How to make mysql insert data automatically

recently I've been introduced into the database world so I am initiating with MySQL, but the problem comes when I am requested to create a database for an art event where adults and children have different entrance costs but like I'm not working with other applications, I have to do everything with SQL instructions so as this language has not -if- instructions I would like you to guide me how to do to assign automatically the cost of an entrance when I register an adult or a child inside a column called "entrance cost"
I have thinking to create an entity called "rate" where I place the maximum age with lower cost (for children) and otherwise assign the cost for adults, but I don't know how to make to compare this data when I register an entrance and assign the cost to the user variable "entrance"
I'm really confused with this exercise so I hope you can get it and help me with that.
Thanks in advance.
I think you need to create one master table to configure rates. and eventually, when you add user entrance data, you can map this with rates from master table.
Let's say we have RateMaster Table(RateId, MinAge, MaxAge, Rate).
You add multiple rate records here with MinAge, MaxAge.
UserEntrance Data will have age mentioned for user and you can refer their rates from RateMaster table.
Let me know if this helped.
In a nutshell, you need to work with another language. You can't do a dinamic application using only SQL.
I'd recommend you to use Spring Boot (http://spring.io/projects/spring-boot) with Java or Kotlin. It's a very straightforward framework that will help you a lot, even if you're a starter.

How to synchronize product stock data between different databases in MySQL?

I´m working on a joomla website (Virtuemart 2.0.6 webshop) and the plan is to make 2 or maybe even 3 seperate webshops with different domain names and databases but the owner uses the same warehouse for all the shops.
So I´m searching to find a way to syncronize the product stock in multiple Virtuemart shops.
Basically I´m looking for way to only share one specific table field between the shops.
Specifically in Virtuemart 2.xx the product stock data is stored in the table:
"jos_virtuemart_products"
field name: "product_in_stock"
I have looked everywhere for the answer to this one, but I haven´t found anything I could use to solve this problem.
You are going to have to code a custom plugin to do this if you want to have different product names, descriptions, and prices. In any case, it is going to take a custom plugin to achieve your synchronization.
Probably the best way to do it is write a plugin that updates the other sites when an order is completed.

How to approach dilemma: export orders from old magento system import into new magento, overlapping IDs

During an upgrade from Magento 1.5 to 1.7 unfortunately we had to reinstall Magento (don't ask) and now I need to get all of the old order information into the live upgrade. I've researched several scenarios. First would be identifying the tables in the database they correspond to and migrating those tables over, but I have three issues with that. One: I already did a little bit of that and because of the discrepancies between 1.5 and 1.7 caused several hours of debugging fun. Two: I can't figure out specifically which of these freaking tables needs updating (was going to just replace all sales_ tables). Third: since the upgrade other orders have been placed, and as you know, started order ids all over again and I don't want those entries to get replaced.
My other choice is to attempt to build an extension like this one: http://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/dataflow-batch-import-export-orders-to-csv-xml.html. I already started but alas am already stuck on the oAuth process.
Before I waste anymore time, I'd like some advice. What would be the best way to go about this process?
Update 1-17
I have tried UNION queries on applicable tables but of course I get error "#1062 - Duplicate entry '1' for key 'PRIMARY'" being there are several primary keys. Is there a query to increment those primary keys of the new orders to follow after the ids of the old orders? I tried to do this in individual columns via UPDATE sales_flat_invoice_grid
SET increment_id = (increment_id+6150) or similar, but the ids are mapped to the ids on other tables! Please help! I'm afraid I'm going to have to tell boss that we need to buy that extension.
Continued from comment above ^^
hmmm .. If that's the case, the way I've done exports/imports in the past (see my post HERE) is use MySQL Workbench EER Modeling tool to create myself a diagram of the order storage system. I would select only one table at first, then MySQL will tell you what other tables are tied to that table. I repeat this process so that in my EER diagram, I don't have unnecessary tables, and I am not missing tables. I end up with exactly the number of tables I need to understand the flow.
Next, do the same for your 1.7 setup ... And compare. You will need to generate a SQL query that will not only INSERT the 1.5 orders into the 1.7 database, but you may need to create your own link table in case there is an ID that is used, you may need to link X to Y by way of Z. It's messy, and a little confusing, but I spent 3 weeks writing a SQL/PHP script that pulled 1) Product Data, 2) Category Data, 3) Customer Data and 4) Order Data. I also wrote one for Admin backend users and preferences. This was before I discovered the aforementioned tool.
EDIT I might add , that extension is only $200.00. How much in development time is it going to cost your employer for you to develop your way out of this? Depending on your hourly cost (I know with what I charge, $200 would be a steal) it may make more sense to get the extension.

Get all possible configurable product SKU's and option SKU's from Magento Database

I'm not a coder (just a script fiddler) and I've got a particular problem with Magento that I cannot explain in terms of code or data, so I need to explain the situation.
I sell configurable products that come in an array of options. These are furniture products that use various codes that describe the final SKU of the product. I've never fully written or listed every possible SKU outside of any e-commerce product I've used, but always used the in-app options, in Magento's case, custom options, to create an SKU as the customer orders the product.
Now I'm facing a nightmare as I'm finally getting a QuickBooks solution mapped out for our company, but I need to get a file with every possible SKU# to import into QB, so that we can use a download routine (ecc) to grab all the orders from Magento and pop them into QB without having to create each new product on the fly. Each one of my products has the following choices:
BaseSKU#
FinishColorSKU#
FabricComboSKU#
FabricColorSKU#
So, for instance, I sell a chair. The chair's base SKU# is 708. The chair comes in 7 finishes, each with it's own code, so now I have 7 SKU's. Each chair+finish comes in 5 fabric combination styles. Not actual fabric, just the way it's applied to the chair. So 7*5=35 is no problem. Now it starts to get tricky. 2 of those fabric combo styles use only 1 fabric. We have 60 fabrics. 35*60=2100. At this point, this is not impossible to create in excel, a bunch of copying and pasting, but it can be done. Now the other three fabric combo styles use 2 fabrics. I need to create a SKU for every possible combination of fabric. So 60*60=3600 possible combinations of the fabrics alone. Now combine that with 35 different chair+finish combo, that's 126,000 possible SKU's for one product. Multiply that times 300 products, there is no way I could do this by hand in Excel. The final SKU looks like these:
One color chair:
708-117-SC-5708
Chair708+Frame117+SingleColor+Color5708
Two color chair:
708-117-DC-5708-5709
Chair708+Frame117+DualColor+Color5708+Color5709
Now, since these possible combinations exist in the Magento Database, just not combined, is there any way to programmatically create all possible combinations and lump them into an Excel file, or csv, or ANYTHING? Is this possible in Excel? Maybe I just need to download the database, export the right table to Excel and do it there.
Any help would be really appreciated.
EDIT: Was thinking about this, and maybe the simplest way to ask this question would be:
How to make Magento output a list of all possible products and options?
You can use the export functionnality: System -> export/import -> dataflow - profiles -> Export All Products. It's pretty straight-forward to use, but feel free to ask if you need more help.
