: transform;
transform: scale3d(.9,.9,.9);
transform: translateZ(0) scale(.9, .9);
}
.button:hover {
cursor: pointer;
transform: scale3d(1,1,1);
transform: translateZ(0) scale(1, 1);
}
.button:focus {
outline: none;
transform: scale3d(1.2,1.2,1.2);
transform: translateZ(0) scale(1.2, 1.2);
}
<button class="button">
</button>
<button class="button">
</button>
You could put the image into a pseudo element and transition the size of that element - that way you will always keep a sharp svg (seems a lot sharper than any of the other ways we discussed in the comments):
.button {
cursor: pointer;
outline: none;
border: none;
width: 36px;
height: 36px;
background-color: transparent;
box-shadow: none;
position: relative;
}
.button:after {
content: '';
display: block;
background: url('https://svgshare.com/i/FWE.svg') center center no-repeat;
background-size: contain;
width: 26px;
height: 26px;
position: absolute;
top: 50%;
left: 50%;
transform: translate(-50%,-50%);
transition: all .15s linear;
}
.button:hover:after {
width: 30px;
height: 30px;
}
.button:focus:after {
width: 34px;
height: 34px;
}
<button class="button">
</button>
<button class="button">
</button>
I have created a simple fold out menu. When I click on menu icon, the menu opens.
Now when I click on any option, it should get closed which is not happening. Below is my code in Codepen.
I would prefer to solve this using CSS only. I do not wish to use JS.

You can increase the size of the hidden <input type="checkbox"/> to make it cover all menu elements.
Though this ruins the hover-effect.
Otherwise you must use javascript.

I have a tooltip to show my search when hovering over an icon. That works fine in itself.
My problem is, that this icon is inside an inline-block navigation and cause it acts as the parent of my tooltip it has to have the large width of it which messes up my layout.So if I don't extend the width of my parent with the Icon the Tooltip messes up due to the small width of ~30px of it's parent.
If I extend the width from my parent to 300px (The size of my tooltip), it messes up my layout.
I need a way of relieving the tooltip itself from the inside of the element with the Icon.
HTML Structure:
<div id="search">
<div class="wrapper">
<div class="popper inline">
<i class="fa fa-tags" />
