Another user has left a localhost connection running I cannot stop - mysql

Forgive my vague wording on this (it is not my strong point).
Basically I am trying to run a site locally so in MACS host file I have set the URL to run locally and set the site up on MAMP.
This issue I am having is another user on this pc has left a connection running so when i look at any site locally it shows there site not mine.
They no longer work here so we do not have the password to access there account.
Is there a way to turn this off or overwrite this.
Once again
Sorry for vagueness
Thanks for any potential help in advanced.

Localhost works only in my computer and not in my local network

Working on HTML/CSS/JS code. While i set up a localhost it works fine on my computer (the one hosting it) but i can't connect from any other computer on my network. I tryed (almost) everything and searched a lot throughout the last 3 days. I tryed XAMPP and MAMP but whatever i do i get the same error; "ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT" or "ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED" (Chrome). Im new to programming and self-tought...so in many cases i did not know exactly what i have been doing... i followed tuttorials and articles about relevant subjects but nothing came out!
At this point, i'm not even sure if what im trying to do is even possible, but many people i came accross searching said it worked for them no-problem.
Also, strange thing; "localhost" seems to work fine on my computer, while "127.0.0.1" sometimes don't. IPv4 works fine allways.
EDIT Found the solution, it was just my firewall blocking the apache server -_- I am dumb. Thanks for the answers & help!
From my experience to access you're outputted code from a different computer on the same network use http://192.168.X.X where X.X is your server's local IP address. Should solve the issue. To get the ip of the computer its hosted on (permitting its windows) open up your cmd prompt and type "ipconfig" then you will get all of the neccesary ip info.
Yeah every localhost points to 127.0.0.1 that means the machine you are using.
In your lan you should find your LAN Address and access using it.
Depending on your scenario maybe you need to set some DNS Server.

Can't log in to an app running on LocalHost - no network activity?

I'm working on an app with a team. They are able to log in fine when running it on their local servers, however when I try to do so I get 'Invalide username / password' and no network activity or console errors in dev tools.
I have no idea why this could be, we're working on the exact same code - clearly it's something on my machine.
Has anyone come across anything like this before?
(Have tried other browsers and still nothing).
Maybe you need to check your server instalation on your machine.
For example, if you are using XAMPP to manage your Apache maybe there is some configuration that was set in the wrong way.
My advice is, save your code and re-install your server, pay attention to all configuration details and see if the problem is solved.

Remote desktop connection conundrum

i may be going about this the wrong way and would appreciate guidance on how it should be done. :)
I have a windows 7 computer on which i have installed thinVNC (Remote desktop application)
i liked it because its cross platform and does not need the clients to install anything on their devices to connect to the computer. They simply use a HTML 5 enabled browser to connect.
The purpose of this is so that they can get to a Microsoft access database on the computer, log in to it and perform some transactions.
Now, when one person logs in they see the desktop and interact with it and thats fine. However, when another person connects to the computer, they basically watch as the first user goes about using the database. Which i think is the purpose of this kind of software!
So i guess what i want is that each user gets their own fresh "session" if you like, like having the file on a network drive. So users connect to the computer, don't see others using the system and there's a folder where i have granted access to external users and placed the database in it. They will then doubleclick the file icon and be able to login etc.
So what is the best way to achieve this? ideally i don't want the user to have to install any software to be able to connect, but if its unavoidable then so be it.
thanks
Why not use Microsoft's built in remote desktop? There's a version for most (if not all) devices now and it would let you just setup multiple accounts on the Win 7 pc and get each user to log into them individually.

Windows Server 2012 IIS Issues

Let me first say I soley beleive IIS is usless because I have never gotten it to work ever, no matter what I do it never lets me access the website.
Before I start let me establish I have no choice but to use IIS in this instance and I really need this to work.
Let me also establish the following:
Yes I have tried turning it off and on again
There is 0 (NONE) firewall on this machine, and yes the server is entirely updated
My question is, whenever I try to create a website, for example the port im launching a server on is on port 3606.
I am attempting to have my website come up on port 3606, and direct me into a folder that is located at c:\mysqlservices
Now! Inside this folder is phpmyadmin source files, and in a desperate attempt to get this to work I have made the permissions to where EVERYONE, IUSR and IIS_USR all have full read write and nuking permisisons to this directory, its files, and all of its subdirectories.
Now, When I go to this address, for example, panel.archservers.com:3606,
All I get is the issue "403 - Forbidden: Access is denied.
You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied."
Thank you in advance for the help, all I need is to get this IIS server to actually work, because as it is, I cannot do anything with this IIS server..
Thank you very much in advance
This link suggest to add "IIS_IUSRS" user, which is not the same as "IIS_USR".
I needed to install the PHP core, then reset my permissions back to just iis_usrs.
It worked great
you are entering a wrong context...give a correct context of your application it will open that page..
Ex:
www.example.com - Forbidden Error
www.example.com/ex.jsp - Displays the respected page
Also check proper permissions are supplied or not to the directories

MAMP - suddenly getting 404s on my localhost

I have a very simple MAMP setup, with my index.php and related files in my htdocs folder. I was rolling along fine last night, being able to access the files by typing in things like localhost/index.php. Now, all of the sudden, I get 404s (file not found on this server) when I try to connect to any of the pages that are in my localhost folder or subdirectories of it.
What's more, when I just type in localhost, it shows me some of the directories but DOES NOT show any of my .php files, even though they show up when I perform a ls in the command line.
My MAMP app shows that I am connected to my Apache/MySQL servers. I can still access the localhost/MAMP homepage. But for some obscene reason, all of the sudden my php files are inaccessible. I have changed nothing inside of them! What's going on?
Edit: Turns out I needed to change the permissions of my php files -- they were set to read and write only for sudo and read only for everyone else. I ran chmod 777 on the applicable files and things were back to normal, but this begs several questions:
Why was it working earlier then changed without me ever modifying the file permissions?
Why should I have to make it writeable for other users to be able to access it on my local host as the admin user?
If I were to deploy this code in the wild (I know MAMP isn't used that often in the wild, but still), what would I do? Wouldn't creating these kinds of permissions result in serious security holes?
EDIT 2: Aaaaaand now it's not working again. Again, no changes made to file preferences, etc., just a few tweaks to the actual php files themselves. I don't have any sharing enabled under my sharing settings in System Preferences... this behavior is really starting to become frustrating.
Open Activity Monitor and make sure all instances of Apache and MySQL are closed. Sometimes MAMP has a tendency to not actually quit those processes and the next time you start it up they're still running and it generally messes with things (how's that for a technical explanation?).
Make sure there isn't any other process that's trying to use localhost for any reason. I came across this problem with POW installed. The POW process had stopped responding and it ended up interfering with MAMP's Apache.
Make sure that MAMP's settings haven't somehow been changes. I've seen MAMP revert custom document roots for seemingly no reason which can cause this.
I'd say even before any of this open your system preferences and make sure your Mac's own built-in Apache is off. You'll be able to see this in the Sharing section (it looks like its been moved in Mavericks however).
Make sure you're not routing traffic through a VPN or SSH using Sidestep. I had this problem after going back to an old project I built with MAMP while working from a coffee shop.
