I am using Bootstrap 5
Edit: I solved the problem just removed the integrity from bootstrap.bundle.min.js and it worked
Using the button from Bootstrap docs with your id seems to work:
<button class="navbar-toggler" type="button" data-bs-toggle="collapse" data-bs-target="#navbarCollapse" aria-controls="navbarCollapse" aria-expanded="false" aria-label="Toggle navigation">
<span class="navbar-toggler-icon"></span>
</button>
https://getbootstrap.com/docs/5.0/components/navbar/
Edit: maybe you were using the wrong documentation from a previous version.

Trying to get a nav bar with the company name on the left and the login and sign up button on the right. I used a hyperlink for the company name which works fine and is left-aligned and shows when you resize the browser so it resembles iPad.
However, I used a flex-box for the div with the list containing the login and sign up links. This works with normal browsers but when you resize I get this:
How can I fix this? I also want to have an image below but that won't show up either.
Start by removing .d-inline-flex on the div and that should keep the menu closed when the hamburger icon is shown in the responsive breakdown:
/* this aligns the UL to the right when hamburger is clicked */
.navbar-nav {
text-align: right;
}

Please explain this for me very simply, as I'm new to coding. I want to be able to open the hamburger menu on a mobile device.
data-target and the id were not the same.
You need the jquery and bootstrap.js for the dropdown to work.

for people looking for a solution in bootstrap 5, you should replace data-target with data-bs-target.
<button class="navbar-toggler" type="button" data-bs-toggle="collapse" data-bs-target="#forum_navbar"
aria-controls="forum_navbar" aria-expanded="false" aria-label="Toggle navigation">

Sometimes people only import Bootstrap CSS CDN link. They need to be import JavaScript SDN link also for the Hamburger menu etc.
Something to note is the # in data-bs-target which references the id. I didn't notice this small element in the beginning and the hamburger menu wasn't working when clicked.
