CSS table border-bottom not showing - html

My goal is to add a bottom white line border under the heading in css as such shown in this picture table image. However the border is not appearing. I was watching and coding along a youtube tutorial on html and css. My results were fine until I reached the part where he added the bottom white line border tutorial video at 1hr34min45sec. When I placed the bottom border, it didn't appear.
Any help would be appreciated

In my case, the user-agent style was overriding my css class with border-collapse property. So I had to override it using
table {
border-collapse: collapse;
}

Try to run your code through those validators, specifically:
border-bottom: 1xp solid #F6F6F6; /* shows xp instead of px (pixels) */
https://validator.w3.org/ -- for HTML
https://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/ -- for CSS

Try targeting the tr of the thead so the border fills the full width of your table.
thead tr { border-bottom: 1px solid #FFF; }

Okay I checked out your css there are minor errors in it check out
#user-table th{
border-collapse: collapse;
border-bottom: 1xp solid #F6F6F6; --- should be 1px not 1xp this one here was your main problem this is why the border didn't show up
padding 2px; ----- incorrect should be paddin: 2px;
text-align: center;s --- the s shouldn't be there

I can't change row's background color in table

I can't change rows' background-color; I'd like to have one row red.
Here is my code:

width: 80%;

border-collapse: collapse;

table.cennik-table td {
padding: 0.7rem;

table.cennik-table tr.rowB {

How to set height of tbody and let rows at top not at the center?

How can let the rows at the top (not at the bottom) with fixed tbody height of 500px!

I would clarify it as I get output like this:
But I want it to be like this:

You are not very descriptive on what you want but I'll give it a try.
I think you mean that you want the numbers on top of the list under the name and not in the center of it's entire box.
If so, then one simple solution is to add padding to the bottom of your first row of data (td). The padding should be equal to the height of your liking (warning: if you add more data you will need to adjust the padding).

CSS Rounded corners for table header with background-color

I'm trying to create a table with rounded top corners and a different background color for the header line. I succeeded in making both individually (super beginner in html/css) thanks to online ressources but I fail when it comes to have the two at the same time.
What I mean is (and you can see it in the fiddle below), I can round the corners just fine and have the design I want for my table except that the header background-color is still a perfect rectangle and thus is overflowing outside the rounded corners.
I tried adding the border-radius property in various places but none worked the way I intended. How can I make the corners rounded and having the thead background-color fitting nicely in it ?
table.std {
margin-top: 0.2cm;
width: 100%;
border: 0.03cm solid #8a8a8a;
border-spacing: 0;
border-radius: 15px 15px 0px 0px;
font-size: 10pt;
}
table.std thead {
text-align: left;
background-color: lightgray;
height: 25px;
}
table.std thead tr th:first-child {
padding-left: 0.25cm;
/* To align with section title */
border-bottom: 0.03cm solid #8a8a8a;

CSS Table with custom borders

I'm stuck with a simple table design as i'm from backend I need a table like this
What I have right now
table {
border-collapse: collapse;
width: 100%;
}
tr {
border: none;
}
.first{
width: 40%;
font-family: Quasimoda;
font-size: 0.75em;
color: #1D1D1E;
}
.middle{
width: 60%;
font-family: Quasimoda;
font-size: 0.75em;
color: #1D1D1E;
}
.last{
width: 40%;
font-family: Quasimoda;
font-size: 0.75em;
color: #1D1D1E;
}
td {
border-bottom: 1px solid #ddd;
border-top: 1px solid #ddd;
padding: 10px;
}
<table>
<tr>
<td class="University">January</td>
<td class="middle ">the progress bar will be placed here </td>
<td class="last">870</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="first">January</td>
<td class="middle ">the progress bar will be placed here </td>
<td class="last">560</td>
</tr>
</table>
Please help. I have tried with multiple html table attributes all gone in vain.
Set the thead tr element bottom border, and the right border of the .first element:
table {
border-collapse: collapse;
width: 100%;
}
th {
text-align: left;
border-bottom: 1px solid #ddd;
}
td {
padding: 10px;
font-family: Quasimoda;
font-size: 0.75em;
color: #1D1D1E;
}
.first {
border-right: 1px solid #ddd;
}
.middle {
width: 100%;
}
<table>
<thead>
<tr>
<th colspan="3">Unique values:</th>
</tr>
</thead>
<tbody>
<tr>
<td class="first">January</td>
<td class="middle ">the progress bar will be placed here </td>
<td class="last">870</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="first">January</td>
<td class="middle ">the progress bar will be placed here </td>
<td class="last">560</td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table>
Actually, your picture is not that clear.
I was not clear where you want border actually.
But I try to do this, Run the code snippet and have a look, and let me know if this works for you or not.
.colspan2border
{
border-collapse: collapse;
border-bottom: 1px solid red;
}
.rightBorder
{
border-collapse: collapse;
border-right: 1px solid red;
}
.pr-left1
{
padding-left: 1rem;
}
table
{
border-collapse: collapse;
}
tr
{
border: none;
}
<table>
<tr colspan="2" class='colspan2border'><td>Unique values:</td></tr>
<tr>
<td class="rightBorder pr-left1">University</td>
<td>870</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="rightBorder pr-left1">Custom</td>
<td>560</td>
</tr>
</table>

Button breaking the bottom border

Hello for some reason I have a button that is breaking the bottom border that I have already set in place for my table. I eventually want to do this for all of my rows, but I would like to know how to prevent that from happening. Each row in my table should have a button, but I'd like to keep my borders intact.
table{
color: #26004d;
width: 70%;
margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;
border-collapse: collapse;
font-size: 30px;
}
th, td{
padding: 30px 50px 30px 50px;
border-bottom: 1px solid #862d59;
}
th{
color: black;
}
tr:hover{
background-color: lightgreen;
}
.button{
background-color: #26004d;
color: white;
font-size: 20px;
border:none;
padding: 10px 18px;
text-align: center;
text-decoration: none;
display: table-cell;
}
<div id="inner">
<table>
<thead>
<tr>
<th>Pet</th>
<th>Price</th>
</tr>
</thead>
<tbody>
<tr>
<td>Cat</td>
<td>$10</td>
<td><button class="button">Buy Now</button></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Lion</td>
<td>$40</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Flamingo</td>
<td>$50</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Panda</td>
<td>$1000</td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table>
</div>
So, you must put button into td, because it's in table, but you're applying the border-bottom property to td so you have border under button, if you want to remove it you can add a class no-border and apply it to td in which you have your button so look at code, and you'll have only two columns have border, or another solution is to add <td></td> or <th></th> where appropriate into every <tr>that has no button.
table{
color: #26004d;
width: 70%;
margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;
border-collapse: collapse;
font-size: 30px;
}
th, td{
padding: 30px 50px 30px 50px;
border-bottom: 1px solid #862d59;
}
.no-border{
border:none;
}
th{
color: black;
}
tr:hover{
background-color: lightgreen;
}
.button{
background-color: #26004d;
color: white;
font-size: 20px;
border:none;
padding: 10px 18px;
text-align: center;
text-decoration: none;
display: table-cell;

<td>Lion</td>
<td>$40</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Flamingo</td>
<td>$50</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Panda</td>
<td>$1000</td>

</table>
</div>
Problem: Uneven number of column inside each row.
Solution: Either enter blank <td></td> or use colspan.
