No Privlieges to create database in phpmyadmin Mamp - mysql

I am using bitnami provided "mampstack-7.1.15-0".
I am trying to run an existing laravel application which i developed in wamp stack. Now i try to login to the phpmyadmin and create the database manually required for the application to run.
But i get the "No privileges" text in the databases screen of phpmyadmin.
Seems to be a problem with phpmyadmin because with mysql CLI its working with the user.
I followed some of the solutions mentioned in other SO posts but could not get this working.
Best Regards,
Saurav

Can't see phpmyadmin database on my localhost [MacOS]

I imported a MySQL database (.sql file) to phpmyadmin on MAMP, so i can reach all tables and records on phpmyadmin UI via browser but I can not see this database on my terminal and other database applications. While I can see the databases that I created before but I cannot see that database which created on phpmyadmin. I have checked port number and other connection credentials too many times.
I have already searched this problem on web but couldn't find a working solution.
Any kind of help would be appreciated, thank you.

Is it possible to run MySQL not as a service

I need to get WAMP stack running on a Windows 7 computer with no admin access.
I managed to get Apache running not as a service and I'm trying to get MySQL working now. I've tried SQLite, but it crashes on the Drupal install.
Is there a way to run MySQL not as a service?
I found this explanation for getting it running without installation, but get the error:
mysqld: Could not create or access the registry key needed for the MySQL
application to log to the Windows EventLog. Run the application with sufficient
privileges once to create the key, add the key manually, or turn off logging
for that application
I'm aware there is another self-answered question on here, but the solution isn't actually what I need.
Sometimes, there is already a MySQL server running on your machine. Try the following steps:
Type Services in search box
Find MySQL service and right click it to stop it.
Try to connect your server in XAMPP or wampp.

The mysqli error was: Unknown database

I am importing a mysql database from the webserver to my local system for a migration from drupal 6 to drupal 8.
I did an Export with phpmyadmin on the server. Then I created the database locally also with phpmyadmin and imported my dump from the server via phpmyadmin's import function.
Then I created the user with the setting of my drupal 6 configuration.
I can see the database in phpmyadmin if I connect with my local root user.
I cannot connect with the user created from the settings ( lets call that the drupal_db_user)
If I call the drupal site on my local apache ( apache & mysql server are running or my phpmyadmin would not work) I get the messeage from drupal:
"The mysqli error was: Unknown database 'my_drupal_db'."
Via Mysqlworkbench I am also not able to conntect to the my_drupal_db with the drupal_db_user.
I use locally php 5.6 and mysql 5.6 on a ubuntu system.
Creating the user and db via mysql console also did not help.
Any clue what might be wrong here? I suspect it could be the password encryption, but I have no clue how to check / change that other than trying the two options phpmyadmin (version 4.6) is offering me.
I guess you dont need to backup on your pc as the files that you exported from server is a backup on its own. Just download the sql file update to drupal 8 and finally import the file and you should have it installed.
Or simply try importing the exported file from server to another subdomain drupal 8 as a test. To check If it really works.
Found the problem.
after at least 3 hours poking around and cursing.....
When I created the database locally I had by mistake an whitespace in front of the db name.
Which by the way was possible... I didn't know you could even create databases with whitespaces in the name.
What let me find the error was this post:
https://drupal.stackexchange.com/questions/27050/fatal-error-pdoexception-sqlstate42000-1049-unknown-database
and the hint with this query:
SELECT * FROM my_drupal_db.users
which of course failed and made me really question the database name.
Hope that helps someone else saving 3 hours!

Connecting my MySQL databases to phpMyAdmin

I am running Mac OS 10.10.2. I have recently been educating myself about php and SQL in order to create an online database application for my employer. However, I have been unable to load up my MySQL databases in phpMyAdmin. I have tried following some advice from this forum, but no answers seem to solve my issue.
I installed MySQLWorkbench (Ver. 6.2.4.12437) as well as XAMPP (Ver. 5.6.3-0), and was using phpMyAdmin to have a play around and better understand what I was getting myself into. I then found one of those follow-the-bouncing-ball type teaching websites which advised me to download and install the MySQL community server (Currently running Ver. 5.6.23)
As instructed, I was learning SQL commands through Terminal and built up some databases/tables this way. I decided I wanted to jump into phpMyAdmin where I felt it'd be easier to continue my work. At first XAMPP was unable to turn on the servers which I overcame by uninstalling and reinstalling. Then I was getting a #2002 error when trying to access phpMyAdmin. I tinkered with config files and put in details relating to my localhost MySQL server (Or at least I assume as much).
I was able to get back into phpMyAdmin finally, but my databases made through terminal are not there.
phpMyAdmin shows: cdcol (the example database), information_schema, mysql, performance_schema, phpmyadmin, and test.
If I open terminal and punch in 'mysql' then 'SHOW DATABASES;' it only lists: information_schema.
If I open terminal and punch in 'mysql' with username 'root' and my password, then 'SHOW DATABASES;' it lists: information_schema, mysql, performance_schema, my tutorial/learning database, and my business database. I dropped the test database from here. THESE are what I want to bring up in phpMyAdmin.
I can only guess that I haven't got it configured properly to access this last mysql server, but I can't determine where I am going wrong. If anyone can shed some light on this, that'd be greatly appreciated.
It appears as if you have two MySQL instances; one from the XAMPP and also the MySQL Community Server that you installed yourself.
The "M" of XAMPP is for MySQL, so yes usually it runs its own MySQL server instance. That's sort of the point of the packaged kit, so you don't have to worry about having any of your own applications installed. In theory it should be no problem to stop the XAMPP MySQL instance and instead use your other one, but may require tweaking some configuration files and is probably not supported. If you can make it work, I don't see a reason why it would be a problem, though.
My suggestion is to either use the complete XAMPP stack or roll your own installation rather than mix and match.

Restore Mysql database in Windows Azure

I'm running a wordpress blog on Windows Azure Website (free).
I've tried to create another blog and use other database. As I'm using a free mode, it denied me to create a new database, so I chose to use the same.
It didn't work and I decided to delete this second site. But now, I can't access my first site.
The error message is : "Error establishing a database connection".
Is there a way to handle this?
No.
You can't restore a deleted MySQL database. Especially in preview feature.
Actually I contacted ClearDB, because they are responsable for MySQL databases running in Azure, and they restored my DB.
