Why my divs won't stack on top of each other?

I'm a beginner web developper, and I'm working on a homepage. Yet I'm stuck: for some reasons, my divs just won't stack on top of each other like they should (at least I think so), the blue one keep appearing in the center of the page, no matter what I do. I tried a whole lot of things, and nothing solved it.
Help!

Not sure what the problem is. I have set the background image of the body tag to cover in the app.css file. As you can see in the screenshot, the image is behind the grid and only visible at the top. There is blank space at the bottom of the screen,

I think you have it in the right place, but you need to wrap your filepath in quotes and use the 'background' property.
background: url('../Images/iNeed__waterfall_BG.jpg');
You didn't include your Main.css into your HTML.
Add the following to your HTML <head> section.

margin-top:200;
}
}
</style>
</head>
<!-- HTML code from Bootply.com editor -->
<body>
<nav class="navbar navbar-default" role="navigation">
<!-- Collect the nav links, forms, and other content for toggling -->
<div class="collapse navbar-collapse navbar-ex1-collapse">
<ul class="nav navbar-nav">
<li class="active">Breads</li>
<li>Cupcakes</li>
<li>Pies</li>
<li>Pastas</li>
<li>Desserts</li>
<li>Caters</li>
</ul>
</div><!-- /.navbar-collapse -->
</nav>
</body></html>
And then I want to include it here.
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<title>Categories - Breads</title>
</head>
<body>
<?php include_once("hor_menu.php");?>
<?php include_once("vert_menu.php");?>
</body>
</html>
Is it possible to include both files without destroying the layout?
Try something like this (I've not tested it)
<html lang="en"><head>
<meta charset="utf-8">
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge">
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">

<meta name="author" content="">
