I have followed the instructions, but the skin still doesn't get installed. What can I do? Thanks!

Add the line wfLoadSkin('vector'); to your LocalSettings.php file.

IntelliJ IDEA: Unable to download MySqlDriver

I am using IntelliJ IDEA,and I want to configure MySQL database from the IDE:
then fail:
The error is:
Failed to download 'http://download.jetbrains.com/idea/jdbc-drivers/mysql-connector-java-5.1.40-bin.jar
I don't know why connection will time out.
I can download other things such as plugins from jetbrains, but except jdbc-drivers.
I recommend taking a look in IDEA's log files to see if they may have additional details as to why the download is timing out. From the menu go to Help > Show log.
As a workaround, you can manually download the drivers and place them in the necessary location. Download bo the JAR and the mysql-connector-license.txt license file (from http://download.jetbrains.com/idea/jdbc-drivers/mysql-connector-license.txt of from MySQL directly). Place both files in the path {idea-config-dir}/jdbc-drivers/MySQL Connector/J/5.1.40 (modifying the version number if necessary). The location of the {idea-config-dir} can be looked up in the Directories used by the IDE to store settings, caches, plugins and logs help document. For example, c:\Users\Dilbert\.IntelliJIdea2017\config or ~/Library/Preferences/IntelliJIdea2017
Thus, in the end, that directory should have two files:
mysql-connector-java-5.1.40-bin.jar
mysql-connector-license.txt
put jars in
C:\Users\UUSER\AppData\Roaming\JetBrains\DataGrip2020.1\jdbc-drivers\PostgreSQL\42.2.5
from another install with internet
In 2019, The folder is this >>
C:\Users{YourUser}.DataGrip2019.3\config\jdbc-drivers\MySQL Connector\J 8\8.0.21
Download jar from
https://repo1.maven.org/maven2/mysql/mysql-connector-java/8.0.21/mysql-connector-java-8.0.21.jar

link to .exe gives 'You do not have permission to access this document' instead of downloading it

When trying to add a link to a downloadable .exe I encounter an error/notice:
'You do not have permission to access this document' instead of downloading it.
This is the anchor:
Here
Using this on .zip and .dmg work fine.
I've found something eslewere, suggestion to add exe|EXE and place this in the .htaccess:
Deny from all
<FilesMatch "\.(html|HTML|htm|HTM|xhtml|XHTML|js|JS|css|CSS|bmp|BMP|png|PNG|gif|GIF|jpg|JPG|jpeg|JPEG|ico|ICO|doc|DOC|docx|DOCX|txt|TXT|rtf|RTF|xls|XLS|xlsx|XLSX|csv|CSV|zip|ZIP|pdf|PDF|exe|EXE)$">
Allow from all
</FilesMatch>
This did not solve my problem, removing for example the PDF from this bit of code, did block the pdf download. But the other way around, adding the exe didn't enable the exe to be downloadable.
It is a WordPress install, but these downloads are not uploaded via WordPress, they are directly placed in the downloads folder.
Kind regards,
Martijn
After more searching, I found someone, posting a simular problem.
The suggested answer (settings with the hosting, not the actual code) there was not the solution.
But did set us on the right path.
Previously simular code was working, but on another server, with a different config.Current domain is done via the Plesk panel.
In the Plesk panel, under the Apache & nginx settings for the domain.
Checking the box: 'Serve static files directly by nginx' solved the issue for me.

Texture Packer won't run

I downloaded texture packer here https://code.google.com/p/libgdx-texturepacker-gui/downloads/detail?name=gdx-texturepacker-3.2.0.zip&can=2&q=
When I run the .jar file it just shuts down before even displaying the gui. Is anyone experiencing a similar problem? I am running OSX El Capitan.
The project is quite old so you can try it's successor: gdx-texture-packer-gui.
[The] project is a successor of Aurelien Ribon's project with whole new
GUI and features.
You can download the tool here:
https://github.com/crashinvaders/gdx-texture-packer-gui/releases
Do you have the Java runtime environment installed on your computer or just the Java development kit? I don't use the texture packer, but I had a similar problem with the Android SDK manager (it shut down before displaying the GUI) on a new computer where I had only installed the Java JDK. After installing the JRE then it worked fine.
Try this: Create a txt file and change its extension to ".bat". Right click to file and select modify. Copy this into file:
"java -jar "C:\Users\fat2019\Desktop\gdx-texturepacker-3.2.0\gdx-texturepacker.jar" Change path to your own where gdx-texturepacker.jar file is. Then save and close. Double click file.
edit: this is for windows.
I have the same problem. Using Windows 7 I have to do this:
Go to your java directory and copy your java path
C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_40\bin
Right click on my computer,
Click properties
Go to "Advanced system settings" click ,
Click on Environment variables.
Go to System variables section, and you will find an entry called path.
Double click on path
Add a semicolon (;) to the end of that line
After the semicolon paste your path previously copied: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_40\bin
Apply
It must be enough. Your file should run at this point.
Double click it and go to the end, put a semicolon and paste your path, apply and ok. It should run now.
For Mac I downloaded the free version of https://www.codeandweb.com/texturepacker/download
This saves as .txt rather than .atlas for some reason.
After adding the animation I got errors in batch.draw ... casting to TextureRegion fixed that.
As always, I have no idea if this will cause problems later but there you go. Looks good so far. :)

How to disable version control in phpstorm?

I am playing around with phpstorm and somehow I activated version control. I don't need it. Now all my tabs are different: orange text on gray background. All files in the file view are orange. How do I disable version control?
Go to Settings -> Version Control and remove the folder from which you would like to remove version control tracking (coloring tabs etc.) It will naturally not remove version control from your project (as in deleting the .git/ folder for instance).
The ultimate way is to disable all version control plugins (under Settings -> Plugins): CVS Integration, Git Integration, GitHub, hg4idea, Perforce Integration, Subversion Integration. After restarting PhpStorm Settings -> Version Control tab will be gone.
Note that this will disable version control for all of your projects.
You can just remove vcs.xml from .idea folder and then restart PhpStorm
In phpStorm 2022.1.3+, go to
Preferences > Version Control > Directory Mappings
Then remove the directories you don't want to watch, as Greg suggested.
Go to Settings -> Version Control and remove the folder from which you would liek to remove version control.
I have not enough reputation to +1 Greg's answer or comment, but... for those who are interrested : the same goes for Webstorm.
I had this problem and I used from 2 of notes in these answers in these page together.
As Greg has mentioned in one of replies, your git repository is in .git sub directory inside directory that you want to manage it with version control system. When you define a git repository, PhpStorm automatically generate it and with creating this sub directory, it adds a file for handling mapping between itself and version control system. It calls vcs.xml and it's located in .idea sub directory.
It's not enough to remove only .git directory. When you remove .git, you will get an error in PhpStorm every time that you open your project due to not matching vcs.xml for mapping between PhpStorm and git repository of your project. So after removing .git directory, you must also remove vcs.xml files from .idea and now you won't have any error or warning in your PhpStorm.
It doesn't need to restart PhpStorm at all and after this, colors of all of files that was mentioned in questions return to normal colors in PhpStorm.

Wordpress templates to HTMl + CSS

I have a wordpress template and in that there are many PHP files and CSS files. I just want to know how can i convert every php file into HTML file so that i can check them in the browser and i want to change wherever i feel necessary.
You need to render them with a machine that has PHP with Wordpress installed, and you could then save them as HTML from there.
The quickest way to do that would be to use EasyPHP or XAMPP (assuming that you are on Windows).
To follow up on what #Blowski said. Here is a useful article which will help you walk through the right steps to installing XAMPP on your machine. Using XAMPP For Local Theme Dev.
