Why can't I import a Library in Google Scripts editor? - google-apps-script

I've recently created a Google Scripts new Project, called Database. Then, I've used a saved version (version 4) of that script in another project and afterwards dropped (by accident) that version of Database. Now, even if a create a new version, when I open in the menu Resources > Libraries of nthe new project, the Database project appears with the version 4.
screen
When I try to change it and save, the following error appears:
A biblioteca com o identificador Database está ausente. Talvez tenha sido excluída.
(The library with the identifier Database is missing. Maybe it has been excluded).
What can I do now?

You may refer with this post: Library with identifier XXXXXXX is missing (perhaps it was deleted?).
According to the release notes for November 4 2013, a fix for sporadic missing library errors has been rolled out. (Refer to Issue 2817.)
At the same time, a change was introduced such that "If a version of a library has been deleted by the library owner, scripts can no longer use that version." Previously, a script could have been using version 3 of a library, say, even after that version had been deleted. Suddenly, around November 4, that script would have begun failing. The fix in this case is to update the resources used by the script to refer to a still-existing version of the library.
Also as stated in this thread, it seems that there is a problem where sometimes libraries get out of sync. You may need to create new versions for the libraries even though these are in development mode.

Octave 7.1.0 opens with cryptic error/warning messages

I've just installed Octave 7.1.0 and I noticed a strange sequence of error/warning messages which I had never seen before nor am able to decipher:
2022-05-06T16:59:34.366ZE [6832:ShellIpcClient] message_loop.cc:133:Run Run called on MessageLoop that's already been Quit!
2022-05-06T16:59:34.368ZE [12660:ShellIpcClient] message_loop.cc:133:Run Run called on MessageLoop that's already been Quit!
2022-05-06T16:59:34.369ZE [8132:ShellIpcClient] message_loop.cc:133:Run Run called on MessageLoop that's already been Quit!
2022-05-06T16:59:34.371ZE [15212:ShellIpcClient] message_loop.cc:133:Run Run called on MessageLoop that's already been Quit!
Since I haven't had the time to test this new version (a mere 1/2 hour has passed since I installed it) I cannot tell whether or not Octave's functionality is compromised.
Any ideas?
Wherever this message comes from, it is not from Octave. Someone reported the same issue last year on Octave's forum at Strange opening messages when opening Octave each time which links to a similar issue on the Far Manager bug tracker. The Far Manager devs suggest that this comes from Google drive:
When you open a context menu, all registered shell extensions are loaded into the Far process. These extensions implement custom context menu items, shown by various software. Sometimes the authors of these extensions add various debug logging messages to their code to see what is going on in various situations. Sometimes these authors are too lazy to implement a proper logging and they just print stuff to the standard output stream, connected to a console. Windows Explorer doesn't have a console attached to it, so all these messages go into the void. Far, on the contrary, does have a permanently attached console - you're looking at it. Therefore, any debug stuff these lazy people print in their extensions ends up in that console.
It's quite sad, but there's nothing we can do about it.
Please search for that string ("Run Run called on MessageLoop that`s already been Quit") in your Program Files folder and, once found, report to the corresponding product owners. I suspect that in your case it's Google Drive.

Always include the latest version of custom Google Drive library

I'm trying to link a custom library to a document that will be copied and shared with many people. I want to have all documents link to the latest version of the library, so when I modify the library I don't have to access all the documents to change the link.
This is the scenario:
I created a simple single function library (e.g. library TestLib, function foo()), and saved a first version of it. Then I've created a SpreadSheet with a script that generates a user menu that calls function TestLib.foo(). I've linked version 1 of the library to the script. Now I want to make several copies of the document, one for each people who will need it. The problem is that these documents are linked to version 1 of the library. If I made a change to the library and create a version 2, I have to manually re-link all documents to the new version. That's gonna be lot of work...
Is there a way to have the script to always link to the latest version?
NOTE: the library project is shared in read-only mode (people won't collaborate with the code. They just call foo() from the menu when needed).
Thank!

I made a new test, trying to overtake the version "limitation" problem.
The idea is a little complicated, but promising. The spreadsheet calls a function in library LinkLib: this library will be saved in a single version and the source code will never modified. The library function simply calls a function on another library (MainLib), whom source code can change over time. Spreadsheet doesn't need to change the version of the linked library (there will never be new version of BaseLib source code), while BaseLib can change the version of MainLib linked if I made changes in MainLib's source code..
The problem is: changing the version of a linked resource is treated as a source code modification. So you need to save a new version of BaseLib to actually use an updated version of MainLib's function.
Hope this mess is somewhat clear...
It makes sense that the described version management behave like this. But damn, I'm still stuck with this problem...
this is possible but with a risk. simply use "development mode" for all documents using the library. whenever you update the library it will include the new code automatically.
the risks are that you will have to be careful to never save an intermediate/partial change as all changes need to not break anything. this can be tricky and is best to have a separate library copy to use when making and testing changes. once tested you may copy all files and "save all" together so the script doesnt have partial saves.
basically you lose the development facilities of using versions.
read more about library development mode in the official docs.

This package is superseded by one or more higher-ranked packages

I am trying to update my app in the windows store with a new version. I am getting the error message in the UI:
This package is superseded by one or more higher-ranked packages.
The version number of the new binary is higher than the existing one. Here is what the version numbers look like in the store UI:
How can I raise the rank of the new version so that the store accepts it? What are the elements to package rank? I searched online for this but could not find the answer.
Thanks.
A day after first having the problem, I submitted a package numbered 2.0.6, which I had tried yesterday, and it went right in.
I tried to delete the original submission as suggested above, before trying submitting 2.0.6, but couldn't find a delete button. Maybe by opening the older one up in the UI I made the UI realize it was older. dunno.

SignTool error while packaging Windows Store app

During packaging the Windows Store application, I get an unspecified error [APPX1204]:
C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v11.0\AppxPackage\Microsoft.AppXPackage.Targets(1139,9): error APPX1204: Failed to sign 'D:\Projects\VS2012\Stroik\Stroik\AppPackages\Stroik_1.0.0.11_AnyCPU_Test\Stroik_1.0.0.11_AnyCPU.appx'. SignTool Error: An unexpected internal error has occurred.
Build output refers to the part of a file generated by VS2012:
<SignAppxPackage AppxPackageToSign="#(FinalAppxPackageItem)"
CertificateThumbprint="$(PackageCertificateThumbprint)"
CertificateFile="$(PackageCertificateKeyFile)"
HashUri="$(_HashUri)"
EnableSigningChecks="$(EnableSigningChecks)"
>
<Output TaskParameter="ResolvedThumbprint" PropertyName="ResolvedThumbPrint"/>
<Output TaskParameter="AppxPackagePublicKeyFile" PropertyName="AppxPackagePublicKeyFile" />
</SignAppxPackage>
Yesterday packaging proceeded successfully. Today I added aditional logic to my app and changed some data in manifest. Since then I'm reciving presented error. I tried to regenerate Certificate in Packaging menu, delete Store/Temporary Keys (then regenerate), ... much more but nothing helps.
Now I have no idea how to handle it. Furthermore packaging a new project (as it is provided by vs2012) results in the same error.
Have you got any suggestions how to solve it.
If it helps anyone else, I was trying to make the build on a network share (virtualizing windows). Creating it on the Windows partition solved the issue.
I was developing on a Virtual Machine in VirtualBox and tryed to publish to the shared folder.
Change the output folder to a local folder on the virtual maschine solved it.
Granted this is older - see if you can try it with a different live id
You could also try to generate a new app, and diff the manifests between the apps.
Now according to:
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/toolsforwinapps/thread/f25939fb-c48c-4bd0-938e-6a0afbd2dca0/
you may want to sign out, use IE 'in safe private browsing' and create a new one.
Also ensure that IE is set in "Browsing History->Settings" to get a new version of the page every time.
Login with the new one and give it a try.
I'm not sure if this error is related here or not, but it's a starting point based on the prior feedback on the above post.
This japanese site lists the same error code and seems to have the same resolution as well

Its worth a shot, but I'll admit on this one not being 100% sure, just trying to help out : )

MySQL T4 Templates Error: Metadata file 'MySql.Data' could not be found

D:\Web\CityV2\App_Code\ActiveRecord.tt(0,0) : error CS0006: Compiling transformation: Metadata file 'MySql.Data' could not be found
Let me start by saying I'm using VWD 2008 Express.
These are the steps I've taken so far:
Created an entirely new project
Added references for Subsonic.Core.dll and MySql.Data.dll
Copied Active Record templates to project
Changed all <## include file="SQLServer.ttinclude" #> to <## include file="MySQL.ttinclude" #>
Copied the MySQL.ttinclude and Settings.ttinclude from the TemplateProviders folder
Updated Settings.ttinclude with my connectionstring and database information
Updated the Settings.ttinclude and created the external tool mapping as per ranomore's instructions
Attempted to build the code from the templates and received the error
I then realized that I didn't have MySql Connector "installed" on my dev box (even though I added a reference to the bin). So I proceeded to MySQL.com and downloaded the latest 6.0.4 connector msi and installed it (GAC). The error no longer appears, but neither does anything else: no new classes, no new errors, nothing [and yes, I refreshed the project after running the command ;-)].
Two things:
Am I missing a step somewhere?
Is there a way build the templates without needing MySQL installed to the GAC?
Unfortunately SubSonic 3 doesn't support VWD 2008 Express (or more specifically VWD doesn't support t4). There is a sort of workaround that ranomore came up with but it will require some work by you. See the following question for more details:
SubSonic ASP.NET MVC sample in Visual Web Developer Express
EDIT: I should have read your question properly you obviously already have the link above. Maybe worth your while downloading the trial of VS professional and seeing if you have more luck with that to see if it's worth outlaying the cash to buy it.
On a side note if you're looking to get an msdn subscription for free you should have a look into registering for the bizspark program
