is there any oportnunity to use a Vaadin Button in a HTML script?
Id like to use the following button
Button button_login = ew Button();
button_login.setID("buttonlogin");
and this button should be implement in the following script
<div data-location="buttonlogin"></div>
(Only an idea)
Have so. an idea to bind the button in the html script?
Thank!
I am quite unsure what you mean by html script. If it is something you can achieve using JavaScript then here is my try.
Generally to execute JavaScript on button click
Button js = new Button("Do JavaScript");
js.addClickListener( click -> {
com.vaadin.ui.JavaScript.getCurrent().execute("alert(´Hello´)");
});
When in need to use external .js files, for example hello.js, contents below
function hello() {
alert("Hello JavaScriptWorld!");
}
Assuming hello.js is directly under /VAADIN/ directory, add following annotation to your UI or relevant component class
#JavaScript({"vaadin://hello.js"}) // all paths must be relative to /VAADIN
Then in ClickListener you can refer to function hello() like
com.vaadin.ui.JavaScript.getCurrent().execute("hello()");
Java
#com.vaadin.annotations.JavaScript("vaadin://themes/paastheme/layouts/ui/donut/donut.js")
public class BrowsePeopleUI extends UI {}
I put JS file to:
src/main/resources/VAADIN/themes/paastheme/layouts/ui/donut/donut.js
My donut.js is:
Javascript
var util = util || {};
util.donut = () => {console.log(document.querySelectorAll("[data-svg]"))};

I'm using Angular 10, on click the following function is executed to preform direction change:
private changeHtmlDirection(direction: 'rtl' | 'ltr') {
document.getElementsByTagName("html")[0].dir = direction;
}
It works well, only that the Angular CDK does not update.
I tried to find an API to change Angular CDK's direction at runtime, but couldn't find any.
I saw that there's a BidiModule but it uses only to get the current direction rather than set it.
Is there any solution?
According to the material documentation, you can't change 'dir' on the "html" tag so that affects bidi API. You can see the document at the following link:
bi-directionality document
But if you want to use material bi-directionality you can add the 'dir' directive to a container element in the root component like bellow:
<div [dir]="documentDirection"> </div>
and whenever the 'documentDirection' variable changes, the bidi "change emitter" will be emit.
like following code you can subscribe to it:
constructor(
private dir: Directionality ) {
this.isRtl = dir.value === 'rtl';
this.dir.change.subscribe(() => {
this.isRtl = !this.isRtl;
});
}
On the html for my page I have a <script id="pagedata"></script> element which I would like to add an element to only if a certain partial is rendered. In my layout.cshtml I have the following:
#if (Brand != null)
{
#Html.Partial("_UseApp");
}
And in my _UseApp.cshtml:
#{
var iosAppUrl = // retrieve iosLink from our CRM database
var androidUrl = // retrieve android link from our CRM database
// Here I want to add the above variables to the <script id=pagedata> in the html page. Something
like this:
PageData.AddPageData("appstore", iosAppUrl);
PageData.AddPageData("playstore", androidUrl);
I cannot work out how to do this - I set breakpoints in the UseApp.cshtml file and the file is being called, but I don't know how to add these script elements. I don't want to just add them into the layout file because I want to keep the app logic separate. Can anyone help? Thanks
My approach to this would be to use jQuery, as reading HTML elements in C# is rather difficult.
In the script below, it checks if the HTML exists, and if it does, we will assign an attribute to it. The second argument in attr() will be your link, note that you can use C# to get the value from your Db, by using the model or ViewBag.
#section Scripts{
<script>
$(document).ready(function () { // on ready
if ($("#replaceWithYourId").length) { // check if ID exists
$("#pagedata").attr("data-playstore", "link") // use jQuery attr method.
}
});
</script>
}
My function isn't called when I click the <a... tag.
I have the following code in my component:
public htmlstr: string;
public idUser:number;
this.idUser = 1;
this.htmlstr = `<a (click)="delete(idUser)">${idUser}</a>`;
public delete(idUser){
alert("id " + idUser);
}
My html
<div [innerHTML]="htmlstr"></div>
but the function delete isn't called and does not show the alert.
The <div... is created dynamically
If anyone face same issue and above all answer not working then try my trick :
In HTML :
<button onclick="Window.myComponent.test()"> test </button>
In component :
class
constructor(){
Window["myComponent"] = this;
}
test(){
console.log("testing");
}
Your main issue here, on-top of the things pointed out by #Matt Clyde and #Marciej21592, is that you're trying to dynamically add HTML code that needs to be compiled before it can be used (you're trying to bind to a method and variable).
Some ways of doing this can be seen here.
From the code you have supplied, however, there are much easier ways to accomplish what you are after. For starters, I would have that code in the HTML to begin with and hide/show it as needed with ngIf.
i use this method and its work
public htmlstr: string;
public idUser:number;
this.idUser = 1;
this.htmlstr = `<a id='innerHtmlClick'>${idUser}</a>`
this.htmlstr.querySelector(`innerHtmlClick`).addEventListener('click', () => {
this.delete(idUser);
});
public delete(idUser){
alert("id " + idUser);
}
EventListener listen the event bye using id of innerHtml
I assume that it is not a bug but rather Angular's security measure against XSS attacks - for more information I would suggest taking a look here https://angular.io/guide/security#sanitization-example
I somewhat also fail to understand why you insist on passing the event via string literal instead of just simply using:
<div>
<a (click)="delete(idUser)">${this.idUser}</a>
</div>
Your component has inner Html.
Angular will not allow events inside inner Html portions for security reasons. You can use Child components. to make events from inside of inner Html portions. Create a child component and put your html inside the child component and pass the data by using any angular events between parent and child using Input, Output features in Angular
I don't often use [innerHTML], but it looks like the template string you're using <a (click)="delete(idUser)">${idUser}</a> is referencing ${idUser} when you might have meant ${this.idUser}?
Below code snippet worked for me:-
In component :
ngAfterViewChecked () {
if (this.elementRef.nativeElement.querySelector('ID or Class of the Html element')) {
this.elementRef.nativeElement.querySelector('ID or Class of the Html element').addEventListener('click', this.editToken.bind(this));
}
}
inside constructor parameter:-
constructor( private readonly elementRef: ElementRef) {}
import { ElementRef } from '#angular/core';---> at the top of the file
implement 'AfterViewChecked'
I have a problem with asynchronous HTTP calls in Angular 4 using typescript/components... I create an array of objects, and in the HTML I have checkboxes next to the objects. Now I want certain objects to be checked, by executing a function in angular. However when I do
(document.getElementById(id) as HTMLInputElement).checked = true;
In my component.ts.
It can't find the element however when I do the same code in a function that executes when you push a button it works. So the problem is that the HTML is not fully loaded when I execute the function. How can I make sure the HTML is fully loaded?
Yeah You shouldn't be manipulating the DOM.
Tag your HTML element in the html using hash.
<input ... #inputname />
Retrieved in the ts controller component.
#ViewChild('inputname') theinput;
Check after view init. ngAfterViewInit if it is checked
ngAfterViewInit() {
...
(this.form as HTMLInputElement).checked
...
}
Consider this as the last option since I wouldn't recommend direct DOM manipulation in Angular. But if you are still facing the issue, use can use my solution as a work around.
In constructor ,
let interval = setInterval(() => {
let flag = self.checkFunction();
if (flag)
clearInterval(interval);
}, 100)
Now create the function
checkFunction() {
if(document.getElementById(id)){
(document.getElementById(id) as HTMLInputElement).checked = true;
return true;
}
return false;
}
I have a textarea that on button click will be filled with the contents of a certain file. I am trying to implement CodeMirror that will automatically highlight the syntax of the code that is loaded into the textarea.
You have to make sure you have the proper mode js files loaded (look at the external resources in the fiddle) and then it's as simple as a setValue call.
http://jsfiddle.net/blaird/mssrahz1/1/
var myCodeMirror = CodeMirror.fromTextArea(document.getElementById("editor"), {
lineNumbers: true,
mode: "htmlmixed"
});
var loadButton = document.getElementById("load");
loadButton.onclick = function () {
// here you'd load your file and then call setValue with the result
myCodeMirror.setValue("<div>Hi There</div>\n<ul>\n\t<li>one</li>\n</ul>");
};
