Proxy server for Gatling - google-chrome

Recently I installed Gatling for performance testing on Ubuntu 14.04. And to run the recorder I needed to configure a proxy server in my browser. I tried to change proxy settings in Google chrome, but I don`t have rights. So I tried to do it using network settings in Ubuntu (Network -> Network proxy). But when I open a website which I need to test, nothing happens in the recorder.
So I do not really know is there a problem with the proxy server or Gatling itself? And how to check if the proxy server is configured correctly?
I would appreciate any help!

It's a bit too late, but I had a similar problem today. Was able to solve only by setting global IP address like xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. Nor localhost nor 127.0.0.1 worked for me Chrome. After that I was able to notice http requests in Recorder inside Executed Events
Hopefully it could help somebody else

How do you fix "Your connections isn’t private" when opening with the Google Chrome browser?

I'm debugging a local site.
I'm getting the following message in chrome.
Your connection is not private
Attackers might be trying to steal your information from t.buyamerica.com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards). Learn more
NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID
This is not new, and normally I just click ADVANCED and Procced ...
but lately it just stuck in a loop and display the error message again.
This is a local site therefore the key-pair is indeed invalid, but is there a way to by-pass this issue without installing a proper https for all my local (vagrant based) servers?
NOTE:
The current by-pass for me is to use the same domain as the original site, so that the local site is www.somesite.com, and the actual site is somesite.com
I solved this issue as follow:
In
System Preference -> Network -> WiFi -> Advanced -> Proxies I saw that Secure Http Proxy (HTTPS) is checked and the value for the proxy is localhost:8888
I unchecked the Secure Http Proxy (HTTPS) and it seems to solve the issue.
NOTE: this is a specific MAC issue that apparently caused by a system upgrade (my current version is 10.10.5 (14F2511) Yosemite, MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2012))
I never set a proxy server or run any proxy on localhost:8888
You change your local domain something like http://yourdomain.test.
Don't forget the 'http'. And if you're using .dev, change it to .test

Can't log in to an app running on LocalHost - no network activity?

I'm working on an app with a team. They are able to log in fine when running it on their local servers, however when I try to do so I get 'Invalide username / password' and no network activity or console errors in dev tools.
I have no idea why this could be, we're working on the exact same code - clearly it's something on my machine.
Has anyone come across anything like this before?
(Have tried other browsers and still nothing).
Maybe you need to check your server instalation on your machine.
For example, if you are using XAMPP to manage your Apache maybe there is some configuration that was set in the wrong way.
My advice is, save your code and re-install your server, pay attention to all configuration details and see if the problem is solved.

Using getUserMedia() on insecure origins in Chrome

I am developing a webpage that uses camera. When I test in Chrome in my local network, camera doesn't work and I get warning in the console:
getUserMedia() no longer works on insecure origins. To use this feature, you should consider switching your application to a secure origin, such as HTTPS. See link for more details.
In the link provided there is an instruction to set some flags in Chrome. So I tried. My command looks like this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --unsafely-treat-insecure-origin-as-secure="192.168.0.15" --user-data-dir=c:\chrome-dev-profile
But when I run Chrome I get this message:
You are using an unsupported command-line flag: --unsafely-treat-insecure-origin-as-secure. Stability and security will suffer.
What am I doing wrong?
Is there another way I can test in local network without setting up https server? I need this just for development.

I've run into this bug just yesterday. I have not found out how to get Chrome to honor that flag on the command line yet. But I did find a workaround that works for my case.
I'm running my web services on a Linux machine that is running an ssh server. I'm testing on windows with chrome, and used putty to connect to the linux box from windows and then created a "local port forward" to make my remote linux box's ipaddress:port appear on localhost:port on windows. Depending on your platform this workaround may work for you. This approach isn't too cumbersome if you only have a few ports to forward.
In my particular case my setting for putty looked like
L8080 localhost:8080

Remote Debugging won't connect

I sort of make shift followed this guide on how to setup remote debugging. Since I am using Adobe Animate to compile my app I assume it has done the majority of the build steps already as I get a similar screen described.
I don't understand though. Here I have port forwarding up on my router so that it goes to my PC. I have TCP port 7935 up and open. Windows firewall on or off doesn't seem to make difference. Windows firewall even prompted me to allow or deny fdb after I ran it. I can't get my phone to connect via remote debugging. I want to be able to send this to my client who is having issue with the app so I can see what's going on under the hood instead of relying on a giant sum of try/catch statements and screenshots. Any help?
I tried a dummy domain and it seems to know that it can't connect to it. When I try mine or my IPv4 it doesn't let me connect. It just freezes up the app.
I don't know whether it works or not in Animate CC, but it works via Flash Builder. I'm using Android real device and I have Android SDK tools installed on my PC

First: Simply connect your device to your PC
Actually , you can debug your app remotely as long as your device has been connected with your PC. This step, doesn't necessarily requires FDB.
In my case , all I need was things like
adb connect 192.168.xx.xx:port
this will connect your Android device with your PC on your default network .
Second, set debug setting over network
You've done it in Animate CC, with addition you might want to check "install application on the connected device'
Third, just debug as usual
You can get all those debugging stuff including traces

VisualSVN messed up my localhost in Chrome

EDIT:
The localhost seem to be working fine in my firefox, IE and even Chrome's incognito mode. These is a problem specific to chrome. Any ideas?

I just uninstalled VisualSVN Server from my Windows 7. But now when I try to hit localhost, I get redirected to localhost/svn. I am using WAMP and developing something that requires the root access. I can not put the project in a sub directory. I have also tried netstat -ao but no process is using ports 80 or 443.
You may have solved the problem....but for future, those who came here like me looking for a solution to this, this seems to be a prob for browser cache....clearing browser cache history solves the problem.....did for me...
If you uninstalled VisualSVN Server, then it's some other application which runs on 80 / 443 port that redirects you to /svn. Some steps that may help you to determine the root cause:
Verify that VisualSVN Server has been successfully uninstalled.
Start appwiz.cpl and see whether VisualSVN Server is listed as the installed application,
Start services.msc and see whether "VisualSVN Server" service is listed.
Run netstat -anbv and see which app runs on HTTP(S) port.
