I added filter into row group like:
But for some reason it hides values more than 0, so in report I show separate values and then sum of all but for some reason filter hides that columns for example:
it will throw more registers to complete 11 (when I remove filter) I can show them. What am I doing wrong?
Expression: =iif(IsNothing(Fields!nPeriodo.Value > CINT(replace(left(Split(Parameters!DimTiempoMes.Value,"[").GetValue(3),2),"]",""))),0 ,Sum(Fields!PPMS_PPM.Value))
I solve it. Just added a Sum to Filter expression like:
=Sum([PPMS_PPM])

Can someone please help me write a custom code that will check if the details of the row group = nothing? I'd like to use this as a show/hide expression such that table 0 will not display if there are no records within the group.
I can't seem to use aggregations for the row group details at the row group level.
Edit:
example 1 with a detail row
example 2 with without a detail row but the group header still displays. I'd like to hide this group completely:
OK, so it looks like you want to hide a table, not just a group within a table.
If this is not correct , please post your full report design.
You should be able to just count the rows in the dataset that the table is bound to.
So if your table is bound to `DataSet`` the 'Hidden' property would just be
=COUNTROWS("DataSet1") = 0
"DataSet1" is the name of the dataset, it is case sensitive and must be enclosed in double quotes.
The table will be hidden but the space it consumes will not be used, in other words, you will have a blank space where the table should be.
Alternatively, you can set the NoRowsMessage property to simple text message or an expression which will be displayed instead of just hiding the table.
I ended up using an IIF(IsNothing(Fields!MyField.Value), Parameters!ShowMissingGroup.Value,False) for the row group expression visibility then using a parameter to hide/show it.
I am facing problem in SSRS report for showing sequense numbers as given in image.
when I searched for this issue I got solution as -- RowNumber("DataSetName")
but problem with this is, it generate numbers like 1,2,3..., but I want these numbers in following forms- 1.1, 1.2 or 1.1.1, 1.2.1.
And another problem for me is above function will work if I am having multiple rows in dataset and that dataset is bind with table to show its data, but In my case I am getting all data in single row and out of that I am showing values in textbox using expressions and if that value is empty I am hiding that textbox.
so I am not getting any solution to show sequence number in textbox along with text and how I can rearrenge that numbers if my inbetween textbox is hidden because of no data.
Please provide me solution for above probem.
Image for reference -
Example of data is :
From above table values from "Subheading1" And "Subheading2" will show inside "Heading first" and "Subheading3" And "Subheading4" will show inside "Heading second".
You can concatenate row numbers as strings as follows:
=RowNumber("HEADING") & "." & RowNumber("SUBHEADING")
To ensure numbers are consecutive remove the relevant rows in the source dataset instead of hiding them in the tablix.
In footer I have 2 textboxes named curTotal and sub_total.
In header I have third textbox named result.
What I want to do is to subtract values of footer: result = sub_total - curTotal;
curTotal expression is (=sum(reportitems!lineamount1.value))
and
sub_total expression is (=Last(ReportItems!runningTotal.Value))
"runningTotal" is a field in tablix which has expression (=RunningValue(Fields!LineAmount.Value, SUM, "SalesInvoiceDS"))
I have tried to add to result expression following (=reportitems!sub_total.value - reportitems!curTotal.value) but it gives error that textbox refers to several report elements.
Please guide me how to correctly perform Math functions like subtract, multiple, division etc... with textBoxes in footer / header.
Unfortunately you cannot perform operations that combine ReportItems. Therefore the mathematics needs to take place at the appropriate row level using values derived from the data source and the results held in hidden fields at this level that can then be referred to using ReportItems.
So one approach would be to add a dummy outer grouping level to your report with a footer that you use to calculate these values. This footer line can be hidden and used as a source of ReportItems for your footer and possibly your header.

i have been trying to hide/show columns within my tablix based on multi value parameter , but whenever i am plugging in the expression in the column visibility properties it is not showing what i select from the parameter and hide what is not select.
Here is the expression:
=IIF(InStr(JOIN(Parameters!parameter.Value,", "),"value"),false,true)
any help???
If I understand correctly, you want to show the column if you select a value which contains "value". Right?
So the expression should be like below:
=IIF(InStr(JOIN(Parameters!parameter.Value,","),"value")>0,false,true)
I always get this wrong too. I think backwards. It is actually asking for the expression that will hide the column. SO Black_T is correct with his answer.
=IIF(InStr(JOIN(Parameters!Parameter.Value,","),"value")>0,false, true)
so whenever the expression picks up that value in the statement, it will return false, meaning that it should not hide it, and whenever it doesn't find it, well the returned product will also hide it! pretty ingenious!
Thanks and enjoy!
=IIF(InStr(JOIN(Parameters!parameter.Value,","),"value")>0,true,false)
I have a report that has 3 parameters: RaceDate, RaceCourse, SilksColours. The SilksColours parameter is optional.
If the SilksColours parameter is selected I want to highlight the row in my report with the colour yellow, while all the other rows stay white.
Is this possible?
For each TextBox in the row you want to highlight, you need need to set the Background Color property to be expression-based and compare the parameter value to value in the row, something like:
=IIf(Fields!Colour.Value = Parameters!SilksColours.Value, "Yellow", "White")
Edit after comments:
OK, as you've noted there are two questions here.
Parameter with default
You have a requirement to have a multi-value parameter with the ability to specify no value in particular. You can't set up a multi-value to accept NULL values, so you need to add a catch all value to the DataSet. So base the parameter on values similar to the following:
Set a parameter up to use this DataSet and set the Default Value to None:
Now we have a parameter with a default, which will not highlight any rows, so users can just ignore if they want or choose values as required.
There is one minor annoyance here - the user can select None and other values as well, they aren't mutually exclusive, but it should be good enough.
Highlighting rows
Next step is to set the Background Color values for all required TextBoxes. Since multiple colours can be selected, we need to treat multi-value parameters differently from single ones, something like:
=IIf(InStr(Join(Parameters!Colour.Value, ","), Fields!Colour.Value) > 0
, "Yellow"
, "White")
So what we need to do is use the JOIN function to create a string list of selected values, then check if the row value is anywhere in that list. Put it all together to get the following:
The report will load straight away as the parameter has a default value, with no rows highlighted:
Choose one colour and the row is highlighted:
Choose multiple colours to highlight multiple rows:
Hopefully all this is what you're after!
