I am trying to get my webpage to be responsive. It is a 3 column layout, and every time I check it in a mobile and tablet emulator it just looks horrible. I am new to html5 so I am not sure what I am doing and I have been trying to figure this out for a while now and have come to a brick wall. Any suggestions would be amazing!

I'm having trouble getting my grid to display the way i want and i can't see what i've done wrong. Please take a look at this for me.
It was displaying correctly when i was using background-image url() in css but i needed to use image tags because they need to be hyperlinks and i'm pretty sure this was the only way. When i use img tags the pictures were now displaying in their full size and i couldnt get them back to the right scale. and when i wrapped them in anchor tags they stopped displaying in the correct order.
Here's my code

, it too stopped working. I found a pdf of how to build computers for dummies on my phone and used what i had
learned to combine the two PC's parts into one case, and it worked. I had always been interested in technology
but this is where my love for understanding computers and how they work. Once you learn about different types
of hardware theres not many places to go. ie networking, coding, etc. fortunately for me, the depth of the
limited options are vast, so there is alot left for me to learn and I never want my journey to end.</p>

Flexbox: center horizontally and vertically
(14 answers)
Closed 2 years ago.
For my webpage, I want three inline images, with my logo below and a horizontal menu below and that is it, but it won't let me center it all. Can anyone help me? Here's my code:
* {
box-sizing: border-box;
}
.all {
text-align: center;
background: gray;
}
.row {
display: flex;
text-align: center;
}
.column {
flex: 33.3%;
padding: 5px;
max-width: 320px;
filter: brightness(60%);
}
.column:hover {
filter: brightness(100%);
}
ul {
list-style-type: none;
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
overflow: hidden;
}
li {
float: left;
}
li a {
display: block;
color: black;
text-align: center;
padding: 14px 16px;
text-decoration: none;
}
li a:hover {
color: gray;
}
<html>
<head>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css.css">
</head>
<body>
<div class="all">
<div class="row">
<div class="column">
<img src="images/hs.jpg" alt="Suisse" style="width:100%">
</div>
<div class="column">
<img src="images/pp.jpg" alt="Plaza" style="width:100%">
</div>
<div class="column">
<img src="images/pa.jpg" alt="Apart" style="width:100%">
</div>
</div>
<div class="logo">
<img src="images/logo.jpg" alt="logor">
</div>
<div class="menu">
<ul>
<li>Home</li>
<li>News</li>
<li>Formations</li>
<li>Revue de Presse</li>
</ul>
</div>
</div>
</body>
</html>
Just to reiterate, what I'm trying to do is have on the top center three images that are aligned (each image is 320px).
Below, trying to have my logo.
And right below it, a small menu.
Nothing to fancy, really. Thanks for the read.
Simply add justify-content:center; to the .row class. See my example below of it working
* {
box-sizing: border-box;
}
.all {
text-align: center;
background: gray;
}
.row {
display: flex;
text-align: center;
justify-content:center;
}
.column {
flex: 33.3%;
padding: 5px;
max-width: 320px;
filter: brightness(60%);
}
.column:hover {
filter: brightness(100%);
}
ul {
list-style-type: none;
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
overflow: hidden;
justify-content:center;
display: flex;
}
li {
float: left;
}
li a {
display: block;
color: black;
text-align: center;
padding: 14px 16px;
text-decoration: none;
}
li a:hover {
color: gray;
}
<html>

I change a few lines from your css code:
Removed max-width property from column class.
Removed display: block; from li a class.
Modified ul and li styles with custom id="horizontal-list".

Hope this helps you.
With out bootstrap the nav bar works perfectly fine, but when I activate bootstrap the nav bar gets buggy.
Here is how it should look:
Here is how it looks with bootstrap:
I think there is something that needs an !important added to it, but I'm not sure what so please can someone with experience tell me which one?
I tried inline-flex as well but still no hope
I tried !important with the width but still doesn't work
I tried height: 0%!important; and still nothing work
I need to use bootstrap to have the table with bootstrap design so removing bootstrap is no option.
ok so I'm not sure if there's another problem like this but can't seem to find an answer so here is my code:

edit:
the answer is you need to do a bootstrap nav_bar
the good thing if you search in the answers bellow you find my accepted answer as a good navbar
The issue is with your structure as bootstrap have its own nav structure so you need to follow that.
I just change the nav with the bootstrap nav and added you links

<a>'s default display is inline. transform cannot be applied unless display is reset to value which allow sizing. (or formatting context). You can reset it to inline-block.

Note: I turned the three id="a" into class="a"
I would like to center the text on my homepage vertical in the middel of the page. Right now i tried to do this with a percentage, but this isn't the right way because when i open the webpage on my phone or an ipad the text doesn't center. Does anyone know how i can center it the right way?

display offers you 2 options : the table layout or the flex model ( both will push footer down if content grows)
test snippets in full page mode and resize window
1) display:table/table-row/table-cell (should include IE8 and older browsers CSS 2.1)
#charset "UTF-8";
/* CSS Document */
body {
background: white;
}
html,

#wrapper {

background: #000000;
}
li {
display: block;
float: left;
margin-left: 10px;

margin-right: 10px;
}

font-family: 'Open Sans Condensed';
}
li:hover {
border-bottom: 1px solid white;
padding-bottom: 0px;
}
.home {
margin-left: 30px;
}
.contact {
float: right;
margin-right: 30px;
}
/*content*/
#content {
flex:1;/* take as much space avalaible */
justify-content:center;/* because it is display:flex too, you can horizontally center its contents */
align-items:center;/* because it is display:flex too, you can vertically center its contents */
}
/* homepage */
.anouk {
font-family: 'Oswald';
color: #000000;
font-size: 80px;
text-align: center;
}
/* footer */
#footer {
background: #000000;
height: 80px;
text-align:center;
}
.icoontjes {
margin-top: 15px;
margin-left: 10px;
margin-right: 10px;

}
.icoontjes:hover {
opacity: 0.8;

<!doctype html>

<div id="content">

<div id="footer">
<a href="mailto:#">

<a href="#" target="_blank">
<img class="#" src="icoontjes/facebook.png" alt="facebook">

<a href="#" target="_blank">
<img class="icoontjes" src="icoontjes/instagram.png" alt="instagram">

</div>
</div>
</body>
</html>
add overflow:auto to #content and it will show a scrollbar if needed , so footer is not pushed down.
Try adding this CSS to the text you want centered:
.your_centered_element {
position: absolute;
top:50%;
left: 50%;
transform: translateX(-50%) translateY(-50%);
}
This will keep the element centered.
Read about the transform: translateX(-50%) translateY(-50%); in the MDN docs
Hope this helps!
One solution here is to use viewport-width and viewport-height units:
.anouk {
position: absolute;
top: 0;
left: 0;
width: 100vw;
line-height: 100vh;
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
text-align: center;
}
for centering the text you have to use **margin auto**
css file--
* {
border: 1px dashed black;
}
div >p {
height: 50px;
width: 100px;
border: 2px solid black;
border-radius: 5px;
background-color: #FFD700;
margin: auto;
}
html code
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<link type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" href="stylesheet3.css"/>
<title>Result</title>
</head>
<body>
<div><p >
Anouk Den Haag
</p></div>
</body>
</html>
