I am trying to use Apache drill GUI on windows 10, I have followed all the instructions on their link https://drill.apache.org/docs/using-jdbc-with-squirrel-on-windows/ , adding the driver shows the message Driver class org.apache.drill.jdbc.Driver successfully registered for driver definition: test but when creating an alias and testing the connection, it says
Drill JDBC Driver alias: JDBC Driver class not found
class java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.eclipse.jetty.server.Handler
I have also tried adding the E:\apache-drill-1.16.0\jars\3rdparty and E:\apache-drill-1.16.0\jars\classb folder paths when adding the driver. But in vain, please help me in this regard.
Please use connection string to connect to Drill instance instead of using a connection string which tries to start Drill in embedded mode: jdbc:drill:zk=local. For example, you may start Drill in embedded mode using drill-embedded script or using sqlline, as was described here: https://drill.apache.org/docs/starting-drill-on-windows/ and connect to it using jdbc:drill:drillbit=localhost connection string.
Regarding the correct error message, squirrelsql handles exceptions in their own way, but it is possible to make changes in Drill to enforce squirrelsql to specify the correct exception. I have created Jira for this: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DRILL-7461

I need help. Could you please answer these question? I would like to connect eclipse to my database and I have tried these in eclipse: Window>Show View>Other>Data Source Explorer. After that we get Database Connections under the eclipse and then right click on the database connection and click on New... then select MySql under Connection Profile Types: and I click on New Driver Definition. Under New Driver Definition dialog, there exists MySql JDBC Driver with specific System Version. I choose one, but the OK button is disabled. Also at the top it says: "Unable to locate JAR/zip in file system as specified by the driver definition: mysql-connector-java-xxx-bin.jar".
How can I specify a Driver Template and Definition Name under New Driver Definition dialog of Data Source Explorer (in Data Tools Platform)
I dont know your Eclipse version or your MySql server version but for Kepler and mysql 5.5 server, here what I did. First I downloaded mysql connector java jar file(mysql-connector-java-5.1.36-bin.jar) from http://dev.mysql.com/downloads. Then On the New Driver Definition dialog page, I choose MySQL JDBC Driver|MySQL|5.1 under Name/Type tag. Go to JAR List tab Clear all and Add JAR/Zip... and choosed my already downloaded jar file. Finally at the Properties tab I filled them like this:
Connection URL: jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306
Database Name: MyDatabaseNameHere
Driver Class: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver
Password: MyPasswordHere
User ID: root
In the end, OK butten changed to enabled and that is all.
I also faced same issue. Just download the specific mysql JAR file needed. Now you need to add it to the JAR files tab. But before doing it click on clear all. That is the important step.
I'm trying to connect to a local MySQL database, with the anylogic object "database".
I'm using the type: "Other Database", and the connection URL: "Server=localhost;Database=anylogicdata;"
but I constantly get a RuntimeException saying: "not suitable driver found"
The help file says that you have to install the driver, but i don't know which or if it is my connection URL that is the problem.
Does anyone have some pointers to help me along the way?
You need a JDBC driver to be able to connect to a MySQL server from Java (that AnyLogic is based on) and you can find one here. After you have installed the driver you should find it in the list of available JDBC drivers in AnyLogic. The name should be com.mysql.jdbc.Driver if you chose the suggested one.
First you have to download and add the mysql-connector-java-*.jar file to the anylogic-project.
Then you have to type com.mysql.jdbc.Driver into the JDBC driver dropdown box. finally the connection string should look something like
jdbc:mysql:[host/db]?:[port]
another thing I found that might be helpfull to others, is that you can get the java connection from the anylogic db object: database.getConnection() this is very usefull if you want to create your own query. eg create a bulk insert instead of the single insert that Anylogic provides.
I am trying to connect to a SQL server (2008) database instance in ColdFusion 9 but there is no where to put an instance name in the CF administrator. I can get in with .net using a connection string like so:
Server=myServerName\myInstanceName;Database=myDataBase;User Id=myUsername;
Password=myPassword;
There is a place to enter a connection string in ColdFusion but I don't seem to be able to connect to the right instance (it seems to connect to the default instance). Is there a way to connect ColdFusion to a SQL Server database instance in the administrator?
If you are NOT using ColdFusion's sandbox security then you can specify the instance name in the server field of the datasource definition in the ColdFusion administrator. As you mentioned, you would just specify myServerName\myInstanceName. But...
If you are using ColdFusion's sandbox security then that will not work. I had this same issue when I upgraded to ColdFusion 9 and never did find a resolution. I entered a bug at Adobe for it: ColdFusion 9.0.1 Bug 84928 It has since been closed as "Deferred" with the reason "Not Enough Time".
I found that the connection issue arose when using ColdFusion's sandbox security. Disable it and the datasource will work with the instance name specified per above. Enable it and that same connection will fail.
In order to get around the bug you need to specify the database server only (without the instance name) in the server name field and specify the assigned port number for the named instance in the port number field. See the bug for full details.
Simply enter the Server with a \ and the name of the instance
I am running MySQL db using the latest wamp server. Using Oracle JDeveloper 11g. I have placed the MySQL connector jar in .../jdeveloper/jdev/lib folder and added the jar as a library in my adf application .
. I am able to create a connection to the db, view the tables in DB Navigator of JDev, also create Entity and View Objects. However when I try to run the Application Module, I get an error popup saying could not create connection, driver not found. I have the ApplicationModule data source configuration set to JDBC Datasource.
Help!!!
. Thank you

I am getting this error on run of Application Module, so I dont think the Integrated Weblogic Server is an issue here.
I have made sure that in libraries the mysql-connector jar is marked as "Deploy by default".
The jdbc jar file should also be placed where the embedded WebLogic can find it. So locate your defaultDomain directory under the JDeveloper's system directory /users/youruser/roaming/app data/JDeveloper
And locate the lib directory there.
Or make sure that the library you created in JDeveloper for the JDBC jar is marked as "Deploy by default".
put the mysql-connector**.jar in ~/.jdeveloper/xxxxxxx/DefaultDomain/lib
Configure JDeveloper to work with MySQL Connector/J
1-Download MySQL Connector/J 3.0.11 and copy the JDBC driver JAR file to a known location, such as /jdev/lib
From the Tools menu, select Default Project Properties.
In the tree view, select Libraries.
In the right pane, select New. The Create Library dialog will be displayed.
Name the library MySQL JDBC.
Set the location to Users Libraries.
Click Edit for the Class Path. The Edit Class Path dialog is displayed.
Click Add Entry. The Select Path Entry dialog is displayed.
Navigate to the JAR file for the MySQL Connect/J JDBC driver (it should be called something like mysql-connector-java--bin.jar).
Click on the jar file and click Select.
Click OK.
The library will be defined, and it will be in the Selected Libraries list.
You probably don't want that library to be defined in all your projects, so shuttle it over to the Available Libraries list.

I am trying to make the connection to a remote mysql database in CloverETL Designer (Community Version)
Documentation with examples on this subject seem fragmented so I have tried to piece the bits together but I'm not use if they are correct. I would be grateful for any suggestions or further clarification on this subject.
Here is what I have so far:
The SSL Certificate
As an alternative VPN connection the server guys passed me the raw CA certificate, which I saved as a .crt file in the conn folder of the CloverETL workspace.
CloverETL Connections
I created a new DB connection and tested it was working without SSL
In the graph window I created a simple graph
Switching to Source View I added the parameter attribute to the connection code like this:
<Connection database="MYSQL" dbURL="jdbc:mysql://hostname/database_name" id="JDBC0" jdbcSpecific="MYSQL" name="CPM" parameters="ssl=${WORKSPACE}/conn/mysql_cpm_cert.crt" password="password" type="JDBC" user="username"/>
Then I tested the connection to the database by creating new metadata from a DB table
The problem is that I don't know if the connect is now secure or not.
Here's the list of resources that I used to piece together the information:
components:bulkloaders:mysql_data_writer [CloverETL wiki]
MySQL :: MySQL 5.0 Reference Manual :: 6.3.6.3 SSL Command Options
Thanks
CPM
Your setup almost certainly does not use ssl. Both links you posted are not usable - first describes bulk loader and second connection via command line client. But what you need is to configure JDBC. So I would use http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/connector-j-reference-configuration-properties.html section "Security."
I would set:
useSSL=true
requireSSL=true
You will do that by adding items in table (Custom JDBC properties) on second tab (Advanced) of Connection Wizard. In source it should appear like "jdbc.useSSL=true jdbc.requireSSL=true" not "parameters=".
Then connection should fail, because in your default java key store is missing your certificate. It can be imported via http://docs.oracle.com/javase/1.4.2/docs/tooldocs/windows/keytool.html section "Importing Certificates"
I hope this helps.
