What version of Revit does AutodeskForge support? - autodesk-forge

When converting the file created by Revit 2014 to SVF, the following error occurred:
The file was saved in an old version of Revit which we don't support.
Please upgrade this project to Revit {0} or later.
I found out that the Revit version is old.
I do not know the range of versions of Revit that AutodeskForge supports.
Does it matter if Revit 2016 or later?

The minimum supported version is Revit 2015. Sorry for not having this information available at the website. It's only shown on https://viewer.autodesk.com, when you click the link called "2D and 3D formats".

Is the Forge Model Upgrader Example Deprecated?

I have connected the Forge Model Upgrade example to my BIM 360 hub.
https://forge.autodesk.com/blog/design-automation-revit-projectfamilytemplate-upgrader-sample
Currently, it does not work.
Is it possible to get it to work?
From comments: the live version works for 2019 models (as designed), but can be modified to support other versions. Output needs to be in a different folder.

BIM 360 Links issue

We are working on an Add-In that makes web requests on Startup. Everything works fine. The only issue is BIM360, when our Add-In is installed in Revit 2021.1.3 and opens an RVT coming from a 2019 version, Revit updates the model and the cloud links get lost and when you click on "Add Link" BIM 360 does not load the folders within BIM 360.
When you uninstall our plugin, the update and load of links works well. No errors are thrown in any case.
Have any of you experienced this issue before?
Finally solved it! It looks that there was some kind of compatibility issue with Nuget Package Newtonsoft.Json v13.0.1. I updated that package to v12.0.3 and the issue went away.
Thank you very much and it would be great if you could pass the issue to Autodesk development team.

Upload models to BIM360 Design, not BIM360 Docs

I'm able to successfully batch upload Revit models to BIM360 Documents (and version them, as well). However, my main goal is to be able to batch upload models to BIM360 Design as our day-to-day (pre-published) design models.
It appears that instead of using type items:autodesk.bim360:File that I should be using items:autodesk.bim360:C4RModel. However, I keep getting "The client_id is not whitelisted for schema items:autodesk.bim360:C4RModel." Is there a way to provision my app to access that?
As a user, I have admin rights to BIM360 Docs, so I don't think it's an individual rights issue.
Thanks!
It’s not possible for you to upload “cloud” models with a
Forge app. It can only be done with a Revit Addin today.
Unfortunately, Forge DM API doesn't support enabling C4R model currently. However, you can do that with Revit API with Revit desktop, see here for the details: https://thebuildingcoder.typepad.com/blog/2019/11/initiating-bim360-collaboration-and-linking.html#2

Upload `POST`local Revit files to BIM 360 using forge

I have a small question regarding Upload local Revit files to BIM 360 using forge, instead of open files using Revit and sync with BIM 360. I would like to build Using web interface and upload the files the idea behind that to save time because we have a lot of files... so if every time I want to sync the Revit project it will take a long time. I am not sure if the tutorial does what I am looking for:
https://forge.autodesk.com/en/docs/data/v2/tutorials/publish-model/
note that I am basically using JS and node JS, and the RVT files on the network location. I already followed the tutorial on learning forge and I managed to access BIM360 same at the tutorial, so now to POST the OBJ to OSS in specific folders.
I hope you get my point just to save time as I mentioned earlier instead open Revit project and Sync. I think we can put POST all the files at ones to BIM 360 using my own application or website 
It sounds the other tutorial should be what you are looking for:
https://forge.autodesk.com/en/docs/data/v2/tutorials/upload-file/
It explains how to upload a local file as a resource item to the project such as version item in the folder of BIM 360. Could you check if it helps?
It is also feasible to transfer the file from your cloud server. After getting the file stream, upload it to storage of BIM 360 (similar to step 4 in the above link shows ).
Please let us know if there is any further question.

Local instance of SVF translator

Is there a local version of the SVF translation process that I could use locally on my computer without having to send my design to forge platform ?
- a standalone application under Autodesk license
- or a revit module ?
I work on project where people do not want to send their design online but still want to use the local version of the viewer.
thank you.
Autodesk Forge doesn't offer a locally hosted translation service. Unfortunately, that means that if your customer is not willing to even temporarily upload their file to the Autodesk server, then they cannot use the Forge Viewer to view their files.
If your customer is ok to temporarily upload a file, then they can upload the file, translate it, download the resulting SVF, and then delete the original file. This sample on GitHub demonstrates that process - https://github.com/cyrillef/extract.autodesk.io.
You can use 3ds MAX to export your files to SVF
