I insert page header for the report and found that it will always freeze in the excel. I just want the page header can always show in each page of PDF but not freeze in Excel. I don't want the header always pin in top when I am scrolling.
Is there any property can select to solve this problem?
If you want to repeat page header in each page without fixing it, you could add a textbox in report, then set "Repeat With" corresponding Tablix(which each group one page).
Or insert a List, insert a textbox(with corresponding text) in List, set List group properties with corresponding Group and set page break between each instance.
Or you could set this in Excel, View->Freeze Pane->Unfreeze

I have selected “Keep header visible while scrolling” under Column Headers? But it not worked when I scrolling the report, my report type is tabular(not maxtrix) and the datasources have 105 rows data. Can you please help me on how to freeze the column header
You probably need to use Advanced Mode to set your header.
Select your table
On the Grouping window at the bottom, click on the down
arrow/wedge/triangle/caron
Click on Advanced Mode (the only option in the drop down menu).
Click on the first Static line to select it
In the properties window, set the Fixed Data to True
How to display Table header in the multiple pages if we cannot include the Table header either in "Page Header or Footer" . Basically i dont want the table header to display in the first page because its already there in the the body.
i have tried putting table header in the Page header then tried to hide it with
=iif(Globals!PageNumber = 1, TRUE, FALSE)
it works, But its destroying my other information(Like images and Report Name) in the Page Header by putting everything on the left side (No Idea why).
Please help me fix this.
If you want to repeat tablix header in each of the page in SSRS report than you can do it by opening the tablix property and check Row headers and column headers section just like below image
Also if you want to repeat (fix) you header section in scroll then click on tablix and in Column Groups select Advanced mode just like below image
inside the advanced mode there will be all columns will be loaded just like below image
In row group select static option as selected in image and open property window by clicking F4 in that select FixedData as true just like below image
it will fix header on scroll too just like we fix column in Excel.
I have a Report in SSRS that displays some logos at the top of the first page. I just got a requirement to add the possibility to also show the logos in the second page -- The report is only two pages. Is there a way to repeat the same Image objects in the second page?
If your report is specifically laid out to span multiple pages, you can use a repeating page header. If not (i.e., the second page is caused by content overflow), and you know it will always be two pages or less, you can use a page header and select "print on first page" and "print on last page" in report properties. Otherwise, if you have tablix controls causing the page span, and your page design allows, you can put the logos in the tablix header and enable repeat header on all pages for the tablix. If none of those work, you'll be stuck, as far as I know.

If you are showing Image in the header then you need to following things:
Adding a Data-Bound Image to a Header or Footer
You can use image data stored in a database in a header or footer. However, you cannot reference database fields from the Image report item directly. Instead, you must add a text box in the body of the report and then set the text box to the data field that contains the image (note that the value must be base64 encoded). You can hide the text box in the body of the report to avoid showing the base64-encoded image. Then, you can reference the value of the hidden text box from the Image report item in the page header or footer.
For example, suppose you have a report that consists of product information pages. In the header of each page, you want to display a photograph of the product. To print a stored image in the report header, define a hidden text box named TXT_Photo in the body of the report that retrieves the image from the database and use an expression to give it a value:
=Convert.ToBase64String(Fields!Photo.Value)
In the header, add an Image report item which uses the TXT_Photo text box, decoded to show the image:
=Convert.FromBase64String(ReportItems!TXT_Photo.Value)

TO repeat image on every page
IN addition to this, to repeat this image into everyt page, Go to property of TXT_Photo textbox In General tab, tick the check box "Repeat report item with data region on every page" and select your region.

How to Repeat Page Header on each Page.
Repeat on NewPage Property is not appearing in ssrs 2008 tablix memeber property
After a little experimentation, I figured out how to consistently get the table header to repeat on every page.
The setting of the RepeatColumnHeaders property on the tablix seems to have no effect on this behavior. Instead, we have to set it on a static member of the row groups.
To see the static members of the row groups, click on the small drop down arrow on the far right of the row groups/columns groups header. Then select Advanced Mode.
With the static members of the row group shown, select the first one in the list. The top left cell of the tablix should be selected in the designer.
Now open the property pane and find the property RepeatOnNewPage and set it to True.
Then find the property KeepWithGroup and make sure it's set to After. If it's not, set it to After.
Now your table header will repeat on every page.
Depending on how you created your new report, the Tablix xml may or may not have attached the correct properties to the "Header" row of the tablix.
Here is another thread on SQL Server Central with the fix:
http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic593245-1063-1.aspx
Here is the important bit:
for SSRS 2008,
If a report with a table is created using the wizard feature (In Solution Explorer, right click on >Reports --> Add New Report) Table Headers will repeat on every page.
Instead if a report is created without using the wizard (In Solution Explorer, right click on Reports --> Add --> New Item) Table Headers will not repeat on every page. Setting Repeat Header (Rows/Columns) on each Page for the Tablix will not help either.
If you have already built the report and cannot rebuild using the steps above and if and only if you are comfortable altering the xml behind the rdl, do the following. (Save a Backup rdl first)
View Code.
Look for TablixRowHierarchy
Below that there will be a TablixMember that corresponds to the header row.
to that header and any other header rows ( Tablix Member) add the three element properties.
<TablixRowHierarchy>
<TablixMembers>
<TablixMember>
<KeepWithGroup>After</KeepWithGroup>
<RepeatOnNewPage>true</RepeatOnNewPage>
<KeepTogether>true</KeepTogether>
</TablixMember>
...
You should see the header rows repeating.
I tried this in my own Report and found it fixed the problem.
You could also turn on "Advanced Mode" in the Row/Column Groups window and then modify each Static Row entries "RepeatOnNewPage" setting. You'll probably have to set "KeepWithGroup" to "After" as well.
This works well if you utilize a subreport as your header.
You can repeat page headings on every page if your page breaks are due to breaks between groups (hard pagination). You cannot repeat page headings between pages if the pagination is due to a small interactive page size (soft pagination). To repeat page headers on each page between groups, make the headers of the tablix part of the group and under the General tab of the Tablix Properties window check Column Headers -> Repeat header rows on each page. You can also do this from the general properties window of the Tablix by using the RepeatcolumnHeaders = True.
Please note my comments are limited to developing SSRS 2008 reports in BIDS. I do not know if this functionality exists in Report Builder.
here the steps you can follow. this resolved the issue(column header on each page):
1) in design mode of rdl file, at bottom you will find "Row Groups" and "Column Groups" (left and right, respectively). Beside Column Groups you will find one arrow button.(this arrow button is right side of column groups protion). click on this arrow button.
2) Check the "Advanced Mode"
3) RowGroups section you will find "(static)" and "(Details)". click on static and press F4(to check it's properties.)
4) provide "Keep With Group" as "After"
5)Provide "Repeat On New Page" as "True"
6) Go back to table, Right click on row header, Go to tablix properties.
7) check on "repeat Header Column on each page" and "repeat Header column on each Rows"
Hope this will help you.
I've got the following report setup:
1. Letterhead (not in the header, since i only want it on the first page)
2. List control with some data
when i export the report to PDF, and the contents of the List are less that one full page - my letterhead is displayed on the first page (the rest of the page is empty) and the List content gets moved to the second page.
if the List grows over 1 page - reports is showing up just fine (Letterhead and portion of the list on the first page - the rest on the second page)
It looks like it tries to keep the list on 1 page as long as its contents fit on the page - but when you add the letterhead to the contents it overflows the page, and the list gets bumped down to the next page.
Is there any way to keep the list on the first page regardless of its size.
Putting the letterhead in the list is my last resort, I'd like to hear some other solutions.
uploaded a sample .rdl to illustrate the problem
got rid of the list for simplicity, the problem seems to be with a textbox wanting to show up on 1 page
p.s. see this question for more details
What is the source of your text? Is it coming from a dataset? If so, Add a paragraph id in it, set your table to group on the paragraph id and show only the group header. In the group, add a bottom padding value of say 5. The table will handle the paragraph breaks for you, and if it grows more the a page it will handle it for you. Make sure that keep together is set to false. The paragraph id will be used to sort the dataset by id ascending.
sorry I didn't notice your comment at the end. The only other thing that i can think of is to shift your list up closer to the header and eliminate all empty space at the end. Also, make sure the KeepTogether option in the list is set to false. This way it will break up your list rather than move it to the next page.
you can put both the letterhead and the list inside a rectangle so they are always grouped together.
Reporting services also tries to keep the relative spaces you have in the designer, so if you list is aligned to the bottom of the page and there is a space form the header; it will keep the space on top and align everything to the bottom of the page.
