Bootstrap 4 - Two small align images beside a large image - html

I'm trying to achieve this using Bootstrap 4.
(source: imgh.us)
As seen on the image I need 2 columns both having same height, no matter what is the resolution of the pictures inside. The left one is having one big picture and the right one 2 small ones with some gap aligned perfectly to the big one.
Any help would be really appreciated!
My code so far:
HTML:
<div class="row">
<div class="col-lg-6">
<div class="imagebox">
<img class="img-fluid" src="https://placehold.it/1000x1000" alt="">
</div>
</div>
<div class="col-lg-6">
<div class="imagebox">
<img class="img-fluid" src="https://placehold.it/400x600" alt="">
</div>
<div class="spacer30"></div>
<div class="imagebox">
<img class="img-fluid" src="https://placehold.it/400x600" alt="">
</div>
</div>
</div>
CSS:
.imagebox{
overflow: hidden;
width: 100%;
height: auto;
}
.spacer30{
height:30px;
}

It should be something like this.
(Run code snippet and open in full page)
$(document).ready(function() {
var loImage = $('#myHeightImage'),
loSideImages = $('#sideImages');
// http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3877027/jquery-callback-on-image-load-even-when-the-image-is-cached
loImage.on("load", function() {
loSideImages.height(loImage.height());
});
window.onresize = function(event) {
loSideImages.height(loImage.height());
};
});
div.col-md-6 div {
height: 50%;
background-position: center;
background-size: cover;
}
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.11.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<link href="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/3.3.7/css/bootstrap.min.css" rel="stylesheet" integrity="sha384-BVYiiSIFeK1dGmJRAkycuHAHRg32OmUcww7on3RYdg4Va+PmSTsz/K68vbdEjh4u" crossorigin="anonymous"/>
<div class="container">
<div class="row">
<img src="http://lorempixel.com/1280/720/people" id="myHeightImage" class="col-md-6"/>
<div id="sideImages" class="col-md-6">
<div style="background-image: url(http://lorempixel.com/1280/720/animals)"></div>
<div style="background-image: url(http://lorempixel.com/1280/720/nature)"></div>
</div>
</div>
</div>

well #Quanta is correct, gave you a perfect example , if you want to add gap between right images you can add margin-bottom:1px to your right-top image, might help you, check out this snippet
$(document).ready(function() {
var loImage = $('#myHeightImage'),
loSideImages = $('#sideImages');
// http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3877027/jquery-callback-on-image-load-even-when-the-image-is-cached
loImage.on("load", function() {
loSideImages.height(loImage.height());
});
window.onresize = function(event) {
loSideImages.height(loImage.height());
};
});
div.col-md-6 div {
height: 50%;
background-position: center;
background-size: cover;
}
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.11.1/jquery.min.js"></script>

<div class="container">
<div class="row">

<div id="sideImages" class="col-md-6">
<div style="background-image: url(http://lorempixel.com/1280/720/animals);
margin-bottom: 1px;"></div>
<div style="background-image: url(http://lorempixel.com/1280/720/nature)"></div>
</div>
</div>

Twitter Bootstrap Nesting Containers with background image - Responsive

I'm trying to nest containers with Twitter Bootstrap to achieve the following in this screen shot. In the PSD the bubble image height is 404px. I need this to look good across all devices, so responsiveness is a must and should scale accordingly without overwhelming the screen.Could somebody please point me in the right direction to nail the CSS down for this?
I have added what I've done so far in Bootstrap to make this happen but it is off and need to get the containers right. I've read that containers in bootstrap shouldn't be nested but "can be".
I have nested containers but can't seem to achieve what is in the screen shots with Bootstrap.

This needs some styling to get what you want; You can take a look at the left and right margins which are inserted by Bootstrap .container and may want to override them; to get closer to the image you shared, I added some top and bottom margins myself;
Complete working snippet below:
.redBanner {
background: red;

.redBanner p {
margin-bottom: 0;
}
.myExternalContainer {
background-image: url("https://www.akberiqbal.com/Jumbo.jpg");

background-color: lightblue;
padding-bottom: 5%;

Display Text Over Hover in Bootstrap

I'm trying to add text on hover over an image inside a row and col-md-3. I want it to change opacity to set ideal while displaying text in centered inside the image.
I have the opacity hover down but I'm struggling with the data-hover class and I have no clue where to place the text I want inside HTML and CSS
I've included a fiddle here with all the work I have accomplished thus far: https://jsfiddle.net/a8u05mw1/
HTML:

</div>
</div>
</div
</div>
CSS:
#wrapper img {
width: 100%;
transition-duration: 0.8s;
}
.col-md-3 {
padding: 0;
}
#wrapper img:hover {
opacity: 0.8;

Answer 2: With Bootstrap
jsfiddle answer 2
I made a new example inspired with your code, but using tooltips from Booststrap / Popper.js. I used the bootstrap starter template to quickstart the use of Boostrap.

font-size: 20px;

// Enable tooltip everywhere
$(function () {
$('[data-toggle="tooltip"]').tooltip()
})
Explaining Answer 1:
You want two things:
First, center some text over an image.
Then, apply a hover effect on the text so that it only appears when the cursor is hovering the image.
You can get a cool tutorial on how to center text over an image here | w3school.
<div class="container">
<img src="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/e6/61/fe/e661fe4b71debff151e6eb3fcd670bbe.jpg" alt="Snow" style="width:100%;">
<div class="centered">Centered</div>
</div>
.container {
position: relative;
text-align: center;
color: white;
}
.centered {
position: absolute;
top: 50%;
left: 50%;
transform: translate(-50%, -50%);
}
This will give you the following picture:
Warning: Don't be like me. Don't waste your time on a <p>. Use a <div> for the text directly.
<div class="container">
<img src="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/e6/61/fe/e661fe4b71debff151e6eb3fcd670bbe.jpg" alt="Snow" style="width:100%;">
<p class="centered">Not Centered</p>
</div>
Otherwise you will see this:
Ok, now we have our centered text. Time to make it disappear. Let's go back to your code and modify it.
<div class="col-md-3">
<div class="img-container">
<img class="img-responsive" src=https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/e6/61/fe/e661fe4b71debff151e6eb3fcd670bbe.jpg style="width:100%;">
<div class="img-hover-text centered">Your text here</div>
</div>
.img-responsive:hover + .img-hover-text {
display: block;
}
.img-hover-text {
display: none;
color: white;
font-size: 20px;
}
However, if we stop there, something will be wrong. When we hover the cursor right on top of the text area, the text disappear! To correct that, add a last css rule:
/* needed for the text to stay visible
when the cursor it just over it. */
.img-hover-text:hover {
display: block;
}
Explaining answer 2
The idea is not to do the stuff we made by hand, by using a library: namely Popper.js which fortunately is used by Boostrap. We include the tooltip with data-toggle="tooltip" data-placement="auto" title="This is a Tooltip" inside the element we want to display the tooltip on hover. Here inside <img>.
To make is works, we also need to import the necessary library. Don't forget the <script src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/popper.js#1.12.9/dist/umd/popper.min.js" integrity="sha384-ApNbgh9B+Y1QKtv3Rn7W3mgPxhU9K/ScQsAP7hUibX39j7fakFPskvXusvfa0b4Q" crossorigin="anonymous"></script> at the end, just before closing </body> flag.
Done!
Long story short for those looking for a Boostrap answer.
Add a tooltip in the flag you want.
<img src=... data-toggle="tooltip" data-placement="auto" title="This is a Tooltip">
// Enable tooltip everywhere
$(function () {
$('[data-toggle="tooltip"]').tooltip()
})
Don't forget to add Popper.js which is needed for the tooltip.
<script src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/popper.js#1.12.9/dist/umd/popper.min.js" integrity="sha384-ApNbgh9B+Y1QKtv3Rn7W3mgPxhU9K/ScQsAP7hUibX39j7fakFPskvXusvfa0b4Q" crossorigin="anonymous"></script>

inline center three image

In my header I have three logos. I need to center those logoes, where there is a margin between them on around 100 - 140px. I did not know how to do that, so I solved it with putting a margin on 150px, with the result that the logos are not placed on mobile devices.
On the mobile they should be vertical instead of horizontal.
I actually thought I could do it like this:
display: inline;
margin: 0 auto;
But that is not doing abything at all. Does anybody knows how I can solve this, so they also fit on mobile devices?
<div class="fullscreen landing parallax">
<div class="overlay">
<div class="container">
<div class="row">
<div class="col-md-12 logo">
<!-- /.logo -->
<img src="/img/seminar/company_1-logo-white-small.png" alt="company_1" class="logo">
<img src="/img/seminar/company_2-white.png" alt="company_2">
<img src="/img/seminar/company_3-white.png" alt="company_3">
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
CSS
.logo {
margin: 20px 0 15px 0;
}
.logo img{
margin-left: 160px;
width: 163px;
}
Try to separate the row into 3 columns and place the images inside the column with bootstrap's text-center class. Bootstrap will align images vertically on mobile UI.
On iPad horizotal
On iPad vertical
On desktop browser

Add this:
.logo {
display:flex;
justify-content:center;
align-items:center;
}
You'll probably need to set a width on the .logo element and maybe `margin:0 auto;' too depending on its width.

Bootstrap 3.2 Col Margins

I have been hitting a area which I dont belive is coverd in the bootstrap documentation which is to add margins to col in bootstrap.
To fix this I used the following code but the issue is the centre box is always smaller then the outer two.
Does anyone have a fix to this?
HTML
<div class="row">
<div class="col-lg-4">
<div id="lightBlueFix" class="marginBoxes noMarginLeft">
<div class="clearBoth"></div>
</div>
</div>
<div class="col-lg-4">
<div id="lightGrey" class="marginBoxes">
</div>
</div>
<div class="col-lg-4">
<div id="lightYellow" class="marginBoxes noMarginRight">
</div>
</div>
</div>
CSS
.marginBoxes {
margin-left: 20px;
margin-right: 20px;
}
.noMarginLeft{
margin-left:0 !important;
}
.noMarginRight{
margin-right:0 !important;
}
Live Preview #
As suggested in the comments, I'd leave Bootstrap alone and make the boxes separate, possibly something along these lines:
#lightBlueFix { background-color: blue; }
#lightGrey { background-color: grey; }
#lightYellow { background-color: yellow; }
.bannerBox {
margin-left: 20px;
margin-right: 20px;
}

CSS - How to code fluid DIV columns, that reacts to display changes with Bootstrap 3?

I'm straggling with a simple layout issue:
Basically my goal is to create a toggled side menu. When the side menu is visible the main layout is 80% width, and when it is not visible the main layout would be 100% width, like so:
I'm using bootstrap 3 and would like to use their CSS markup, so I can add rows and columns to the main div (Lt-orange in the illustration).
Any help would be appreciated :)
EDIT:
Here is my progress so far:
<div class="container">
<div id="sidebar" style="border:solid 1px;width:20%;float:left">SIDEBAR</div>
<div style="border:solid 1px;width:100%">
<div style="border:solid 1px red">
<div class="row">
<div class="col-lg-6">Some Content</div>
<div class="col-lg-6">
<div class="row">
<div class="col-lg-12">Some content</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<button onclick="document.getElementById('sidebar').style.display = document.getElementById('sidebar').style.display == 'none' ? 'block':'none'">TOGGLE</button>
Demo
Actually, you can't use 20% because bootstrap grid size works with 12s. Which means 100%=12/12 so 1/12 is 8,33% is the smallest unit. What is closest to you is for the sidebar to be 3/12=25%. Giving you code for this:
<div class="row">
<div class="col-xs-12 col-sm-3">
sidebar content
</div>
<div class="col-xs-12 col-sm-9">
main content here
<div class="row">
<div class="col-xs-12">
your 100% main content here
</div>
</div
</div>
I assume the bottom photo shows how it will look on a mobile device..?
I was working on a similar kind of solution, below is the snippet of code that works for me
below is the file (test.php)
<!doctype html>
<html>
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8">
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0">
<title>Toggle Demo</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="PATH TO/bootstrap.min.css">
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="PATH/demo.css">
<script type="text/javascript" src="PATH/respond.min.js"></script>
</head>
<body>
<div class="container">
<div class="row" >
<div class="col-sm-3 side20" > This is side content</div>
<div class="col-sm-9 main80">This is the main content.</div>
</div>
<button class="btn btn-default" role="button">Toggle</button>
<div class="row" >
<div class="col-sm-3 side20" >n</div>
<div class="col-sm-9 main80" >This is the main content</div>
</div>
<footer class="row">
<div class="col-xs-6 copyright">
&copy Toggle Demo - <?php echo date('Y');?>
</div>
<div class="col-xs-6 design">
<small>Designed by Learner</small>
</div>
</footer>
</div>
<!-- JavaScript -->
<script src="PATH TO/jquery-1.11.0.js"></script>
<script src="PATH TO/bootstrap.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="PATH TO/custom.js"></script>
</body>
</html>
The sample css is (demo.css)
.container{
width: 100%;
background: #0081c2;
}
.side20{
background: #3e8f3e;
}
.col-sm-3{
display: block;
background: #3e8f3e;
height: 200px;
border: solid 2px #000000;
}
.main80{
background: #8D0D19;
height: 200px;
border: solid 2px #000000;
}
.col-sm-12{
background: #8D0D19;
}
footer{
min-height: 50px;
background: #010102;
border-radius: 3px;
}
.copyright{
text-align: center;
line-height: 50px;
color: #fff;
}
.design{
text-align: right;
line-height: 50px;
color: #FFF4B9;
}
And the toggle function is achieved by the below jQuery script (custom.js)
$(".btn").on("click", function(){
$(".col-sm-3").toggle();
$(".main80").toggleClass("col-sm-12");
$(".main80").toggleClass("col-sm-9");
});
Hope this helps. Happy coding!!
Found a CSS only solution , basically I'm using table display:
HTML + CSS:
<div class="container">
<div style="display:table;width:100%;border:solid 1px red;height:100px">
<div style="display:table-row">
<div id="side" style="display:table-cell;background:#CCC;width:30%">SIDE</div>
<div style="display:table-cell">
<div class="row">
<div class="col-xs-6">6 col</div>
<div class="col-xs-6">6 col</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<button class="btn btn-primary" onclick="toggle()">TOGGLE</button>
here is a JS fiddle, that toggles the display of the cell
