We have on-premise Power BI Report Server we use to share reports with internal users. I would like to hide/mask the report server name when sharing the link. We do not want the user to see the Server Name.
How can I achieve this in a link similar to one shown below?
http://ServerName/Reports/powerbi/MyFolder/MyReport
List item go to report server configuration manager then go to web portal url tab and click advanced then add ip or name
if you have network you can use localhost or ip in first of url
you can write a web application for hiding the web portal and your users seen your UI
if you have web or desktop application you can use query string or url directing

We have a 3-rd party (like a portal) hosting our SSRS Report Viewer inside an iFrame. The source of the iFrame is an ASP.NET web form page with the Report Viewer control. We pass the credentials to the Report Viewer from the code behind and everything works fine. Reports render in the viewer and the aspx page is running on an HTTPS site.
The report developer placed a hyperlink on a report that opens an non-HTTP url to the Report Sever that is supposed to download an Excel file. But the Report Server is behind a DMZ (actually running as a Windows Service and not IIS) and prompts users for credentials and only downloads the Excel file when the Report Server credentials (same ones used by the Report Viewer) are entered. This sounds like a double-hop issue.
Anybody trying to browse to the URL manually also get a prompt until they are authenticated because the SSRS is not in our domain.
TL;DR;
Is there anyway to pass the credentials of the Report Server from within a hyperlink inside the Report Viewer?
Functions as designed. Reports Developer did not really understand implementation details and found a work around.
I am able to setup and run the SSRS 2016 environment for reporting purposes
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/reporting-services/web-portal-ssrs-native-mode
When i try to access the portal [ similar to the one explained in above link] i can see all my reports and all is working .
ON top right corner of the web portal it shows the user details who currently accessed the portal and its by default the windows user who logged in to the windows. But in a specific scenario i have multiple windows users and i have to to access this report as a different windows user.
For this now i am doing the steps
close the browser
clear cache
open browser and reload report url [localhost/report/browse]
it will ask to input user name and password and i am able to logged in as different user
But is it possible to implement a logout kind of feature similar to webapps so we can redirects to Login page again in SSRS 2016 Web Portal . Is it possible ? Since i cant see anything in the documentation related to this. Can someone helps to get an idea about the implementation
I have this issue a lot while trying to setup sensible hierarchical SSRS security based on AD Groups and SSRS Server Roles and SSRS Folder Security Roles. After my browser caches creds from my NTLM challenge response, I can open an Incognito browser and login with different creds.
I want to see if it's possible to have only one URL for accessing reporting services from desktop as well as from mobile device like Ipad. Currently we have to use "reportserver" URL if accessing via Ipad. Like to have a more streamlined solution where we can distribute one URL to access reporting services web site and users can use it irrespective of weather they login through mobile device or desktop. Not sure why we need two URLs anyway.
Thanks
This is more of an IIS feature than a Reporting Services feature, but it is achievable. The following guide gives an example of solving a similar issue: http://forums.iis.net/t/1169853.aspx?URL+rewrite+for+Mobile+Cell+phone+devices
Essentially, you need to create a list of URL rewrites in your config file on the webserver that runs SSRS.
i'm using SQL Server 2012 and i've created a report with The Data Tool.
Now i want to publish this report on the Server Report.I've changed the virtual folder in "ReportServer_MONITORING"
but when i write:
http://<servername>/ReportServer_MONITORING
I don't get the page of the manager but something like a simple exploration page:
Can someone help me?
Thanks
You're going to the Report Server Web Service web page; this is different from the Report Manager website.
You most likely need:
http://<servername>/Reports_MONITORING
You can confirm by looking in the Reporting Services Configuration manager and confirming the two URLs:
I am trying to display an SSRS report inside the sharepoint 2010 report viewer web part here is my configuratio
SSRS web service url servername:port/reports
my report path is: Folder/Report1
having entered this information in the web part's configuration all I see is a directory view of all folder
Sever/Reports -/
Data Sources
DataSets
Folder
any ideas?
Thanks
How about trying to configure with servername:port/ReportServer instead ?
These are the web services (/reportserver ... unless your SSRS is configured in an "exotic" way), the other (/server) is the web administration interface.
