WordPress CSS changing preset for one page - html

Currently I'm helping about with a WordPress site and we have a fixed CSS (I guess that's the case in every WordPress Page) and its set that is "transforms" all letters into Uppercase.
Well I'm supposed to post one article where that shouldn't be the case.
I know that I can access the specific CSS Settings of one Page over the CSS Button, but honestly I don't know what to type to change the preset for this particular page.

Instead of in the Visual editor, go to the Text editor. At the very top of the article, do this:
<div style="text-transform: none;">
And at the end of the article, do:
</div>

In this case you can add css code below and put it on the Additional CSS Customizer (WP 4.7 or higher) or put into style.css file
.page-id-24 {
text-transform: none; /* you may need to use 'none !important' */
}
Please note that you can use .page-id-{pageid} for page and .post-id-{postid} for post. For certain element such as p, h1 and etc you can use .page-id-{pageid} {html tag}.
Cheers!

Modify div size with no access to html

I'm trying to edit some background on a page. I don't have access to the html file, only .css and .js. The page has a default theme that won't expand the background on the whole screen (bottom) because of the structure. I managed to swap the default background .png with an animated gradient through css but now I need to change the div. Tried with the #import url at the very top of the css file to call an external css but it won't work. Are there any ways to override the html structure? thank you
Forgot to say that I don't have access to the default template's css either. The service keeps everything on the server and once I installed the template in the local folder (the whole thing works with dropbox) I found an additional .css and .js in which I can add other code, though they come basically blank. What I need to do is to override the template's div structure from one of those 2 files. Using DevTools i found the name of the template div class and I guess I can download the relative .css. Still don't know how to override it... I'm not too familiar with coding in general...
Not clear with what you're trying to do. But you can always use Javascript DOM manipulation functions.
Check out this link for that: http://callmenick.com/post/basics-javascript-dom-manipulation.
You can also use jquery which provides better API.
If it is in some class definition or in a stylesheet file then use selector with high Specificity to get your definition on high priority
.oldclass{
width:328px;
height:328px;
background-image:url('http://via.placeholder.com/328x328');
}
/*Your New definition*/
div.oldclass{
background-image:url('http://via.placeholder.com/328x328');
}
<div class="oldclass">
</div>
If it is in inline style, then use !important tag
.oldclass{
width:328px;
height:328px
}
/*Your New definition*/
div.oldclass{
background-image:url('http://via.placeholder.com/328x328') !important;
}
<div class="oldclass" style="background-image:url('https://www.gravatar.com/avatar/fca24c2acab4d63343d4608ce256dcec?s=328&d=identicon&r=PG&f=1');">

How to find and delete specific row in blogger css with span tag?

My english is not to much good, and i dont know to describe this problem good.
I have some blog on Blogger and I was install some free theme. I dont want to my name (author info) is on whole blog, but there is no button to check it off, I must do it trough HTML editor.
I found and delete it from most of places on blog, but I cant delete it from some header "slideshow"
I try to find it via "inspect elements" option, to find some familiar word there and search it in html. I know to I cant build web site if I dont know main steps, but I always stuck on some stupid things.
<span class="recent-author">Alexandar Sh</span></div>
This part make me trouble, maybe I looks stupid, but I am :D . I am total amateur with this and I dont know what to do to I dont get this anymore.
screenshot
One more Screenshot
This "recent" probably activate this option to work to show slideshow (not moving images <[One more screenshot][3]>) so when I type that "display: none" option, I block all "widget"
Thanks for help!
I got idea (didnt know to that is possible) and add tag to widget part of code. (before I add this, what you add me, after first Style tag. I didnt see before to there is more style tags. So you help me both. I use tag becouse Rico tell me that, and put code what Derek gave me.
Thank you.
You should have access to a .css CSS file. That is the 'Styles' for your site. (.html is the markup/content`) etc. ~ If you can find a place that has CSS rules... you could add:
.recent-author {
display: none;
}
For reasons I'm not going to try and explain here... you may also need to add this:
.recent-author {
display: none !important;
}
Try adding this line in any of your Css files:
span.recent-author {
display: none;
}
If you don't have any Css file / don't have access to any just add an inline style tag in your html file:
<style>
code from above
</style>
This should remove your author span tag.

What CSS attributes can be used to control the pager?

I have a repeat custom control with a pager. In the designer the text ("previous 1|2|3|4|5 Next") is aligned on right; unfortunately when displayed on server this text is left aligned. I've tried to add the text-align: right to the font parameter of the style, without any success. The server is also unable to extend a xp:div to the CSS specified size (width: 800px).
I'm in 8.5.3 release. Does anyone had this kind of problem?
Will you please clarify the question. And paste the pager source then will have better idea.
If you have selected the pager control and given the alignment property as Right, then you source should show as follows.
<xp:pager partialRefresh="true" layout="Previous Group Next" xp:key="headerPager" id="pager1" panelPosition="right"></xp:pager>
You can add style="float:right" in pager control although it is not best practice to add CSS styles to XPages or Custom Controls.
Find out which CSS class the pager element is associated with (with developer tools in browser). It should be class xspPagerRight. Look also for the source where float: right is overwritten with left. If you can't change it there then you have to "overwrite" it. Create a Style Sheets file under Resources and put in
.xspPagerRight {
float: right;
}
Then add it as a resource to your XPages or theme.
Note about the question : why the title is different of what it was when I created it ?

How To Remove Wordpress Title From One Page?

I know this can be done with custom CSS, but I can't figure out the right way to do it.
I think I can figure it out for all of them if you show me how to do it with just the title.
For example, this is the element I want to remove: <h1 class="page-title entry-title">
I know that {display: none} is the CSS to hide an item, but how can I do it for only a specific page?
the website is: http://myinneryoga.com/strange-exotic-fruit-supplement/
Use h1.page-title { display: none; } to hide the title, this will affect ALL pages that use the same template.
If you want to do it specifically to this post use the following:
#post-28 h1.page-title { display: none; } the post number will lock it to that page only.
Based on that page, the body has classes
<body class="wordpress... singular-page singular-page-28 layout-1c"
28 is the page id of that page, so if you just want a CSS fix for this, you can use the code below
.singular-page-28 h1.page-title{
display:none;
}
note, if you move the wordpress to another webhost, via export/import, you'll need to look at the page_id again if it changed
See this fiddle, if this is the way you want it.
http://jsfiddle.net/Qj4Us/
It simply looks for the targetted URL like "http://myinneryoga.com/strange-exotic-fruit-supplement/" and if found, hides the h1 with class=page-title
Instead of modifying CSS which will affect all pages we can make use of simple plugin. Below are the steps :
Click on Plugins > Add New.
Now search for Hide Title.
Install and activate the plugin.
Now click on Pages > All Pages.
Now edit the particular page where you want to hide the title.
Now, In the right panel you can see an option to Hide title. Check that and publish your changes.

Unlink a CSS stylesheet from specific page/div/tag

I am working on a website management utility for a friend of mine. In the index page, I have a link to a CSS stylesheet that came with a template I've bought. I use CKEditor to edit files, but the CSS stylsheet applies many bad styles to the editor.
I am not quite familiar with CSS (that's why I bought the template...) and I want to unlink the stylesheet only from the div/tag. I don't want to unlink it from the whole page, because it uses the stylesheet.
<div style="UNLINKED"> [CKEDITOR CODE GOES HERE] </div>
I don't know if it is possible, but I need to do something with it.
Thanks!
You must override the styles, there is no way to "unlink" a specific element from the page styles.
Therefore, for example, if your stylesheet defines bold text for all paragraphs like this:
p { font-weight: bold; }
you have to override that to bring the paragraph back to normal text:
div.unlinked p { font-weight: normal; }
Assign a class to the div and create style for it- the styles defined in the class will override global styles.
div.nostyle {
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
text-decoration: none;
border: 0 none;
}
<div class="nostyle">CKEDITOR CODE</div>
It cannot unlink the stylesheet once if was linked on the beginning.
Only some circumstances can help:
put the all the <div ... </div> period into an iframe.
or override all the style elements of the div
In this case, I would advise embedding the code into an iframe element. Otherwise, there is no way to avoid the cascade without overwriting every rule affecting the content with more specific rules.
ok, so the solution may be different for every dev. if it's ckeditor, try deleting the table selectors. for me the problem was with the <td> selector. thanks for the answers...
Easy! All you have to do is delete the code at the top of the HTML! Once you do, the page automatically unlinks from the stylesheet. No need to override what was provided. :)
