MySQL Installer not launching on Windows 7 - mysql

I cannot install MySQL on Windows 7, neither the web version, nor the offline version.
Whenever I run the installer all it says is "Please wait while windows configures MySQL installer - comunity" and it closes and nothing happens.
I don't know what happens, if I run the installer on Windows 10 it works perfectly.

I ended up running CMD as Administrator and ran the installer from there and it worked.

if you are using Web community edition, try with the offline version and install it. In case of issue persist after download disconnect your internet. it should work.
I had to uninstall the previously installed versions. I had some kind of network problem so when I installed it for the first time, the installation wasn't complete. And I tried to install it again.

"No compatible server found" error came while installing mysql in windows 7

when i click on reconfigure it gives following screen
I'm trying to install mysql in windows 7 and I have downloaded mysql installer from https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/installer/
I started installing it but after some time it gives the following error:
no compatible server found.
I searched a lot for this, however I'm not able to install mysql on my system. Please give me some suggestions.
Is there any other software that has dependency to install mysql?
when i click on add it gives following screen
download and install Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable. it worked for me
I too had the same issue. What i did was,
1- uninstall the msi community installer.
2- Install visual c++ 2019 Redistributer package (https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads) ([])
3- Now install MySql Workbench from (https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/workbench/)
NOTE: Download the Windows (x86, 64-bit), MSI Installer 8.0.20 35.6M
Download.
4- Now install the msi community installer that you've uninstalled in step 1
(Link:https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/windows/installer/8.0.html)
NOTE: Windows (x86, 32-bit), MSI Installer 8.0.20 420.6M
Download [For both 64 & 32 bit ] - (mysql-installer-community-8.0.20.0.msi)
Now the workbench will be added. Add the server from the installer and now we are good to go...
Thanks for the opportunity and knowledge
This error may be resolved by installing appropriate visual C++ version. for 5.7 its VC++ 2013 and for 8.0 its VC++ 2015.
After VC++ install rerun the installation and reinstall just server seperate. Configure it.
Then install any other tools like client etc,
(server installs with command line (Which was enough for my needs)
Steps:
Install MySQL Server from "MySQL Installer - Community" (already installed in your system.
While installing you would be asked to setup a server, so, just leave everything as it is and just put up a password and click next.
No after installation again you will see "MySQL Installer - Community". Then click "reconfigure" right in front of (see image in link below).
Then you will see the server in options. Just click it and enter password. (NOTE: let the username be "root", don't change it).
After doing all this MySQL will be installed.

Unable to unistall mysql installer

I had some issues while installing MySQL the first time and it threw up some errors. When I tried to uninstall and reinstall I am unable to uninstall the MySQL Installer. Is there anything I can do to rectify this?
OS : Windows 7 (32 BIT)
I know this answer is a bit too late, but I've encountered the same problem, so I hope it could help others.
Steps:
Find the version of installed MySQL installer (I could not find specific version, so I used the installation date and downloaded the corresponding version in MySQL archived downloads page) and download it.
Run it and choose to uninstall all the components. The installer itself will still be installed.
Right click on the downloaded installation file (i.e. mysql-installer-web-community-5.7.17.0.msi) and choose "Uninstall".
did you try to uninstall MySQL Installer in Safe Mode?
If you don't know how to boot in Safe Mode follow these steps :
1- Start your computer
2- Press on the F8 key during all the time on booting
3- Safe Mode menu will appear and chose Safe Mode...
Then, go in your Control panel of windows and try to uninstall MySQL.
I think the problem is because MySQL is starting automatically when you log into windows. So, MySQL service is always running and when a service is running you can't uninstall it..
Hope it's help,
Dave

"Unauthorized operation" error when installing Express Edition

Microsoft Outlook 2010 with Business Contact Manager worked on my Vista laptop but, laptop died. Now, have Windows 7 Ultimate x64 tower since November. Loaded Office 2010 x86 just fine but, trying to install BCM, failed to install SQL Server Express.
So, now I can't get SQL Server 2008 to install; the Engine, that is, all supporting files install fine. I read that if you can install SQL Server 2008 with the ID=MSSMLBIZ, BCM will pass over the server install, and continue with install. I read that the issue may be SQL Server x86 on Win 7 x64. So, I tried SQL Server x64. Every time I get an Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation.
Install always fails at step SqlBrowserConfigAction_install_ConfigNonRC_Cpu32. So, ran as Admin, from Admin log-in, from the root directory in the Admin log-in, changing permissions on the Security Registry KEY, turned off firewall, all suggestions still failed.
Coincidentally, I have an Update for Windows 7 for x64-based systems (KB2732487) that has failed to install, as well.
I think your Windows 7 is not proper installed, perhaps while installing Windows Updates.
But as for the
SqlBrowserConfigAction_install_ConfigNonRC_Cpu32
I dont understand: ConfigNonRC , in Microsoft terms stands the RC for Release Candidate.
If i was you i should try this:
Open CMD as Admin
Typ: "sfc /scannow"
When that's ready your pc may restart.
Now at CMD typ: "sfc /verifyonly"
If it shows any errors, try "sfc /scannow" again.
If it does not show any errors, try to install Windows Updates. All of them.
If this works, delete all existing SQL apps. And install the Core first.
If the updates can't install, You can try to re-install Windows 7 what i basically should not do and just use MySQL. A lot faster & reliable these days.
I hope this will fix your problems!
