The following code works just fine when it comes to completing the form located on the webpage. The issue arises when it comes time to submit the form.
This appears to be some an issue with validation, as when the form is completed systematically, the submit button is disabled. However, when I go back over the text boxes and manually type in the exact same information, the submit button then becomes available. I believe the form thinks it is incomplete, thus disabling the submit button. I even systematically reenabled this button using SubmitBtn.disabled = False (which allows it to be manually or systematically clicked), and it still will not submit.
I have never encountered this type of form validation when filling in webpages.
I am currently on Internet Explorer 11
The following code is complete and can be tested without needing modification. This is a website that is made available to the public

Thanks to some assistance, it appears that on this particular form prior to setting the text for each input object that I am required to use object.setActive.
So the code would end as follows:
oSSN.setActive
oSSN.InnerText = sSSN
oSSN2.setActive
oSSN2.InnerText = sSSN
oLastName.setActive
oLastName.InnerText = sLastName
oFirstName.setActive
oFirstName.InnerText = sFirstName
IE.document.ParentWindow.Scroll 0&, 710&
oCaptcha.setActive
oCaptcha.InnerText = InputBox("Security answer (Captcha)")

I am trying to automate a report through VBA. I have worked in VBA but not able to login in iTunes website through codes. Someone told me that it is written in IFrame, but i have no idea. Even i am not able to put my username in input box of login page.

API sounds like a good idea. The whole page is very slow loading (for me at least) and there is an iframe to navigate.
I would go with selenium basic wrapper for vba and switch to the iframe. I will try to improve this when I have time but for now this works.
After installing selenium you will need to add a reference via VBE > Tools > References to Selenium Type library.

I have a function that loads a website prompting a user to login. This works on everyone's computers except one person and I cannot figure it out. I get a runtime error on the line Do Until ieApp.ReadyState = 4: DoEvents: Loop that reads "Automation error. The object invoked has disconnected from its clients."

Set ieDoc = ieApp.Document

Seems like the object ieApp simply loses the instance of IE and can't do anything. Anyone have any suggestions?

This code is taken from my blog. The code loops through shell windows looking to match the title bar which for IE will be the url. This way the reference is reacquired. Sometimes the reference can be lost due to a change of security zone etc.

I've been banging my head against he wall trying to figure out why this VBA code will not work :(
I am simply trying to insert the value entered into the excel input box into a website's input box. I am a novice when it comes to HTML so I'm sure that has something to do with it.
Here is the HTML element from the website Zomato.com:
<input class="dark" id="location_input" role="combobox" aria-expanded="true" aria-labelledby="label_search_location" aria-owns="explore-location-suggest" aria-autocomplete="list" placeholder="Please type a location...">
Here is my VBA code:
Sub Merchant_Extraction()
Dim IE As Object
Dim form As Variant
Dim button As Variant
Set IE = CreateObject("internetexplorer.application")
merchantzip = InputBox("Enter Zip Code")
With IE
.Visible = True
.navigate ("http://www.zomato.com")
While IE.readystate <> 4
DoEvents
Wend
IE.Document.GetElementByID(“location_input_sp”).Item.innertext = merchantzip
Set form = IE.Document.getelementsbytagname("form")
Set button = form(0).onsubmit
form(0).get
End With
Set IE = Nothing
End Sub
I am unclear why it's not working - any help would be incredible!
API XMLHTTP GET request
The API was mentioned. The documention is here.
The basic free account allows access to restaurant information and search APIs (up to 1000 calls/day).
An example first 0-20 results call, with a city id specified (68 for Manchester,UK), is as follows; a JSON response is received. The response it parsed into a JSON object with JSONConverter.bas

Zomato - Common APIs:
Finding your city ID:
The quickest way for me was to go to concatenate the city onto a base URL string e.g. https://www.zomato.com/manchester, then click search and right-click inspect HTML on first result. Then Ctrl+F to bring up search box, search for CITY_ID, and scan through find results for the HTML until city id found e.g.
As far as entering values into webpages the correct syntax would be:
IE.Document.all.Item("location_input").Value = ""
I've combined your routine with some code that I use so you can see an example. I have not been able to test however. In my environment, the IE object disconnects after the .navigate portion so I added in a loop to find and re-assign the object...

I created a macro, in which I can fetch each URL from any webpage.
Now, I have each URL in column.
How can I check if a URL is working.
If any one of these URL is not working then it should show me error not working next to URL in next column.
Below is the code I wrote:
Sub CommandButton1_Click()
Dim ie As Object
Dim html As Object
Dim j As Integer
j = 1
Set ie = CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application")
ie.Visible = True
url = "www.mini.co.uk"
ie.navigate url
Do While ie.READYSTATE <> READYSTATE_COMPLETE
Application.StatusBar = "Trying to go to website ..."
Loop
Application.StatusBar = " "
Set html = ie.document
'Dim htmltext As Collection
Dim htmlElements As Object
Dim htmlElement As Object
Set htmlElements = html.getElementsByTagName("*")
For Each htmlElement In htmlElements
'If htmlElement.getAttribute("href") <> "" Then Debug.Print htmlElement.getAttribute("href")
If htmlElement.getAttribute("href") <> "" Then Cells(j, 1).Value = htmlElement.getAttribute("href")
j = j + 1
Next
ActiveSheet.Range("$A$1:$A$2752").removeDuplicates Columns:=1, Header:=xlNo
End Sub
This code is to fetch the URL from web-page.
Below is the code to check the status of URL, if it is working or not.
Sub CommandButton2_Click()
Dim k As Integer
Dim j As Integer
k = 1
j = 1
'Dim Value As Object
'Dim urls As Object
'urls.Value = Cells(j, 1)

Do While ie.READYSTATE <> READYSTATE_COMPLETE
Application.StatusBar = "checking the Data. Please wait..."

'Set html = ie.document

Since you are interested to know whether the link is working, xmlhttp may be one solution.
Set sh = ThisWorkBook.Sheets("Sheet1")
Dim column_number: column_number = 2
'Row starts from 2
For i=2 To 100
strURL = sh.cells(i,column_number)
sh.cells(i, column_number+1) = CallHTTPRequest(strURL)
Next
Function CallHTTPRequest(strURL)
Set objXMLHTTP = CreateObject("MSXML2.XMLHTTP")
objXMLHTTP.Open "GET", strURL, False
objXMLHTTP.send
status = objXMLHTTP.Status
'strContent = ""
'If objXMLHTTP.Status = 200 Then
' strContent = objXMLHTTP.responseText
'Else
' MsgBox "HTTP Request unsuccessfull!", vbCritical, "HTTP REQUEST"
' Exit Function
'End If
Set objXMLHTTP = Nothing

You can actually get the status codes using IE automation, but it requires working with events and a reference to the Microsoft Internet Controls library.
Private Declare PtrSafe Sub SleepEx Lib "Kernel32.dll" (ByVal dwMilliseconds As Long, Optional ByVal bAlertable As Boolean = True)

Do While IEObject.ReadyState <> READYSTATE_COMPLETE Or IEObject.Busy
SleepEx 50 'No busy waiting, short wait time
DoEvents 'Need to receive events from IE application
Loop
NavigateReturnStatus = LastStatusCode
End Sub
This doesn't return a conventional HTTP status code, but instead returns a NavigateError status code. That means you can get more detailed information about errors, but no information about successful navigation. Of course, if it's 0, no error has occurred so the status is likely 200.
Speed is very much slower than a WinHTTP/MSXML approach, but I'm sharing this mainly for cases where someone's already navigating using Internet Explorer anyway.
Of course, the code can (and likely should) be modified to reuse the internet explorer application.
