Is it possible to hide data label lines in a bubble chart. I cannot seem to find a way to hide the lines. I have tried using 'No Colour' in the ÇalloutLineColor section of the chart but it wont allow you to use a transparent colour.
What i want is to have all the names next to the bubble chart as is showing in the image below, but i want to remove the lines that point to the bubble from the name.

After disabling the smart label options, i am know getting the names overlapping. I changed the Rotation and Inclination to 0 but the names are still overlapping. Any ideas?

I have 4 charts created in SSRS 2017 and I need them to be the same size.
Are there any settings (and where? in SSRS) to make size all the same for all of my 4 charts?
When I go into Chart Area properties, there is nothing about the chart size...

When I clicking on the Chart Area slightly outside the actual chart I see the following Chart Properties:
You can control the position of the chart area and the plot position of the pie within the area by setting the CustomPosition and CustomInnerPlotPosition properties. Select the chart area first to see these properties.
Please note: You must select the CHART AREA object in the designer not the chart Just click slightly outside the pie to select the correct area then you will see these properties.
You can do the same for the legend too if required so you can get full control over the final rendered size.
It does take a bit of trial and error to get a layout that suits all your needs but it can be done.
You cant directly influence the size of the chart, like Hannover Fist said it depends on multiple conditions (for example the legend). What you can do is to put the legend on top or on bottom of the chart (the reason for the different sizes of your charts it that the legend text from right to left is different, thus it uses the space from the visual). This way the size of the chart should be more or less the same size. Right click on your legend Legend properties > General > Legend position. With the MaxAutoSize property from the legend you can a little bit control the size of your legend.
To your second question. No, a chart (also tablix and matrix) can only have one Dataset as source. You can see this in the chart properties at the drop down list. You just can chose one element. But you can create one big dataset with all the data for the different charts. Then assign this dataset to one chart and copy it. And then you set different filters to the charts.
For me the above didn't help. The varying sizes of pie charts related to the fact that some had been set to have their series value > label > position = outside and others were position = auto. All pie charts had their labels hidden so you coudln't see them at all but SSRS was allowing space for them when set to position = outside. This made it extremely frustrating to chase down where the difference in size was coming from. Hope this may help someone who comes across a similar issue.

the Chart Area Properties dialog box appears.

For Shading Property select: "Simple"
This is most likely caused by an emulation of a diffuse lighting effect. The following code worked in the former dundas chart for area charts:
Chart1.ChartAreas("Default").Area3DStyle.Light = LightStyle.None;
should be something similar for the pies.

I have a report with a table in it. And each table cell has borders around it.
The problem I'm experiencing is that if I hide the textbox in any of the cells, the borders also disappear.
I want the textbox to hide but still show the borders.
The textbox in question shows the visibility toggle icons (+/-) so I can't use an iif statement to change the textbox's value to be an empty string when I don't want to see anything in it.
You can place the textbox inside a rectangle.

The Problem:
I assume that you placed a border around your text box and decided to place the hide and toggle element to your text box. or your Rows are not stepped down. Two solutions, I think the first solution is what you are looking for:
Solution 1:
I Noticed that SRSS reporting also has this grouping feature by rows. So to hide the text in the textbox without losing borders is to create a step-down feature within the grouping. So basically you can assign hide text box property without disturbing the rows above the textbox. This may be a better solution.
Solution 2:
You must instead place the border attribute to your text box and place the hide and toggle function on the individual groups. So for you, you have to remove the hide + toggle feature on the textbox. Right click the group element in your "rows" or "columns" and assign your drilldown hide + toggle feature on the group elements. In other words: "group properties" not "text box properties"

I ran into the same issue. I solved it by changing the text color to white (or whatever the background color of the textbox is). I was doing this inside a table, and couldn't find a way to insert a textbox inside of a rectangle as stated in the other answer...
I had similar problem and used similar approach like #Anony Mous, but instead of changing text color to background color I used expression to change text value =IIF(InScope("RowGroup") = "True", Fields!Textboxvalue.Value, "") - and it works as expected.
Problem with background color change is that, if user unintendely select the text and makes it active, it become visible.
Just select the Textbox in question, run F4 (to access to the properties chart at the right side of VS or SQL), select the HideDuplicates dropdown and Select the Data Set that you are using :)
I have created a bar chart that shows values on data labels.
The Data label is placed outside the bar
But in some cases the label appears on the bar where the bar is too long.
In this scenario I would like to conditionally change the font/colour of the data label so that it's more visible.
However I can't see a way to dynamically determine where the label has been placed.
What I can think of is this. You can change the background/font color of all those series labels who's value lies in the range of 95%-100% of the maximum "Value". To be exactly precise as to what should be the threshold to change the bg/font color seems a daunting task, but you could play around with test data.
For writing the expression to change the font color,I would first change the dataset and add a column on the lines of PercOfMax. This column can be calculated easily in the dataset by using basic aggregate functions.
Then you need to go to the Chart Series Label properties-->Color and write the expression on the lines of -
=IIF(Fields!PercOfMax.Value>=95, "YELLOW", "BLACK")
As I said, you might need to do some more research to finalize the value of this threshold(which I am assuming to be 95).
Another solution to this problem is to use fill colour of the label and set its background to a bright colour (e.g. colour), and leave the font colour of the label black. Thus you can always see the label, and there is no difference when it's outside of the bar.
I have a column graph, that shows a trend of consumption over time,
The y-axis being consumption and x-axis being time in month,
I have to implement a target consumption.
I implemented a target, by adding data field with a Line chart type, this is a constant, and will just display a horizontal line.
The problem i am facing is, if there is only one month, the line disappears? is there a way not to have it disappear, or is there a better way to add line target in column charts in SSRS

Adding a StripLine may do what you want. They are a little hard to find, but here is how:
1) Make sure that the properties window is open beforehand. If it isn't, either hit F4 or go to the View Menu -> Properties Window.
2) Left click on your vertical axis to select it.
3) Select the StripLines entry in the Properties Window and click the ellipsis:
4) Click Add
5) Starting off, the stripline is invisible, so it can be a bit hard to adjust. :). To make it visible as a thin line, set BorderStyle to "Solid". Adjust the color with BorderColor and width with BorderWidth (not StripWidth). While positioning the line, I like to set the color to something obnoxious and make it wide to make it easier to spot.
5) To position it, you want to set the IntervalOffsetType to match the type of your interval you have set on the vertical axis. Then IntervalOffset to the y-value of where you want your target line to appear. Since you only want 1 line to appear and not repeat, you must keep Interval set to auto.
6) Once you get it positioned, make final adjustments to the appearance.
I had a hard time finding it for my Databar. I stumbled onto this...
Make sure Properties toolbar is visible
Click the Databar to highlight
Find ChartAreas in properties toolbar, click to open ChartAreas dialog
Find ValueAxes in ChartAreas dialog, click to open ChartAxis dialog
Find StripLines in ChartAxis dialog, click to open ChartStripLine dialog
I was playing around a little earlier, and i noticed that i can change the interval for the major and minor gridlines, AND change the format for the lines. I had the bright idea of making the minor lines look like the major ones i had and format the major lines to look like a target line. I don't know if this'll work for you buy you could try it.
