Footer Displaying on top of content even with positions set - html

I cannot for the life of me
figure out why my footer is showing up in the middle of my webpage. I have my #content div set to have a height of 100% and have given it a relative position; and I even added an absolute position to my footer with bottom: 0;. What am I missing? I can't figure out what is causing it to not follow the normal flow of elements in the page!
I've checked several posts with this same problem, but the suggestion is almost always what I've tried above. I did try getting rid of the position for #content and the footer and instead setting display: inline-block; for both (was suggested in another post), and that didn't do anything.

</footer><!-- #colophon -->
</div><!-- .site-content-contain -->
</div><!-- #page -->
And here's my relevant CSS
html, body {
height: 100%;
}
.consumer-page {
min-width: 100%;
margin: 0 auto;
position: absolute;
left: 0;
top: 0;
}
#content {
position: relative;
height: 100%;
min-height: 100%;
}
footer#colophon {
position: absolute;
bottom: 0;
}

Your main problem is that .consumer-page is getting a position:absolute and its messing with your elements heights
Lets try the next classes:
.consumer-page {
min-width: 100%;
margin: 0 auto;
position: initial;
left: 0;
top: 0;
}
.wrap {
padding: 0;
width: 100vw;
max-width: 100vw;
margin: 0;
}
#content {
padding: 0;
}
footer#colophon {
position: initial;
bottom: 0;
}
Hope this helps. If you run into problems, pliss coment on this answer and will happily edit

Sticky footer is not so sticky

I have a site with a sticky footer, which is not so sticky and I am having a hard time figuring it out.
This is the html part: html.tpl.php
<?php
?>
<!DOCTYPE html>
<head>
<?php $head; ?>
<title><?php print $head_title='Vit | Kringvarp Føroya'; ?></title>
<?php if ($default_mobile_metatags): ?>
<?php endif; ?>
<meta http-equiv="cleartype" content="on">
<?php print $styles; ?>
<?php print $scripts; ?>
<?php if ($add_html5_shim and !$add_respond_js): ?>
<?php elseif ($add_html5_shim and $add_respond_js): ?>
<?php elseif ($add_respond_js): ?>
<?php endif; ?>
</head>
<body class="<?php print $classes; ?>" <?php print $attributes;?>>
<div class="container">
<?php if ($skip_link_text && $skip_link_anchor): ?>
<p id="skip-link">
<a href="#<?php print $skip_link_anchor; ?>" class="element-invisible
element-focusable"><?php print $skip_link_text; ?></a>
</p>
<?php endif; ?>
<?php print $page; ?>
</div>
<?php print $page_footer; ?>
</body>
<?php print $page_bottom; ?>
</div>
</html>
And page.tpl.php part
<div id="navigation">
<?php print render($page['navigation']); ?>
</div>
<header class="header" id="header" role="banner">
<?php $front_page='http://kvf.fo/vit';
if ($logo): ?>
<a href="<?php print $front_page; ?>" title="<?php print
t('Heim'); ?>"
rel="home" class="header__logo" id="logo"><img src="<?php print
$logo; ?
>" alt="<?php print t('Heim'); ?>" class="header__logo-image" />
</a>
<?php endif; ?>
<?php if ($site_name || $site_slogan): ?>
<div class="header__name-and-slogan" id="name-and-slogan">
<?php if ($site_name): ?>
<h1 class="header__site-name" id="site-name">
<a href="<?php print $front_page; ?>" title="<?php print t('Heim');
?>" class="header__site-link" rel="home"><span><?php print
$site_name; ?></span></a>
</h1>
<?php endif; ?>
<?php if ($site_slogan): ?>
<div class="header__site-slogan" id="site-slogan"><?php print
$site_slogan; ?></div>
<?php endif; ?>
</div>
<?php endif; ?>
<?php print render($page['header']); ?>
</header>
<div id="main">
<?php print render($page['content']); ?>
</div>
<?php print render($page['footer']); ?>
<?php print render($page['bottom']); ?>
The css part.
html {
position: relative;
min-height: 100%;
}
body {
height: 100%;
}
.container {
margin: 0 0 125px;
}
#footer {
position: absolute;
left: 0;
bottom: 0;
height: 100px;
width: 100%;
}
The page adress is www.kvf.fo/vit , and it seems to be working ok, but on an Ipad, the footer "sinks" halfway under the bottom of the screen, which is a bummer because the main users to the site, are Ipad users :/
Any help is much obliged!
If you want your footer to be sticky so add this property in its css
footer {
position: fixed;
}
It seems you're closing the body tag to early:
</div>
<?php print $page_footer; ?>
</body>
<?php print $page_bottom; ?>
</div>

Centre a doubleclick ad

I'm not sure how to centre a doubleclick ad horizontally. After reading this similar question Centre align leaderboard ad, I'm using this code now
<div class="center">

</script></div>

If you put your css on the page instead of linking to an external css file you should be putting it inside the <head></head> tags. Your document should look something like this:
<html>
<head>
<style type="text/css">
.center {
text-align: center;
margin: 0 auto;
}
</style>
</head>
<body>
<div class="center">AD CODE</div>
</body>
</html>
you can also use inline styling (which I would not recommend) if you wanted the styles near the div like your example:
<div style="text-align: center; margin: 0 auto;">AD CODE</div>
UPDATE
This is being pulled in from an iframe. What you need to do is find the id that I have pointed out in the below image:
Which is this:
<div id='div-gpt-ad-1419519536676-0' style='width:728px; height:90px;'>
and add margin: auto to it, like so:
<div id='div-gpt-ad-1419519536676-0' style='width:728px; height:90px; margin: auto;'>
That should center your image
div and style tags must be replaced.
<html>
<head>
<style type="text/css">
.center {
text-align: center;
margin: 0 auto;
}
</style>
</head>
<body>
<div class="center">
AD CODE
</div>
</body>

Separate and re-position an element?

I added the text "MENY" next to toggle (nav-trigger). However I don't like the positioning of >MENY<, formatting/style is alright but the text needs to be more in the middle in relation to the toggle icon. They're stuck together as it is now. How do I separate them so I can adjust (raise(lower)) the text "MENY"? I keep messing it up so any guidance is much appreciated!!

Nested div ids - Having trouble with styling

I am trying to style a div that is nested in some ofter divs and having some trouble. Below is the code and css I am attempting to use. If you could show me the correct css tag to style the element called #cleanse I would appreciate it.
<!-- Header starts here -->
<header id="header">
<div class="align">
<!-- Logo start here -->
<div id="logo">
<?php if(get_option( 'ms_plain_logo')=="true" ) { ?>
<h1><a class="text_logo" href="<?php echo home_url( '/' ); ?>" data-rel="home"><?php echo get_bloginfo('name'); ?></a></h1>
<?php } else { ?>
<h1><a class="img_logo" href="<?php echo home_url( '/' ); ?>" data-rel="home"></a></h1>
<?php } ?>
</div>
<!-- Logo ends here -->
<!-- Navbar -->
<?php $args=array(
'theme_location'=>'primary-navigation',
'container' => 'nav',
'container_id' => 'navigation-wrapper',
'menu_id' => 'navigation',
'fallback_cb' => false
); ?>
<?php wp_nav_menu($args); ?>
<?php if(!has_nav_menu( 'primary-navigation')) { ?>
<nav id="navigation-wrapper">
<ul id="navigation">
<?php wp_list_pages( 'title_li=&sort_column=menu_order'); ?>
</ul>
</nav>
<?php } ?>
<!-- Navbar ends here -->
<div id="cleanse">
<a href="link" target="_blank">
<img src="img"/></a>
</div>
</div>
</header>
<!-- Header ends here -->
#cleanse { top: 55px; }
What do want to do? Add a margin-top or something?
This only works with position:
#cleanse { top: 55px; }
Try this:
#cleanse { margin-top: 55px; }
Also the css should be placed in the header:
<style>
/* your rules here */
</style>

Issue with height for outside container/content images

Hi I'm modifying a Wordpress theme and I'm having some trouble positioning the outside container images that provide the border for the middle section of content. The problem is that the background images are not extending with the content, instead it stops at the bottom of the browser screen. The site is located here: http://www.richmindonline.com/test
I've never structured background images in this way before, so I apologize for my being naive to this issue.
Here's the CSS id's for the background image structure:
#main {border:1px solid blue; width:900px; display:block; margin:0px auto;}
#container {
width: 600px;
float:left;
border:0px solid red;
}
#content-before {
border:0px solid yellow;
content:"";
position:absolute;
display:block;
top:150px;
left:185px;
bottom:0px;
width:20px;
height:auto;
background:url('/test/wp-content/themes/basic/assets/images/main-boxed-light.png') 0px 0px repeat-y;
}
#content {
width:590px;
border:0px solid green;
}
#primary {
float:right;
overflow: hidden;
width: 250px;
border:1px solid brown;
}
#content-after {
border:0px solid yellow;
content:"";
float:left;
position:absolute;
display:block;
top:150px;
left:1145px;
bottom:0px;
width:20px;
height:auto;
background:url('/test/wp-content/themes/basic/assets/images/main-boxed-light.png') -20px 0px repeat-y;
}
#footer {
clear: both;
width: 100%;
}
Here is my index.php HTML div structure:
