I'm trying to implement a popup at the bottom right corner of my web in WordPress.
The popup is working properly, but I have 2 lines of text, a message and a button. Everything was okay since I wanted to put a margin-top in the button because the button was covering the text.
Here you can see the HTML code and the CSS.
#corner-slider {
position: fixed;
z-index: 10000;
overflow: hidden;
border-radius: 15px;
color: white;
padding: 10px;
margin-bottom: 60px;
height: 120px;
width: 369px;
border: 1px solid #2d93f1;
background: #2d93f1;
}
#corner-slider.hidden {
display: none;
}
#corner-slider .close {
position: absolute;
cursor: pointer;
font-size: 16px;
display: inline-block;
z-index: 1002;
right: 24px;
top: 10px;
}
.popup-button {
padding: 8px 30px;
background-color: #ffffff;
border-color: #ffffff;
border-radius: 45px;
margin-top: 240px;
}
<div id="corner-slider">
Do you want to stay here?
<br />
<a target="_blank" href="#" class="popup-button">Click me!</a>
</div>
So, why is margin-top not working? What can I do?
Thanks.
The anchor element <a> is an inline element. Change its display type to inline-block or block:
#corner-slider {
position: fixed;
z-index: 10000;
overflow: hidden;
border-radius: 15px;
color: white;
padding: 10px;
margin-bottom: 60px;
height: 120px;
width: 369px;
border: 1px solid #2d93f1;
background: #2d93f1;
}
#corner-slider.hidden {
display: none;
}
#corner-slider .close {
position: absolute;
cursor: pointer;
font-size: 16px;
display: inline-block;
z-index: 1002;
right: 24px;
top: 10px;
}
.popup-button {
padding: 8px 30px;
background-color: #ffffff;
border-color: #ffffff;
border-radius: 45px;
display: inline-block;
margin-top: 1em;
}
<div id="corner-slider">
Do you want to stay here?
<br />
<a target="_blank" href="#" class="popup-button">Click me!</a>
</div>
button is not stable, just add disply:inline-block or float:left
#corner-slider {
position: fixed;
z-index: 10000;

border-radius: 15px;

padding: 10px;

height: 120px;
width: 369px;

i made some changes in your code just have a look in the below code, just place the text in the div and add a css of margin-bottom:15px;
<style>
#corner-slider {
position:fixed;
z-index:10000;
overflow:hidden;
border-radius: 15px;
color: white;
padding: 10px;
margin-bottom: 60px;
height: 120px;
width:369px;
border:1px solid #2d93f1;
background:#2d93f1;
}
#corner-slider.hidden{
display:none;
}
#corner-slider .close{
position:absolute;
cursor:pointer;
font-size:16px;
display:inline-block;
z-index:1002;
right:24px;
top:10px;
}
.popup-button {
padding: 8px 30px;
background-color: #ffffff;
border-color: #ffffff;
border-radius: 45px;
margin-top: 240px;
}
/*--------------- new css ----------*/
.small-area
{
margin-bottom: 15px;
}
</style>
<div id="corner-slider">
<div class="small-area">Do you want to stay here?</div>
<a target="_blank" href="#" class="popup-button">Click me!</a>
</div>

Hi I have created the following search bar:
<div class="container-fluid">
<div class="search-bar">
<form class="searchBar">

</div>
</div>
</div>
</form>
</div>
</div>
Where on firefox is rendered perfectly while on the chrome, the search button is on the other side of the screen not grouped with the rest of the search bar as shown in the picture below. Any idea why this is happening and how I can solve it pls?

I saw this in chrome:
and this in FF:
To get on the line I added this:
.autocomplete {

I am trying to create a speech bubble with an arrow on the left and right side. Something like below
I have used the below CSS to achieve the same :
.speech-wrapper{
padding: 30px 40px;
}
.chatbox {
padding: 5px;
margin-left: 5px;
margin-right: 5px;
margin-top:3px;
background: #c7edfc;
color: #000;
position: relative;
border-radius: 4px;
overflow-wrap: break-word;
word-wrap: break-word;
hyphens: auto;
}
.chatbox_other{
padding: 5px;
margin-left: 5px;
margin-right: 5px;
margin-top:3px;
background: #D3D3D3;
color: #000;
position: relative;
border-radius: 4px;
overflow-wrap: break-word;
word-wrap: break-word;
hyphens: auto;
}
.name_other{
font-weight: 600;
position: absolute;
font-size: 12px;
margin: 0 0 4px;
color: #3498db;
bottom: 8px;
right: 10px;
}
.timestamp_other{
font-size: 11px;
position: absolute;
text-align: left;
bottom: 0px;
left: 10px;
text-transform: uppercase; color: #999
}
.timestamp{
font-size: 11px;
position: absolute;
bottom: 8px;
right: 10px;
text-transform: uppercase; color: #999
}
/* speech bubble 13 */
.name{
font-weight: 600;
font-size: 12px;
margin: 0 0 4px;
color: #3498db;
}
.bubble-arrow {
position: absolute;
width: 0;
bottom:42px;
left: -16px;
height: 0;
&.alt{
right: -2px;
bottom: 40px;
left: auto;
}
}
.bubble-arrow:after {
content: "";
position: absolute;
border: 0 solid transparent;
border-top: 9px solid #c7edfc;
border-radius: 0 20px 0;
width: 15px;
height: 30px;
transform: rotate(145deg);
}
.bubble-arrow.alt:after {
transform: rotate(45deg) scaleY(-1);
}
But for me, the arrow is missing always it always comes with a box.
I am a beginner to HTML and CSS any help on this will be appreciated.
Am I doing anything wrong to draw the rectangle?
EDIT:
I can see the chat bubble on chrome and all recent browsers but when I try using the very old browsers the below statement does not decode correctly. So the chat triangle was not in the appropriate position.
transform: rotate(145deg);
}
.bubble-arrow.alt:after {
transform: rotate(45deg) scaleY(-1);
}
HTML CODE:
<div class="speech-wrapper"><div class="chatbox"><div class="txt"><p class="name">TestUser1</p>Hi<span class="timestamp">10:20 pm</span></div><div class="bubble-arrow alt"></div></div>
Is there anything else can I use apart from the transform
Try this,
<!doctype html>
<html>

I am trying to emulate this nutrition label format in CSS, but I can't get the shapes right at all. The best I can come up with is fiddling with border-radius, but that gives me more of a pill shape, and still not way to get the black cut-out shape at the bottom. Has anyone replicated such a nutrition label in CSS? Would anyone be willing to try? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Here is a link to what I have so far: jsfiddle.net/f5jczunf/
#block {
border-radius:50%/10px;
background: #ccc;
padding: 20px;
width: 50px;
height: 100px;
border: 1px solid #000;
background-color:#FFF;
text-align:center;
}
.number {
font-weight:bold;
font-size:18pt;
text-align:center;
}
<div id="block">
<span class="number">150</span>
<br/>Calories
</div>
Maybe this small example can help.
.label {
position: relative;
width: 100px;
height: 140px;
text-align: center;
border: 1px solid #000;
border-radius: 100px/50px;
overflow: hidden;
}
.title {
display: inline-block;
margin-top: 30px;
}
.bottom {
position: absolute;
bottom: -10px;
left: 0;
right: 0;
height: 50px;
color: #fff;
line-height: 40px;
border-top: 1px solid #000;
border-radius: 100px/50px;
background-color: #000;

Here's my take on it. It does require some advanced, bleeding edge CSS, however.
#import url('https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Open+Sans+Condensed:300');
body {
padding: 3em;
font-size: 16px;
font-family: 'Open Sans Condensed', sans-serif;
}
.label-list {
display: -webkit-inline-box;
display: -ms-inline-flexbox;
display: inline-flex;
}
.label-list .label-item {
text-align: center;
border: 1px solid;
position: relative;
border-radius: 2em / 0.65em;
padding: 0.2em 0.25em 1.5em;
min-width: 3.5em;
overflow: hidden;
margin: 0.1em;
z-index: 1;
background: white;
color: black;
}
.label-list .label-item h1 {
font-size: 3em;
line-height: 1em;
font-weight: 900;
margin: 0;
}
.label-list .label-item h1.smaller {
font-size: 1.75em;
margin-top: 0.5em;
}
.label-list .label-item h1 small {
font-size: 0.4em;
text-transform: none;
}
.label-list .label-item small {
font-size: 1em;
line-height: 1em;
font-weight: 900;
text-transform: uppercase;
}
.label-list .label-item span {
position: absolute;
bottom: 0.5em;
left: 0;
right: 0;
color: white;
font-size: 0.8em;
line-height: 1em;
}
.label-list .label-item span:before {
content: '';
position: absolute;
bottom: 0;
left: 0;
right: 0;
top: 0;
background: black;
z-index: -1;
border-radius: 40%;
transform-origin: center;
width: 100%;
height: 0;
padding-top: 100%;
margin: auto;
transform: rotate(45deg) translate(20%, 20%);
}
<div class="label-list">
<div class="label-item">
<h1>140</h1>
<small>Calories</small>
</div>
<div class="label-item">
<h1 class="smaller">1<small>g</small></h1>
<small>Sat Fat</small>
<span>5% DV</span>

I believe the only way to have this sort of shape in pure CSS is with a few overlapping shapes, something similar to the code below:
.wrapper {
position: relative;
height: 112px;
width: 80px;
overflow: hidden;
}
.rectangle,
.circle {
position: absolute;
box-sizing: border-box;
}
.rectangle {
height: 96px;
width: 80px;
top: 8px;
border-left: 1px solid black;
border-right: 1px solid black;
}
.circle {
width: 200px;
height: 200px;
left: -60px;
border-radius: 200px;
border: 1px solid black;
}
.top {
top: 0;
}
.bottom {
bottom: 0;
}
<div class="wrapper">
<div class="circle top"></div>
<div class="rectangle"></div>
<div class="circle bottom"></div>
</div>
https://jsfiddle.net/dylanstark/01hck5dv/
here my approach for that. I'm using before and after pseudo-elements.
before contains black bg with border-radius and it is overflowing the main #block which has overflow: hidden;.
aftercontains text that is coming from data-text attribute of #block
#block {
border-radius: 50%/10px;
background: #ccc;
padding: 20px;
width: 50px;
height: 100px;
border: 1px solid #000;
background-color: #FFF;
text-align: center;
position: relative;
overflow: hidden;
}
#block:before {
display: block;
content: " ";
position: absolute;
bottom: -15px;
left: 0;
width: 100%;
height: 50px;
border-radius: 50%;
background: black;
z-index: 0;
}
#block:after {
display: block;
content: attr(data-label);
position: absolute;
bottom: 5px;
color: white;
text-align: center;
z-index: 1;
}
.number {
font-weight: bold;
font-size: 18pt;
text-align: center;
}
<div id="block" data-label="5% DY">
<span class="number">150</span>
<br/>Calories
</div>
I have two dropdown lists and they work as expected(that they show the content on hover) however, If I click on the area outside (left side) the list , the dropdown list still shows.
I have tried fixing the CSS but I have not been able to pin point the problem.
Is there a better approach for styling dropdown as I am still new to CSS.
UPDATE:
Testing this in firefox and I was unable to recreate the issue. How can I make sure that works consistently in all browsers?

Here - I shortened the example down a bit (I also don't think you need all that separate CSS for more than one button, you should be able to utilize the classes, and just change specifics by using #dropdown_two .classname for the things (like position) you might want to change.
The problem in Chrome, I think, was that the width of the container was wider than the button itself, and that made it misbehave. It might not be 100%, but it should get you started. I changed some values to dynamic (em instead of px) so there might be some issues.

I wanted to ask what is the best way to create such button with css:
I was trying to create such button with divs using float left and right, but when i zoom in and out right side of the button drops down. Is there a better way to achieve this?
fiddle link
<div style="width:270px">
<div class="button">
<div>
<div>text</div>
<div>text</div>
</div>
<div><div></div></div>
</div>
</div>
.button {
height: 80px;
cursor: pointer;
}
.button:after {
content: ".";
display: block;
clear: both;
visibility: hidden;
line-height: 0;
height: 0;
}
.button > div:first-child {
border-top-left-radius: 4px;
border-bottom-left-radius: 4px;
border: 1px solid #008f70;
background-color: #00b48c;
text-align: right;
float: left;
padding: 15px;
width: 165px;
}
.button > div:first-child > div:first-child {
color: #b8e3d6;
font-size: 12pt;
}
.button > div:first-child > div:last-child {
color: #fff;
font-weight: bold;
font-size: 20pt;
}
.button > div:last-child {
border-top-right-radius: 4px;
border-bottom-right-radius: 4px;
float: right;
margin-right: 9px;
background-color: #008f70;
width: 64px;
height: 81px;
position: relative;
}
All it takes:
button.styled{
color:#fff;
background:#00B48C; /* CHANGE ONLY THIS ONE AND SEE IT HAPPEN ;) */
padding:10px 45px 10px 15px;
border-radius:4px;
/* Do not edit below */
border:0;
position:relative;
overflow:hidden;
box-shadow:inset 0 0 0 1px rgba(0,0,0,0.2);
}
button.styled:after{
background: rgba(0,0,0,0.2);
padding:11px;
content:'\25be'; /* \25bc \25be */
/* Do not edit below */
position:absolute;
right:0;
top:0;
}
<button class="styled">Hello World</button>

Get rid of the duplicate div with text and add top and bottom padding to the other div with text.
You can use Font Awesome to get the caret sign in the dropdown.
.button {
height: 80px;
