I've installed powerlevel9k on zshell. How do I install glyphs for my terminal?
I've tried installing font-awesome and I've set POWERLEVEL9K_MODE='awesome-fontconfig' but it still doesn't work.
Also what is awesome-fontconfig? If it's a config file, do I have to create one after I download font-awesome? Where do I put this config file?
You need to:
Install the font.
Configure your terminal emulator to use that font.
Tell P9k what font configuration to use.
It sounds like you've done steps 1 and 3, but perhaps not step 2? More information is on the P9k wiki: https://github.com/bhilburn/powerlevel9k/wiki/Install-Instructions#step-2-install-a-powerline-font

I usually use rvm, but also need to work with a custom Ruby build. I understand that when I go to the RubyMine "Settings", "Languages & Frameworks", "Ruby SDK and Gems" dialog, I need to press "+" and select "New Local with Custom Configurator".
On that dialog, the Ruby interpreter path is self explanatory, but I don't know which environment variables I need to specify in the "Custom Configurator" session. What information needs to go there?
I am using RubyMine 2021.1 on both Mac OS and Linux. I need to be able to debug, which means that when RubyMine installs the debug support gems, they need to go to the right location, and be found from that location.
It turned out that all I needed to specify there was my GEM_HOME:
env GEM_HOME=/opt/my-custom-ruby/gems/2.7.0
I was surprised that I didn't also need to explicitly set the path to the directory containing the Ruby interpreter (for commands other than ruby, such as bundle), but I guess RubyMine does that for me. Or, maybe it doesn't, and I just haven't encountered an error yet.
Edit: It turns out I did have an issue with a gem not being found. I added to that env command and the problem went away, but I'm not really sure yet if that was the issue or if adding both GEM_PATH and PATH were necessary. Here is what I wound up with:
env GEM_HOME=/opt/my-custom-ruby/gems/2.7.0 GEM_PATH=/opt/my-custom-ruby/gems/2.7.0 PATH=/opt/my-custom-ruby/bin/ruby:$PATH
EDIT 2021-12-24
I just tried this again on a new installation and the above did not work. I was getting build errors saying that I needed to install the development tools. It turned out that when specifying the path in the
Custom Configurator field I needed to include the path for the gcc compiler. I just put most of the paths in my login PATH value there, and the gem installation succeeded.
Hi I'm creating project according to Tutorial on Ratchet website.
I installed zeromq version 0.3.0 through composer in phpstorm.(I checked if I installed right zeromq with phpinfo() and also with php-m in terminal)
In file post.php I cannot create new object of class ZMQContext(). - php storm cannot find this class.
I found the same issue on stackoverflow but solution is for linux.I'm using win.
When I want to use this in code: use React\ZMQ. - I don't see there class ZMQContext
Thanks for answer.
You can get PHPStorm to auto-complete code that uses the ZMQ PHP extension.
Save this stub file: https://gist.github.com/Mikulas/c22e44a918c7af5de5e6
I saved it (on OSX) under /Applications/PhpStorm EAP.app/Contents/plugins/php/lib/extensions/zmq.php
Then go to PHPStorm > Preferences > Languages & Frameworks > PHP > include path and add that extensions folder.
Now go back to your file and you'll see PHPStorm auto-completing stuff from the ZMQ extension.
Have fun! I hope you'll find this useful.
It looks like you've installed the PHP PECL extension. You also need to install the ZeroMQ library on your system that ext-zmq will use. If you're an a Debian based system try sudo apt-get install libzmq-dev or a RH based system sudo yum install zeromq zeromq-devel.
I'm a brand new coder trying to wean myself off of the Codecademy web environment. I'm using Sublime Text 3 in tandem with Sublime Linter 3 in order to approximate the real-time error-checking to which I've become accustomed from Codecademy's site.
I know that each linter needs to be installed separately in ST3 and I've successfully integrated "csslint" and "jshint". Both work properly.
Now, I'm trying to get an html linter to error-check my html code and I can only seem to find "HTML Tidy", which I have installed via package control. Unlike the aforementioned linters, which simply require a pre-defined command line string for input at terminal, online tutorials have me installing "HTML tidy" via a winrar executable.
Now I am regrouping and would greatly appreciate any feedback you can provide that might move me incrementally closer to having a working HTML linter. I am using a windows xp computer. Many kind thanks for your help.
According to the Installation Instructions for the plugin, there is a Windows binary for Tidy available here.
For some background, Tidy is a command line tool that comes pre-installed with Mac and Linux but not Windows. Downloading the binary mentioned here and placing it in your path will allow it to be run. To check where it should be placed, run echo %path% from the command line.
Once that is there it will work. To see the available arguments to be run with Tidy, run tidy -help from the command line. These arguments can be added to "args" linter settings.
Just copy tiny.exe to folder C:\Windows\System32\, and restart ST3.
I just downloaded PhpStorm 5 on my quite fresh ubuntu.
During the first start I installed a couple of plug-ins.
Now - after the installation of those plug-ins - PhpStorm is not starting up anymore.
No splash screen is showing up. No error gets written on the terminal:
gue#ubuntu:~$ phpstorm
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.7-b01, mixed mode)
gue#ubuntu:~$
What shall I do with that drunken sailor?
I can't find any logfiles, no configuration file/directory in my home directory.
Since I'm used to Eclipse I've no clue where to look for a trace in this IntelliJ derivate...
If you're on Windows deleting the following directory helped me:
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\JetBrains\
Some plug-ins can cause problems and prevent IDE from starting, if it happens, you should delete the directory containing plug-in manually. Location of this directory depends on the system and product, details are available in the FAQ.
For PhpStorm on Linux it would be ~/.WebIde50/config/plugins.
This happend to me too, I had created a custom vmoptions file, and entered incorrect values. I fixed it by deleting it in ~/.WebIde50/phpstorm.vmoptions
i had the same problem , i fixed it just with removing the file C:\Users\.PhpStorm2016.2
In linux, I fixed it by deleting vmoptions file of PhpStorm and then launching it again:
mv ~/.config/JetBrains/PhpStorm*/phpstorm64.vmoptions ~/.config/JetBrains/PhpStorm*/__phpstorm64.vmoptions
It might be possible if openjdk is installed then phpstorm not opened.
So remove first then follow steps that given in below link.
I solve the problem same way.
wiki.jetbrains.net/intellij/Installing_and_running_PHPStorm_on_Ubuntu
Here is how you fix this: Rename C:\Users\USERNAME.PhpStorm2016.3 to something else (anything, like PhpStorm2016.whatever) , it will start the program if you click on the phpStorm icon, then choose to import settings, and you're good to go ;)
I am using PhpStorm2020.2.1. I referred to Configuration directory. I accessed the folder %AppData%\JetBrains\PhpStorm2020.2, renamed it just in case I may need some files in future.
Voila! I can start my PhpStorm2020.2.1 again!
I had this problem yesterday and my OS is windows 10. phpStorm suddenly did not work and when I click on it nothing happened. I just downloaded JDK from this link (https://www.oracle.com/java/technologies/javase-downloads.html) and after installation, I set the environment value in the system setting for my java directory. You can use this link to set the environment (https://javatutorial.net/set-java-home-windows-10)
For me I had to remove all cache for the IDE located in:
~/.cache/JetBrains/
I have changed the VMOptions under the Help menu on MacOS and it just would not start up again. It just silently failed every time. I found the file at /Applications/PhpStorm.app/Contents/MacOS/phpstorm and ran it in the terminal, which gave me an output with the following error:
Invalid ReservedCodeCacheSize=3072M. Must be at most 2048M.
Luckily, it also gave me the path to the VMOptions file in one of the rows of the output, parseVMOptions: /Users/barnabas/Library/Application Support/JetBrains/PhpStorm2022.3/phpstorm.vmoptions in my case, so I could change it back to a valid configuration. Crisis averted.
Simple
Go to your task manager
end any task on php-storm
and restart the ide again
it will work
Open Terminal Linux Ubuntu 20.10
YOU#USER:~$ cd ~/.config
YOU#USER:~/.config$ ls
Obs: Locate the >>> JetBrains <<< folder, after that delete it your default app settings will disappear more it will open again
YOU#USER:~/.config$ sudo rm -rf JetBrains/
Open PHPSTORM
As the title says.
The linter doesnt seem to work at all for me in Windows. I have tried it with javascript and php files with the correct syntax set.
Im following Jeffery Ways tutorial here -> https://tutsplus.com/lesson/sublime-linter/
I have installed package control,
SublimeLinter and nothing, removed it
installed sublimelinter beta and nothing too.
Any help please
From SublimeLinter's github page:
"If you plan to edit files that use a Javascript-based linter (Javascript, CSS), your system must have a Javascript engine installed... On Windows, you must install the Javascript engine Node.js, which can be downloaded from the Node.js site."
Node.js
Install it like a normal Windows application. Close Sublime and restart. Linting should be working.
You need to point the SublimeLinter to your PHP executable file in the SublimeLinter.sublime-settings.
Change this option:
"sublimelinter_executable_map":
{
"php": "C:\\wamp\\bin\\php\\php5.3.13\\php.exe"
},

In order to get SublimeLint linting js files, I had to follow the instructions here and install this additional plugin:
(I didn't need to follow the 'Linter configuration' step)
