I recently started HTML and made my first Website. I made bunch of lines of codes, and the last line is: <input type="submit" name="register" value="Register" action="Registered.html">. I wanted to this submit button named as "Register" to get me to the my "Registered.html" file but something isn't right. The button shows up, and it's valued as "Register" but `action="Registered.html" doesn't work. I hope you understand me, if you can, fix this for me.
The form element takes the action attribute, not the input:

In general form elements are used to send data to a server. It wraps around the elements which specifies the data, input or button elements, for instance. If you add a name and a value attribute to your input and button elements, you will send this name-value-pair to your server.
If you don’t need to send any (additional) data to your server, just use anchor elements:

<input type="submit" formaction="Registered.html" value="Register">
</form>
The formaction attribute of the input tag is not supported in Internet Explorer 9 and earlier versions.

I suggest you to use <button> for the submit instead of <input> and give the tag an id .

Autocomplete will be overruled by most browsers. A workaround is to change the text Field to text area. Set it to one row high and x letter Width, and it will look almost like a text Field.
I have one page with two separate forms. Most input fields are required. When I click the submit button on the second form, it asks me to fill out the required fields in the first form.
How do I make sure that it only validates the form in which I clicked the submit button?

I think it is because you have not closed <button> tag so it is considering both input type in one form. Close <button> tag.I think it will solve your issue.
I think you will need to use the jqueryvalidation plugin: (http://jqueryvalidation.org/valid/)
Using this plugin, on the click of the respective submit buttons, you just need to call the method:
$("#orderQuick").valid();
and
$("#order").valid();
This should solve your issue.
I am following a tutorial, and now I have this simple code

, this should show a button, but it appears to be a text box. The most weird thing is, I copy paste the exactly same text to my textedit(cover my original ), and it works fine as a button. However, when I try to delete a letter( such as the t in sumbit) and then retype it, it won't work again.
Don't use smart quotes when writing HTML. It won't get interpreted correctly so it just goes with the default input type of of text.

as you can see there are two forms here with two different submit buttons named "next" and "back". The text box is in the form where "next" button is. My question is here how to send the value of this text box to "new1.jsp" clicking "back button" without using javascript. Thanks in advance...
Don't post form to JSPs. Post the to servlets instead, and let the server analyze the parameters and forward to the appropriate JSP depending on which button has been clicked:

Using the above form (which BTW, is valid HTML), the servlet can use the value of the "destination" parameter. If it's "next", it should forward to new3.jsp. If it's back, it should forward to "new1.jsp". And if, for example, you want to redisplay the same page because the user didn't enter a valid value in the text field, it can do so.
That's the well-known MVC pattern. You should use it.
While using IE9, every link (when clicked) the search form is being submitted. Every link seems as if it is redirecting to the action value of the search form.
There is no java script attached to the form element.

The issue was with the order of the form elements. Apparently the original developer decided to place the submit button before any input elements. By putting the submit input last (or removing it) fixed this issue.
