i wrote sql server table data to .csv file by using SSIS package. In flat file conncetion i've mentioned semi-colon as delimiter. Some of the values in my table are having commas(for example : CODE A,B,C) in .csv file CODE A is coming into 1st column and B is in 2nd vice-versa. now how can i keep all these values in a first column of .csv file with delimiter as ;
Probably you are opening your flat file in Excel, and opening it as a comma-separated file.
You need to specify to Excel when you open it that your file is delimited by semi-colons. Then it will display correctly.

We have a .txt file with encoding UTF-16 LE (discussed here, as well). We need to load this file into an Azure SQL database. We are first trying to convert this file to a csv format by using Text Import Wizard of Data Excel 365 wizard. But if we use the ^|^,^|^ as a custom delimiter, the first and last columns still end up with ^|^ value.
Question: What may be possible solutions/work arounds for converting this type of file to csv?
Remarks: This is a huge file (1GB) with about 150 columns. Following is just a sample for explaining the scenario in this post.
Sample of the txt file:
^|^Col0^|^,^|^Col1^|^,^|^Col2^|^,^|^Col3^|^,^|^Col4^|^,^|^Col5^|^,^|^Col6^|^,^|^Col7^|^
^|^1234^|^,^|^4600869848^|^,^|^6000.00^|^,^|^2021-12-20 10:16:19.3600000^|^,^|^False^|^,^|^^|^,^|^^|^,^|^2^|^
^|^5431^|^,^|^3425143451^|^,^|^30000.00^|^,^|^2021-12-13 10:27:44.9030000^|^,^|^False^|^,^|^^|^,^|^^|^,^|^2^|^
.....................

After using the delimiter ^|^,^|^ in Excel text import wizard
Instead of mentioning the ^|^,^|^ as custom delimiter, you can mention comma as a delimiter, that will give you a result like below:
Then you can record a macro to replace the desired characters which is ^|^ after importing is done as mentioned in below link:

I am importing some thousands lines of Data from a .txt file containing two columns and the format is as it follows:
A8041550408#=86^:|blablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablabla1
blablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablabla2
blablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablabla3
A8041550408#=86^:|blablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablabla1
blablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablabla2
A8041550408#=86^:|blablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablabla1
blablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablabla2
blablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablabla3
blablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablabla4
etc....
What I have done so far is create a table with the two fields, but when i try to import the .txt file as a CSV and putting / Columns separated By : | /, I get an error:
"Invalid column count in CSV input on line 2."
Which is quite obvious since the second line of the .txt file is empty.
Moreover, I have tried importing the file as a CSV using LOAD DATA, and it didn't work as well it has just filled up the table with random words and phrases from the .txt file .
So my question is : How can I import the data from this file ?
You have to fix your file; in its current state you cannot expect the import module to be able to understand it. First step would be to remove the empty lines: How to remove blank lines from a Unix file
Exporting a recordset to an external csv file generates a csv file which is comma separated in Mysql workbench. Is there a way to make it export to a semicolon separated csv file instead?.
I tried looking if there is some settings in Mysql workbench which can be changed to make the csv as semicolon separated but couldnt find. Is the exported csv file comma separated by default and cannot be changed or is there a workaround?
Yes, you can. When you are exporting the result set, choose "CSV (; separated)" instead of "CSV" as the output format. See the related documentation (and a screenshot).
Alternatively, the table "Table Data Export Wizard" also has an option to use ";" as the field separator. Get there by right-clicking on a table in the schema viewer.
1.run the query for output in Workbench
2.select the following button for export to records
Insert the following values
Click on export. The records would be exported to a csv file mentioned in the "File Path"
Given a CSV file with the following:
id,description,val
111,"abc",0
112,"abc"def",0
How do I insert this data into an SQL Server table using SSIS?
I've currently specified my column delimiter as , and the text qualifier "
You can follow below step by step walk-though. The settings you have done are right for flat file connection manager.
Import CSV File into Database Table Using SSIS
I have a flat file destination that exports data to .CSV file.
While doing data validation, I noticed that some rows are missing the values for the field Remarks.
The issue that I am facing is that not all the rows are missing the values but only some of them are missing it.
Flat file connection manager settings:
Column data type is set to DT_STR with length 200.
Text qualifier is "
Header Row Delimiter is {CR}{LF}
Here are some sample values that exported correctly:
Multiple repairs # 20021089
Here are few rows that seem to have issues:
1. #20026982-exterior debirs and demo with permits
2. ID # 20005495 hearing
