Responsive navbar with dropdown table and logo between divs - html

I`m trying to make this navbar responsive, and have not found a code that works in this example. When I adjust the width of the screen, I want all the links (not the logo) to be gathered in a hamburger icon, so in portrait mode it will only display the logo and the hamburger icon with the links.
https://www.w3schools.com/howto/tryit.asp?filename=tryhow_js_responsive_navbar_dropdown This example is very close to what I would like, but the content in my navbar is centered with a logo in between the links, and I couldn`t make it work. Also I want the third element (the logo) to be displayed instead of the first link (when the width reaches a certain point). Any help would be greatly appreciated

You can add class to the wrapper div of logo img tag
and add css position: absolute; top: 10px; left: 10px to it for smaller devices using css media queries.
Else (not recommended), you can use two img tags. Hide one on desktop and another on mobile using display: block / display: none.

You could remove the logo from the nav and add a spacer element in its place. Then use absolute position on the logo to get it into place. It's a bit hacky, but would work. https://codepen.io/nickberens360/pen/bZmGWy

Logo above Navbar

i am curios on how i would get a logo above the Navbar
Like this:
I am not really sure how i can achieve this, i basically want the navbar to not be at the very top, but have the logo-top at the top of the site, then have the Navbar centered on the Logo, while the Logo is above the Navbar, so basically a part of the Navbar should be hidden behind it, and then align the buttons left and right of it

You could use flex box model and play around with the negative margin on the logo (I use .middle-logo class in here as an example):
body {
margin: 0;
font-size: 28px;
font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
}
.navbar {
background-color: grey;
display: flex;
align-items: center;
justify-content: center;
margin-top: 10px;
}
.navbar a {
display: inline-block;
font-size: 16px;
color: white;
text-align: center;
padding: 14px 16px;
text-decoration: none;
}
.dropdown {
display: inline-block;
}
.dropdown .dropbtn {
display: inline-block;
font-size: 16px;
border: none;
outline: none;
color: white;
padding: 14px 16px;
background-color: inherit;
font-family: inherit;
margin: 0;
}
.navbar a:hover,
.dropdown:hover .dropbtn {
background-color: red;
}
.dropdown-content {
display: none;
position: absolute;
background-color: #f9f9f9;
min-width: 160px;

}
.dropdown-content a {
float: none;
color: black;
padding: 12px 16px;
text-decoration: none;
display: block;
text-align: left;
}
.dropdown-content a:hover {

}

I used a random width/height here though, but the important part here is to use that negative margin, you could just adjust it according to your need
You can change the layer of your image/logo with z-index in css

Dropdown menu in navbar getting stuck

I'm trying to make a Navbar with a dropdown menu. I want 'Clips' to have a dropdown menu with 3 links. But I can't seem to get it to work.
If i set the position to absolute i get them stacked on top of eachother en when i change it to relative they go inside the link. Can someone help? Do I have to change the selectors?
Thanks in advance!

How can I make my nav bar not overlap on mobile

The navbar I created overlaps when I switch my site to a mobile view.
I tried making it fit-content, but it still overlaps. The part that overlaps is the listed items
#navBar {
overflow: hidden;
text-align: center;
border-top: double black 2px;
}
#navBar ul {
padding: 0;
list-style: none;
width: fit-content;
}
#navBar li {
display: inline;
padding-top: 23px;
position: relative;
}
#navBar a {
font-size: 20px;
padding-right: 20px;
text-decoration: none;
text-align: center;
border: 4px solid lime;
padding-bottom: 10px;
padding-top: 20px;
padding-left: 10px;
font-family: American Typewriter, serif;
color: #262626;
text-transform: uppercase;
border-radius: 0px 0px 25px 25px;
}
#navBar a:hover {
color: lime;
}
#navBar a::before {
content: '';
display: block;
height: 5px;
width: 100%;
background-color: lime;
position: absolute;
top: 0;
width: 0%;
transition: all ease-in-out 250ms;
}
#navBar::hover::before {
width: 100%;
}
<nav id="navBar">
<div class="bar">
<ul>
<li>Tab1</li>
<li>Tab2 </li>
<li> Tab3</li>
</ul>
</div>
</nav>
I expect the navbar items to be side by side but the actual result in them overlapping.
You can use inline-flex for that
change
#navBar ul {
padding: 0;
margin: 0; /* reset margin */
list-style: none;
width: fit-content;
}
#navBar li {
display: inline-flex; /* change to inline-flex and remove the padding */
position: relative;
}
#navBar {
overflow: hidden;
text-align: center;
border-top: double black 2px;
}
#navBar ul {
padding: 0;
margin: 0;
list-style: none;
width: fit-content;
}
#navBar li {
display: inline-flex;
position: relative;
}
#navBar a {

navigation drop down displays too far left

I have been working on fixing this but cannot figure out what I am missing. I would like for drop down list to show right below its parent. The list shows but all go to far left and forces the remaining nav items to drop down to another line. i have included a snippet for what is currently looks like and an image of what I want it to look like. Also, I have been trying to figure out how to add down fa fa-caret to nav items with drop down list. Please help!

You can achieve this by first making the div.list element into an absolute positioned. The 'display:block' property was pushing all the other content down to the next row because the block element was taking up space.
As you see now the list is no longer pushing the content down but now it is not aligned to the correct nav item. We are also going to add a left:0 so that the div.list is to the left of the parent property.
Now the parent property needs a position of relative so that the left:0 on the child element is being positioned relative to the parent element.
.dropdown:hover .list {
display: block;
position: absolute;
left: 0;
}
.navbar li {
border-left: solid 2px #000000;
display: inline;
list-style-type: none;
width: 800px;
padding: 0;
position: relative;
}
The problem with your CSS code is, you missed to add position: relative and position: absolute to the .dropdown and .list selectors, which is compulsory to create dropdown. Try this code.
.navbar {
background: linear-gradient(#9E0A0C, #EBEBEB);
padding: 10px;
border-top: solid 1px #000000;
}
.navbar a {
text-decoration: none;
color: #ffffff;
font-weight: bolder;
font-size: 20px;
text-transform: uppercase;
padding: 3px 5px;
margin: auto;
/*float: left; may need to be removed to show borders*/
display: inline;
}
.navbar ul {
padding: 0;
margin-top: 0;
width: auto;
}
.navbar li {
border-left: solid 2px #000000;
display: inline;
list-style-type: none;
width: 800px;
padding: 0;
}
.navbar a:active {
background-color: #000000;
}
.navbar li:hover > a {
background-color: #ddd;
color: black;
}
li:first-child {
border-left: none;
}
.dropdown {
display: block;
overflow: hidden;
position: relative;
/*float: left;*/
}
.list {
display: none;
min-width: 50px;
max-width: 150px;
z-index: 2;
box-shadow: 0 8px 16px 0 #e7e7e7;
background: #050243;
position: absolute;
left: 0;
top: 100%;
}
.list a {
color: #000000;
float: none;
font-size: 14px;
text-decoration: none;
display: block;
text-align: left;
background-color: #B6B6B6;
columns: 2;
}
.list a:hover {
background-color: #EEEEEE;
}
.dropdown:hover .list {

}

How do I make my CSS dropdown menu color scheme differentiate from the body color scheme?

So, my newer index is here, but the DropDown link list(when you hover over the link stuff you will see it) on the blog portion of my website which is here does not change. Any help would be nice. This is the menu bar for my website with the link list that is set up as a widget, since it's a blogger blog attached to the website itself:
<style type="text/css">

left: -703.8px;
width: 940px;
font-size:19px;
font-family: Geo;
}
li {
float: left;
text-align: center;
