Countif for counting data for a month - countif

I have a data and have applied Count if formula to get the number, but need to filter more for a month which is not working for me. Now i have dates in Column F, and need to include it for the month of January for the below applied formula.
=COUNTIFS('Joiners Base Data'!C:C,A2,'Joiners Base Data'!O:O,C2)

I got the answer.
=COUNTIFS('Joiners Base Data'!C:C,A8,'Joiners Base Data'!O:O,"IT",'Joiners Base Data'!AQ:AQ,">="&DATE(2017,3,1),'Joiners Base Data'!AQ:AQ,"<"&DATE(2017,4,1))

Calculate difference between multiple group columns in SSRS Report

First post in stackoverflow - so forgive me if I don't get this right. I have an SSRS report with a matrix which groups Quantity, Total Spend and Average Cost by part number for each year. Part Number and description down the left and the the years along the top. I want to add a delta column in each year after the first year which shows the change in price from the previous year. I have seen examples of how to get the difference between first and last year - but not the difference between each year and the previous one. I have hidden the delta column for the first year - no would love some guidance on how to calculate the difference in cost.
So from the image below the first row in the delta column under FY2019 would show -€0.01 as price has reduced from 0.59 to 0.58.
You haven't explained how if Avg. Cost is calculated in your report but I'm assumming it's just something like =SUM(Fields!Spend.Value) / SUM(Fields!Qty.Value)
You've not shown your report design so I can't tell what your row/column groups are called but I'll assume you have rowgroup by Part and one by Year. Let's assume your column group name is PeriodID so it's the same as my demo report.
In this case you can use the PREVIOUS() function to get the previous values to compare against.
I set up a similar report to demonstrate. As you can see in my case the year column is grouped using a columngroup called PeriodID
The expressions highlighted are as follows.
Price. This is just Cost/Qty =SUM(Fields!Cost.Value)/SUM(Fields!Qty.Value)
lastprice. This is just for illustration and debugging. It uses the PREVIOUS() fucntion to get the previous year's data
=Previous(Sum(Fields!Cost.Value), "PeriodID") / Previous(Sum(Fields!Qty.Value), "PeriodID")
Note that "PeriodID" is the name of the column group (case sensitive). This is scope for the previous function so it know to get data from the previous column group.
delta. This is the final output. It's just the current "Price" expression minus the "lastprice" expression.
=(Sum(Fields!Cost.Value) / Sum(Fields!Qty.Value)) - (Previous(Sum(Fields!Cost.Value), "PeriodID") / Previous(Sum(Fields!Qty.Value), "PeriodID"))
The final output looks like this (I've not hidden the column for the first column group or hidden last price, just so you can see it working). Also, if you see slight differences in the delta column compared to what you might expect, it's just down to the fact that the numbers are formatted to 2 decimals but my test data is up to 14 decimals.

How to define Row Data group in SSRS if we have two parameters to be considered?

Im new to SSRS reporting. Im trying to edit in *.rdl file, where it has row data grouping to view data for a month.
eg: =Fields!EndOfMonth.Value
Here EndofMonth will return September 30th /October 31st etc. So table is grouped by one month data.
I need to edit this for a custom data range.
eg: startdate='2019-09-05', enddate='2019-10-12'
So, report table should display rows between September 5th to October 12th.
I have both startdate enddate parameters defined in the *.rdl file.
But I dont know, how i can switch between both date ranges based on condition. that is , if companyid<>50 pick custom range else standard.
eg:
I defined like this, but here i could point only one parameter(i used enddate only).So report shows rows between October 1st to 12th only.
How can I modify the condition?
=IIF(Parameters!CompanyId.Value<>50,Fields!EndofMonth.Value, Parameters!EndDate.Value)
EDIT
I have 2 datasets defined to switch between companyids.
I modified above condition based on Nicks answer, but i get lookup function can not be used with functions issue.
I tried following both way, but getting same rows again and again
=IIF(Parameters!CompanyId.Value<>50,Fields!EndofMonth.Value,
IIF(Lookup(Fields!TankDateCombo.Value, Fields!TankDateCombo.Value,Fields!Date.Value,"Dataset2")
>= Parameters!StartDate.Value,Fields!EndofMonth.Value,
Parameters!EndDate.Value))
=IIF(Parameters!CompanyId.Value<>67,Fields!EOM.Value,
IIF(Day(Lookup(Fields!TankDateCombo.Value, Fields!TankDateCombo.Value,Fields!Date.Value,"OESNeoData"))
>= Day(Parameters!StartDate.Value), Fields!EOM.Value,
Parameters!EndDate.Value))
MY dataset contains following data;
I fixed this by simply deleting that row group and passing start/end dates for both datasets

How can I add an aggregate percentage to an SSRS report based on two specific columns in a matrix?

I am somewhat new to SSRS and I have built a matrix report that looks fairly simple:
Supplier [AccDate]
[SupplierName] Sum(PurchasingCredit)
Total <<Expr>>
The actual report shows month-by-month sales data for a year in addition to Current YTD and Previous YTD columns (joined via UNION clause in base query) in addition to a column showing Year-over-Year % as difference between the Current YTD and Previous YTD columns (also joined via union).
I was able to apply a dynamic format to the Year-over-Year column using the following expression in the Format property to show the YOY column as a percentage and the others as dollar amounts:
=IIF(Fields!AccDate.Value <> "YOY", "'$' #,0.00;'$' -#,0.00", "#,0.00 %;-#,0.00 %")
The last thing I need to do is to show the column totals, which are working for each column with the exception of the year-over-year percentages using the following:
=IIF(Fields!AccDate.Value <> "YOY", SUM(Fields!PurchasingCredit.Value), 0)
In the year-over-year (YOY) column, a sum of percentages doesn't make sense: I need it to recalculate this value based on the sums of the "CYTD" and "PYTD" columns, but I can't seem to figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am guessing it is probably an application of scope, but the MS articles that attempt to explain this are very confusing.

How to get current month name in SSRS?

I need current month name as default perameter name in my ssrs report. How can I get current month name using an ssrs expression?
For example "27-09-2012" would become "September"
and one more i need....
27-09-2012 to previous month name as well (August)
First question:
=MonthName(Month(Fields!datefield.Value))
Second question:
=MonthName(Month(DateAdd("m", -1, Today())))
I think the second question answer might be something like that, first converting the date to month then subtracting 1 from the month value and then converting it to month name.
Further reading:
SSRS Reports get Month name from Month Index or from date
Converting month number to month name in reporting services
OFF: I would change the date format you are using to 2012-09-27 as it works in every setting and should give you peace of mind when converting date formats.
Don't subtract 1 b/c it won't work for January.
Use this:
MonthName(Month(DateAdd("m", -1, CDate(Today))))
As a note, I tried the suggestion of =MonthName(Month(today())). What I would get is #error for whatever field the expression was in. However, =MonthName(str(Month(today()))) worked for me. I am unsure of whether or not the MonthName method changed to require a string or if it is some issue with my program. Just figured I would post this in case anyone else was having the same issue.
For Previous Month i found universal way : =MonthName(Month(CDate(Today()))-1,False) for SEPTEMBER (Full Month Name) 'OR'
=MonthName(Month(CDate(Today()))-1,True) for SEP (Short Month Name)

SSRS: Get values from a particular row of DataSet?

My dataset currently has 12 rows of data. Each representing data for a month. I would like to have variance of a column between to rows, the rows being last & last but one i.e., latest month and previous month's data.
It could have been simple if I were to work on tablix but thats not the case. I want those values for a textbox.
Any ideas on it anyone?
I hope you are using SSRS 2008R2:
R2 introduced the Lookup function that is perfect for this scenario.
=Lookup( Fields!ProductUID.Value ,Fields!ProductID.Value,Fields!Price.Value,"PriceDataSet")
The Lookup function above will evaluate the first parameter ("Fields!ProductUID.Value") in the current dataset, then look for a matching value in the field specified in the second parameter ("Fields!ProductID.Value") in the dataset specified in the fourth parameter. The value of the third parameter is then evaluated in that row of the dataset and returned.
A little convoluted, but very helpful.
In your case, you can use this in a textbox with a calculated a static number:
=Lookup(
Month(DateAdd(DateInterval.Month, -1, GetDate())),
Fields!MonthID.Value,
Fields!Name.Value,
"DataSet1")
This should calculate a number for last month, then look for a match in DataSet1.
In this example I have a tablix with Statecode and name as below
enter image description here
Suppose you want to display the name of state of CA, write an expression as -
=Lookup(
"CA" ,
Fields!StateCode.Value,
Fields!StateName.Value,
"ReportData"
)
This will return 'California' in the text box
I ran across this post while trying to solve a similar problem but with columns of double data type. Not sure why but SSRS did not want to return my first row using LOOKUP in combination with ROW_NUMBER in SQL(If someone can solve that all the better). I ended up using a SUM(IIF) instead. Hopefully, this is useful for someone else.
=Sum(IIF(Fields!RowNum.Value=1,CDBL(Fields!MyNumericColumn.Value),CDBL(0)))
Note: If SSRS complains about data types, just cast both parts of the IIF to the desired data type.
