I've been searching around and I can't find for the life of me where an extra div is being created... the only reason we care is that it's bringing a mid tone grey background color over the Nav bar and it's killing the look of our app.
Hoping for a bit of guidance, happy to post up any relevant code needed; nothing in home stands out (extra div shows up everywhere, so I'm guessing it's not in a single pages worth of css/html).
It might be worthwhile removing all classes from the navbar area, and then adding them back one by one and seeing which one/s cause the problem. Also check the Ionic documentation here to see if there's something else to check out.

I do a lot of work during the day and I program in quite a few languages so doing CSS work is a little tough because i don't specialize in it. I have run into an issue where wordpress no longer works for me so I have to do mysite on my own. can you guys point me to a web resource that will show me how to get a a look of a multi-level horiz. menu at the top of my homepage similar to the one found here?
https://www.cssscript.com/create-a-multi-level-drop-down-menu-with-pure-css/
I got that link from a similar thread here on S/O.
I copied all of the code there and put it in the appropriate CSS and HTML files, but I do not get the multi-leveledness. I only got a vertical menu on the left side without color. I'm a source coder, and generally automate things and I'm horrible at designing anything. I draw stick people and that's as far as my artistic talent goes. so CSS falls into that same boat. thanks!
If you really only got a vertical menu on the left side without color, that sounds like none of the CSS styles are actually taking effect. And since none of the elements have classes from what I can see, it sounds like your CSS isn't actually loading or being applied to the DOM. How have you included the CSS rules into your website? Before trying to use a different demo, try to get this specific one working by looking at your HTML structure and figuring out how to get the styles to grab onto the right elements...
So the title pretty much say's it all, In case anyone is interested I'm self thought so please don't be so hasty to say I did no research or put any effort into this because I've messed around with a lot of various things on this somewhat BS page and searched using Google Yahoo and Bing looking for a similar issue. Basically the table layout seems to to get like a default transparent overlay, I noticed its only directly on the table because the background images are clearly visible when scrolling past the top of the page and its visible in each table cell.
Like I said I've tried various things with no luck but if this is just some common newbie mistake please point me to some reading material or even a good book for web design as I could really use the know how and wouldn't mind learning something as apposed to shooting in the dark with random bits of HTML, CSS and JavaScript in the little free time I do have..
*Also I was doing all this using blogger as my "host" mainly because I plan to ingrate the blogger framework or whatever into the page after I know its good to go. Find a link to the page below, If you need the raw HTML not formatted to blogger just let me know.

Turns out the image host for the body background-image wasn't loading in the image on apple device's, still not sure why but after relocating the image to my personal Dropbox and directly linking to it that solved the problem. *As weird as that may sound the original url was http://subtlepatterns.com/patterns/binding_dark.png and simply replacing it with https://dl.dropbox.com/s/njcu65h90cmsbp8/binding_dark.png solved the problem. -Figured I should post the answer just in case someone ever has a similar issue.
I am having an extremely odd issue creating a template for my zencart ecommerce website.
I find that many times I load the website my menu will break up and split over two lines as shown below.
The reason I find this behavior odd is that if I refresh the page it correctly displays.
Now I could understand how to fix this if it was consistently one way or the other but it seems to vary between the two with no obvious difference in the code... I am not sure if this is some sort of technical bug with chrome as I haven't been able to replicate it in other browsers however even if it is I really need a way of working around it. So I am curious as to whether anyone has had this issue before and if so how they got around it.

Thanks Jason
If you add
white-space:nowrap;
To the div that contains the list it should prevent this, not sure why it's happening though.
Edit: here is a jsfiddle showing the technique http://jsfiddle.net/RM4S2/
Edit: No floats http://jsfiddle.net/BsGfu/2/
This is a really strange problem, and I was able to recreate the quirkiness in Chrome. While I don't know the direct cause of the issue, I think I found one way that works.
If you set the width of the second div within 'navEZpagesTop' that you are floating right that is wrapping,to 'width:485px;'. This seems to give the section room and does not wrap. If you want to leave more room for this expand without modifying the css you could set it to a much larger size, and float all the links inside of this to the right(instead of the left).
I´ve recently started to program all my layouts in tableless CSS, but still prefering the old tables style. Much faster. Anyway, I´m stuck in this layout that is almoust finished, but I need help to one minor detais, which I can´t manage to fix.
Here is the test address:
http://www.syncsystem.com.br/
As you can see, the design and background are almoust complete. Later I´m gonna put the rest of the stuff in, like links and so on. The problem is at the bottom. The ideia behind this is that the background texture stay fixed, as is is. But there´s a white space at the bottom which I can´t get rid of...can anyone help or give a hint?
Thanks,
I'm not sure if that's what you are talking about, but the footer's background image itself has some space in it below the black part.
And the footer has the same height as it's background image, so the whole image is being shown.
Next time use some web development tool such as Firebug, or use a native one pressing F12 in Firefox or Chrome. It will help you quickly analyze the page element's properties
I have recently taken control of a large website. My problem is that sometimes, on some browsers/ computers, when you navigate between pages (or hit refresh) the entire content loads slightly to the right, then half a second later, jumps back to the left where it should be. The distance is only around 5mm, over the course of a second, but it is noticeable.
Things that are useful to know:
It is a wordpress site, but has only basic functions- The menu contains jQuery but there's little other javascript to prevent loading.
All content is wrapped within a container that is centred using
{margin: 0 auto;}
There are several CSS style sheets, and some major tags such as the container have been defined several times- i even found a discrepancy between the width between two of these, but when fixed everything still jumps.
There are no images on the side that are causing it to jump by being slow to load.
The content only jumps if the content is greater than the screen height- that is, it goes off screen.
Content will jump with my old computer, but will not jump with my new computer, on the same network and connection.
On an older computer content will jump with IE 10, but not when you put IE10 into compatibility mode.
I'm afraid that i don't have the permission to put a link to the website, so i've tried to put everything i know about it here. I know that makes it more difficult, but any pointers to put me in the right direction will help a lot!
Update!
The scroll bars were the problem- I used the answer from this thread: Making the main scrollbar always visible
and all jumping has stopped!
You should simplify the problem removing 'things' until you isolate it.
If you don't have a preproduction or development environment to test make a copy of the page where the problem still exists. Then start removing things. If any div needs some content so the layout is stable replace anything dynamic or complex with simple text or images.
If the problem seems fixed removing something don't think you got it, undo what you just did so it still fails and keep on removing parts or functions that definitely have nothing to do with the problem.
When you have a minimal example that is still failing it will be much easier to figure out what the problem is or if not post the example here so we can help.
