I want to merge several lists into one JSON array.
These are my two lists:
address = ['address1','address2']
temp = ['temp1','temp2']
I combine both lists by the following call and create a JSON .
new_list = list(map(list, zip(address, temp)))
jsonify({
'data': new_list
})
This is my result for the call:
{
"data": [
[
"address1",
"temp1"
],
[
"address2",
"temp2"
]
]
}
However, I would like to receive the following issue. How do I do that and how can I insert the identifier address and hello.
{
"data": [
{
"address": "address1",
"temp": "temp1"
},
{
"address": "address2",
"temp": "temp2"
}
]
}
You can use a list-comprehension:
import json
address = ['address1','address2']
temp = ['temp1','temp2']
d = {'data': [{'address': a, 'temp': t} for a, t in zip(address, temp)]}
print( json.dumps(d, indent=4) )
Prints:
{
"data": [
{
"address": "address1",
"temp": "temp1"
},
{
"address": "address2",
"temp": "temp2"
}
]
}
You can just change your existing code like this. That lambda function will do the trick of converting it into a dict.
address = ['address1','address2']
temp = ['temp1','temp2']
new_list = list(map(lambda x : {'address': x[0], 'temp': x[1]}, zip(address, temp)))
jsonify({
'data': new_list
})

I am very new to the Groovy scripts and would like to build a JSON output from the below JSON input. Kindly help!
My JSON input looks like this:
{
"id":"1222",
"storageNode": {
"uuid": "22255566336",
"properties": {
"BuinessUnit": [
"Light",
"Fan",
"Watch"
],
"Contact": [
"abc#gmail.com",
"fhh#gmail.com"
],
"Location": [
"Banglore",
"Surat",
"Pune"
]
}
}
}
Expected Output:
[
{
"BuinessUnit": "Light",
"Contact": "abc#gmail.com",
"Location": "Banglore"
},
{
"BuinessUnit": "Fan",
"Contact": "fhh#gmail.com",
"Location": "Surat"
},
{
"BuinessUnit": "Watch",
"Contact": "",
"Location": "Pune"
}
]
Please note that in case any array is not matching the value count that will always be the last one and in that case, a blank value ("") has to be populated. The "BusinessUnit" object can be referred for array size validation.
My code looks like this:
import com.sap.gateway.ip.core.customdev.util.Message;
import java.util.HashMap;
import groovy.json.*;
def Message processData(Message message) {
//Body
def body = message.getBody(String.class);
def jsonSlurper = new JsonSlurper()
def list = jsonSlurper.parseText(body)
String temp
def BU = list.storageNode.properties.get("BusinessUnit")
def builder = new JsonBuilder(
BU.collect {
[
BusinessUnit: it
]
}
)
message.setBody(builder.toPrettyString())
return message
}
It is only returning this:
[
{
"BusinessUnit": "Light"
},
{
"BusinessUnit": "Fan"
},
{
"BusinessUnit": "Watch"
}
]
Now how will I add other parts to it? Please help!
I have come up with the following solution that converts source JSON string to the target JSON string:
import groovy.json.JsonBuilder
import groovy.json.JsonSlurper
def json = '''
{
"id":"1222",
"storageNode": {
"uuid": "22255566336",
"properties": {
"BusinessUnit": [
"Light",
"Fan",
"Watch"
],
"Contact": [
"abc#gmail.com",
"fhh#gmail.com"
],
"Location": [
"Banglore",
"Surat",
"Pune"
]
}
}
}
'''
println convert(json)
String convert(String json) {
def list = new JsonSlurper().parseText(json)
List<String> units = list.storageNode.properties.BusinessUnit
List<String> contacts = list.storageNode.properties.Contact
List<String> locations = list.storageNode.properties.Location
def result = []
units.eachWithIndex { unit, int index ->
result << [
BusinessUnit: unit,
Contact : contacts.size() > index ? contacts[index] : '',
Location : locations.size() > index ? locations[index] : '',
]
}
return new JsonBuilder(result).toPrettyString()
}
I've omitted the logic of getting string from the message and packaging transformed JSON into message.
I hope it will help you to move forward. Please let me know if you need further assistance here.
You can use the built-in Groovy facilities, like transpose():
import groovy.json.*
def json = new JsonSlurper().parseText '''{ "id":"1222", "storageNode": { "uuid": "22255566336", "properties": {
"BuinessUnit": [ "Light", "Fan", "Watch" ],
"Contact": [ "abc#gmail.com", "fhh#gmail.com" ],
"Location": [ "Banglore", "Surat", "Pune" ] } } }'''
def names = json.storageNode.properties*.key
def values = json.storageNode.properties*.value
int maxSize = values*.size().max()
// pad lists with trainiling spaces
values.each{ v -> ( maxSize - v.size() ).times{ v << '' } }
def result = values.transpose().collect{ tuple -> [ names, tuple ].transpose().collectEntries{ it } }
assert result.toString() == '[[BuinessUnit:Light, Contact:abc#gmail.com, Location:Banglore], [BuinessUnit:Fan, Contact:fhh#gmail.com, Location:Surat], [BuinessUnit:Watch, Contact:, Location:Pune]]'
This piece of code can process everything under storageNode.properties.
I would like to do the following using terraform:
I have 2 JSONs:
1.json:
[
{
"description": "description1",
"url": "url1",
"data": "data1"
},
{
"description": "description2",
"url": "url2",
"data": "data2",
"action": "action2"
},
{
"description": "description3",
"url": "url3",
"data": "data3"
}
]
2.json:
[
{
"description": "description1",
"url": "url1",
"data": "data1"
},
{
"description": "description2_new",
"url": "url2",
"data": "data2_new"
},
{
"description": "description4",
"url": "url4",
"data": "data4"
}
]
and I want to merge them into one. Dictionaries from the second JSON should override dictionaries from the first one if url key is the same. I.e. combined JSON should look like:
[
{
"description": "description1",
"url": "url1",
"data": "data1"
},
{
"description": "description2_new",
"url": "url2",
"data": "data2_new"
},
{
"description": "description3",
"url": "url3",
"data": "data3"
},
{
"description": "description4",
"url": "url4",
"data": "data4"
}
]
Using python I can easily do it:
import json
with open('1.json') as f:
json1 = json.load(f)
with open('2.json') as f:
json2 = json.load(f)
def list_to_dict(json_list):
res_dict = {}
for d in json_list:
res_dict[d['url']] = d
return res_dict
def merge_json(json1, json2):
j1 = list_to_dict(json1)
j2 = list_to_dict(json2)
j1.update(j2)
res_list = []
for key in j1.keys():
res_list.append(j1[key])
return res_list
print(json.dumps(merge_json(json1, json2), indent=4))
How can I do that using terraform?
Using terraform 0.12.x
$ cat main.tf
locals {
# read from files and turn into json
list1 = jsondecode(file("1.json"))
list2 = jsondecode(file("2.json"))
# iterate over lists and turn url into a unique key
dict1 = { for item in local.list1 : item.url => item }
dict2 = { for item in local.list2 : item.url => item }
# combine both dictionaries so values converge
# only take its values
merged = values(merge(local.dict1, local.dict2))
}
output "this" {
value = local.merged
}
$ terraform apply
Apply complete! Resources: 0 added, 0 changed, 0 destroyed.
Outputs:
this = [
{
"data" = "data1"
"description" = "description1"
"url" = "url1"
},
{
"data" = "data2_new"
"description" = "description2_new"
"url" = "url2"
},
{
"data" = "data3"
"description" = "description3"
"url" = "url3"
},
{
"data" = "data4"
"description" = "description4"
"url" = "url4"
},
]
Terraform supports expanding a list into function parameters using the ... operator. This will allow an arbitrary number of documents to be read.
(I'm not sure, but I believe this feature was added in v0.15)
For this example, I added a new file 3.json with the contents:
[
{
"description": "description4_new",
"url": "url4",
"data": "data4_new"
}
]
For main.tf, I'm using the same logic as #someguyonacomputer's answer:
$ cat main.tf
locals {
jsondocs = [
for filename in fileset(path.module, "*.json") : jsondecode(file(filename))
]
as_dicts = [
for arr in local.jsondocs : {
for obj in arr : obj.url => obj
}
]
# This is where the '...' operator is used
merged = merge(local.as_dicts...)
}
output "as_list" {
value = values(local.merged)
}
Result:
Changes to Outputs:
+ as_list = [
+ {
+ data = "data1"
+ description = "description1"
+ url = "url1"
},
+ {
+ data = "data2_new"
+ description = "description2_new"
+ url = "url2"
},
+ {
+ data = "data3"
+ description = "description3"
+ url = "url3"
},
+ {
+ data = "data4_new"
+ description = "description4_new"
+ url = "url4"
},
]

I am new to groovy and trying
1) from the output of prettyPrint(toJson()), I am trying to get a list of values from a specific key inside an json array using groovy. Using the below JSON output from prettyPrint example below, I am trying to create a list which consists only the values of the name key.
My Code:
def string1 = jiraGetIssueTransitions(idOrKey: jira_id)
echo prettyPrint(toJson(string1.data))
def pretty = prettyPrint(toJson(string1.data))
def valid_strings = readJSON text: "${pretty}"
echo "valid_strings.name : ${valid_strings.name}"
Output of prettyPrint(toJson(string1.data))is below JSON:
{
"expand": "places",
"places": [
{
"id": 1,
"name": "Bulbasaur",
"type": {
"grass",
"poison"
}
},
{
"id": 2,
"name": "Ivysaur",
"type": {
"grass",
"poison"
}
}
}
Expected result
valid_strings.name : ["Bulbasaur", "Ivysaur"]
Current output
valid_strings.name : null
The pretty printed JSON content is invalid.
If the JSON is valid, then names can be accessed as follows:
import groovy.json.JsonSlurper
def text = """
{
"expand": "places",
"places": [{
"id": 1,
"name": "Bulbasaur",
"type": [
"grass",
"poison"
]
},
{
"id": 2,
"name": "Ivysaur",
"type": [
"grass",
"poison"
]
}
]
}
"""
def json = new JsonSlurper().parseText(text)
println(json.places*.name)
Basically, use spray the attribute lookup (i.e., *.name) on the appropriate object (i.e., json.places).
I've used something similar to print out elements within the response in ReadyAPI
import groovy.json.*
import groovy.util.*
def json='[
{ "message" : "Success",
"bookings" : [
{ "bookingId" : 60002172,
"bookingDate" : "1900-01-01T00:00:00" },
{ "bookingId" : 59935582,
"bookingDate" : "1900-01-01" },
{ "bookingId" : 53184048,
"bookingDate" : "2019-01-15",
"testId" : "12803798123",
"overallScore" : "PASS" },
{ "bookingId" : 53183765,
"bookingDate" : "2019-01-15T13:45:00" },
{ "bookingId" : 52783312,
"bookingDate" : "1900-01-01" }
]
}
]
def response = context.expand( json )
def parsedjson = new groovy.json.JsonSlurper().parseText(response)
log.info parsedjson
log.info " Count of records returned: " + parsedjson.size()
log.info " List of bookingIDs in this response: " + parsedjson.bookings*.bookingId
I want to print out JSON images as a variable.
This is my local JSON file (JsonData.json):
{
"appetizer": [
{
"num": "appetizer1",
"name": "salad",
"condition": [ "1", "2" ],
"image": "./appetizer/salad.png"
},
{
"num": "appetizer2",
"name": "soup",
"condition": [ "2", "3" ],
"image": "./appetizer/soup.png"
},
…
],
"main": [
{
"num": "main1",
"name": "beef",
"condition": [ "1" ],
"image": "./main/beef.png"
},
{
"num": "main2",
"name": "fish",
"condition": [ "2", "3" ],
"image": "./main/fish.png"
},
…
]
}
I filtered the name when condition="2". (salad,soup,fish)
This is the code for filtering name:
const newArray1 = [...JsonData["apptizer"], ...JsonData["main"]];
const JsonResult = newArray1.filter(item => {
if(item.condition.indexOf("2") !== -1) return item.name;
});
AND I want to get the image when condition="2".
How can I get them? And How can I print out them?
Do I have to use base64? If so, Can you tell me how to use it?
I saw the explanation, but I can't understand it.
And I imported JSON file this way (I've been correctly using it):
var JsonData = require('./JsonData.json');
You can use below code:
let mainObject = JSON.parse(JSON.stringify(data))
let allKeys = Object.keys(mainObject)
let finalObject = []
allKeys.map((value, index) => {
let array = mainObject[value]
array.map((aryObject, aryIndex) => {
let condition = aryObject['condition']
if (condition.includes('2')) {
finalObject.push(aryObject)
}
})
})
alert(JSON.stringify(finalObject))
You can import data in top of screen:
import { data } from './data';
You can add below text in data.js:
export const data = {
"appetizer": [
{
"num": "appetizer1",
"name": "salad",
"condition": ["1"],
"image": "./appetizer/salad.png"
},
{
"num": "appetizer2222",
"name": "soup",
"condition": ["2", "3"],
"image": "./appetizer/soup.png"
},
],
"main": [
{
"num": "main1",
"name": "beef",
"condition": ["1"],
"image": "./main/beef.png"
},
{
"num": "main2",
"name": "fish",
"condition": ["21", "3"],
"image": "./main/fish.png"
},
]
}
You can use Object#values to get the arrays corresponding to appetizer and main and then Array#flat to extract the nested objects into a transformed array. Then use the Array#filter (which you are already using) to filter out only the required objects based on your condition and then Array#map to get the name and image values out of every filtered object into an array of objects.
Please consider following snippts
const jsonData = {"appetizer":[{"num":"appetizer1","name":"salad","condition":["1","2"],"image":"./appetizer/salad.png"},{"num":"appetizer2","name":"soup","condition":["2","3"],"image":"./appetizer/soup.png"}],"main":[{"num":"main1","name":"beef","condition":["1"],"image":"./main/beef.png"},{"num":"main2","name":"fish","condition":["2","3"],"image":"./main/fish.png"}]};
const filteredValues = Object.values(jsonData)
.flat()
.filter(o => o.condition.includes('2'))
.map(({name, image}) => ({ name, image }));
console.log(filteredValues);
The output of the above code will be an array of objects having the following structure
[{
"name": SOME_NAME,
"image": SOME_PATH
},
{
"name": SOME_NAME,
"image": SOME_PATH
},
...
]
You can use the above array to retrieve your image path and display it accordingly.
I think you shouldn't be worried about base64 as images are stored locally and path will be sufficient to display the image.
Hope this will help!!!
Side Note: You can avoid the Array#flat part as you are already doing it manually [...JsonData["apptizer"], ...JsonData["main"]] but flat will be handy in case there are more keys in jsonData that need to be considered.
So I'm trying to convert a nested dictionary like:
A = {
"root":
{
"child1":
{
"child11":"hmm",
"child12":"not_hmm"
},
"child2":"hello"
}
}
To this:
{
"name":"root",
"children": [
{"name":"child1",
"children" :
[{"name":"child11",
"children":[{"name":"hmm"}]}
{"name":"child12",
"children":[{"name":"not_hmm"}]}
]
},
{"name":"child2",
"children":[{"name":"hello"}]
}
]
}
I need this, since I'm trying to visualize it with this graph drawing template: Collapsible Tree
I'm having some trouble creating a recursive method that is capable of this transformation.
Preferably in python3. So far I have:
def visit(node, parent=None):
B = {}
for k,v in node.items():
B["name"]=k
B["children"] = []
if isinstance(v,dict):
print("Key value pair is",k,v)
B["children"].append(visit(v,k))
new_dict = {}
new_dict["name"]=v
return [new_dict]
C = visit(A) # This should have the final result
But its wrong. Any help is appreciated.
We'll have a function that takes a root (assuming it has only one entry), and returns a dict, as well as a helper function that returns lists of dicts.
def convert(d):
for k, v in d.items():
return {"name": k, "children": convert_helper(v)}
def convert_helper(d):
if isinstance(d, dict):
return [{"name": k, "children": convert_helper(v)} for k, v in d.items()]
else:
return [{"name": d}]
which gives us
json.dumps(convert(A), indent=2)
{
"name": "root",
"children": [
{
"name": "child1",
"children": [
{
"name": "child11",
"children": [
{
"name": "hmm"
}
]
},
{
"name": "child12",
"children": [
{
"name": "not_hmm"
}
]
}
]
},
{
"name": "child2",
"children": [
{
"name": "hello"
}
]
}
]
}
