How to nest a table within a table? - html

I've seen a similar topic, but not for my specific situation. I need to nest a table within the table and it will take up several cells, but when I try to nest a table it deletes the surrounding table at the same time. I included a picture of how it should look after my code and my code is how it looks currently. Can someone explain how this is done? Much appreciated.

PS: I am new to HTML so if you have any feedback on my code feel free to include. Always looking to learn and improve.
The align="right" attribute on your table was breaking the layout but this has been deprecated and shouldn't be used. I've used margin-inline: auto 0 on your table instead that pushes the table to the right. Here's a good video from Kevin Powell to help you. If you're new to HTML and CSS his videos are a very good introduction.

Bootstrap column overlapping text on mobile

I am very new to Bootstrap (as in less than a week's experience), and I have run into an annoying little problem. Upon resize, the text inside one of my columns begins to sort of slide under the column below it. I have tried placing the text in it's own container and changing all containers to .container from .container-fluid, but nothing seems to work.
The website can be accessed here and the relevant code snippets are below

Remove the height: 600px; from your col-sm-7. Perhaps you want a min-height? Since you are forcing it to always be 600px high, the div below it will overlap it when the content in the col-sm-7 is more than 600px.

Head first html and css 2nd edition p627 unexpected vertical border

I have been reading the book of head first html and CSS 2nd and I found on Page627 there are unexpected vertical showed in a table. Could anyone tell me what is the problem.
Here is the html and CSS code:
#font-face {
font-family: "Emblema One";

}
body {
font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, sans-serif;
font-size: small;

h1,
h2 {

I saw some Burma Shave style signs on the side of the road today:

<blockquote>
<p>
Passing cars, <br> When you can't see, <br> May get you, <br> A glimpse, <br> Of eternity. <br>
</p>
</blockquote>
<p>
I definitely won't be passing any cars.

<p><img src="images/segway1.jpg" alt="The first day of the trip"></p>
<p>
My first day of the trip! I can't believe I finally got everything packed and ready to go. Because I'm on a Segway, I wasn't able to bring a whole lot with me:
</p>
<ul>
<li>cellphone</li>
<li>iPod</li>
<li>digital camera</li>
<li>and a protein bar</li>
</ul>
<p>
Just the essentials. As Lao Tzu would have said, <q>A journey of a
thousand miles begins with one Segway.</q>
</p>
<!--
<p>
To do list:
</p>
<ul>
<li>Charge Segway</li>
<li>Pack for trip
<ul>
<li>cellphone</li>
<li>iPod</li>
<li>digital camera</li>
<li>a protein bar</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>

Placing column headings over the column without a border?

I need to place the column headings over the columns without the borders around them. Ideally the table should look like the picture I include in this post, but it's smushed and I'm not really sure why because I don't do tables often. Any idea what's gone wrong? Any help is appreciated.

You're looking for the CSS border-collapse property. Remove the width: 60%; declaration from td, th and add:
table {
width: 100%;
border-collapse: collapse;
}
I also added a .drink-name selector to ease the job of centering certain table cells while left-aligning others. Feel free to change the padding I added to each cell as you see fit.
To make the columns equal-width, you should add:
td[colspan="2"] {
width: 33.333%;
}

First of all, close your thead and tbody tags properly and then add this code in your css. here is jsfiddle: https://jsfiddle.net/ohtduqso/
table {
border-collapse: collapse;
border: 1px solid black;
}
td,
th {
border: 1px solid black;
font-size: 1.3em;
width: 60%;
margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;
}
th {
border-left: none;
border-right: none;
}
https://jsfiddle.net/v86x4ehh/1/
just add these classes to your css
table tr:nth-child(2){
border:none;
}
table{
border-collapse:collapse;
border:1px solid black;
}

How do I format table headers with a specific design?

I'm working on an assignment where we have to create a website that is formatted similarly to a picture of a resume. The picture is here: link
I have most of the formatting correctly, but there are a couple things I can't figure out. First of all, how do I create a table header style similar to the one in the image?
Also, how can I make the name and picture area into a block and add those two borders?
Oh, and how come my icons for my list turned out to be chinese characters, I copied the code for the sideways triangle, but it came out as that. And the codes weren't working for the phone/email either so I ended up using a picture of them instead.

Line break is defined as <br> not </br>

You don't need to write <br> between everything, Just type spaces, HTML will ignore them. This is not python!

All Errors Fixed.
The Chinese text problem is here:
ul li:before {
content: '\9654';
margin: 0 1em;
}
Just delete :
ul {
list-style: none;
padding: 0px;
}
ul li:before {
content: '\9654';
margin: 0 1em;
}
If you want using Bullet with symbol, you can use it:
For a circle:
ul {
list-style-type: circle;
}
For a Square:
ul {
list-style-type: square;
}
For using image:
ul {
list-style-image: url('your-image.png');
}
You can't always use tables for design a layout on the website.
First, try learn some CSS for layout element, like margin, padding, float, or clear.
I hope this can help you.
