I know there are threads with the answer for this question but as a beginner I am having a really hard time understanding the difference between these two. I am learning Access and have not learnt about SQL statements yet. Most explanation to this question consists of SQL code that I do not understand. If you could explain the difference for a beginner that would be great.
If you have a combobox in your form, it will both have a row source and a control source. The control source is the field in the underlying table where the actual values are stored. The row source is the source of the list of values to select from.
Example: You got a table with flowers. One field is color. You want to limit which colors to enter for the flowers. The you make a table called flower_colors.
In your flower form, you then have a combobox. Its control source will be colors from the table flower and the row source will be flower_colors.

I have a database of some devices, each with details on their status for things like maintenance schedule, last calibration date, age, warranty status, etc. One of the points of this database is to give us a yes/no answer whether it should be in service or not, based on all these other data points being a certain way. If this was Excel, I could make a cell and use IF statements to get this automatically, and any time one field like warranty fell out of date, the "in service" field would also switch to "No".
Is it possible for a MySQL database to do this automatically?
Yes. If all the values you need are in one row, you can use a generated column.
If values needed for the calculation come from other rows or tables, then you can use a view.
Other than that, it is hard to provide more specifics because you question lacks helpful details.

I´m not sure if my title is the best, I'll explain my problem:
I have a table t_teamschedule, that keeps the data about who is playing and when. There are another table t_tvts that keeps what tv channel is going to transmit the game. I'm making a report to show this information.
I have a problem with those games that are not going to be in any tvchannel, I want that games in the report, with the tv column empty, but they just doesn't appear. I was looking if there are any way to put some default value so if the select give me no value it add anyway the game, but I don't find anything like that.
Replace your inner join in your query between the two tables with a left outer join.
In the query designer, that means a small arrow at the junction between the t_tvts table and the line that shows the join.

I have a table named 'tweet' and its column 'text'. The column contains a sentence (many words) in each record. Then I wanna search the most word from the column. Is that possible to do that in MySQL query? If so, then I want to know also to add exception words like: 'a', 'I', etc...
I thought it's similar with this post
But it's using PHP.
I very appreciate for any help!
SQL is not the obvious tool for something like this. But, if you are going to use SQL, I would suggest that you parse the text into a TweetWords table, with one row per "tweet" and word in the tweet (along with position information).
If you are inserting the data through PHP, you can do the parsing there and then insert each word independently.
Then the count is easy, using a basic aggregation query.

Im curious what is the distinct use of pivot table in database? I mean, how is it apply in real life.
Pivot query help us to generate an interactive table that quickly combines and compares large amounts of data. We can rotate its rows and columns to see different summaries of the source data, and we can display the details for areas of interest at a glance. It also help us to generate Multidimensional reporting.

I like to use tables as it will allow me to organize the data in a better manner. But now inside my application I am using tables to represents different data which can give misleading meaning. for example I am displaying the list of all record in a table such as:-
Then I am also displaying the details of each record in a table where rows will have different context:-
For me the tables seems clear ,, but am I using tables in the right context?. Or usually table rows should represents the same type of objects (for example different organizations, not different properties about an organization )? ?
Well. Most systems show information using tables. Look at any forum software, for instance. In terms of user-friendliness, you could emphasize your header rows on your top table. On your bottom table, you could emphasize the left row (a darker background or stronger font).
In my opinion using tables in this scenery is ok. All data is exhibited in simple and clear way.
